As we showed you yesterday, Man of Steel is featured prominently in Entertainment Weekly's summer movie preview issue, which hits newsstands tomorrow. The magazine spoke with several cast and crew members for the cover story, including producer Charles Roven, who revealed that Man of Steel helps set the tone for the long-awaited Justice League superhero ensemble.

"It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forwards. In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. What (director) Zack (Snyder) and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."

Back in November, Michael Shannon, who plays General Zod, revealed he does not actually say, "Kneel before Zod" in the movie. Director Zack Snyder said there is another famous part of the Superman canon that will not be included.

"I'll be honest with you, there's no Kryptonite in the movie."

While Superman's main weakness will not be a part of the film, Henry Cavill revealed that his title character does have some emotional baggage.

Some believe that it may be attached to prints of Warner Bros.' 42, which hits theaters this weekend. After co-writing the screenplays for Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, David S. Goyer moved right on to another superhero franchise with the Superman reboot Man of Steel. Warner Bros. has put the fate of the potential Justice League film on the shoulders of Zack Snyder's superman reboot Man of Steel.

Just like Marvel's The Avengers, which used Iron Man as a launching pad, they will use the success of The Dark Knight films and the potential success of Man of Steel to gauge whether or not fans will react positively to the DC superhero mashup.

Studio execs are planning the Justice League tentpole, which includes DC Comics' superheros Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash and the Green Lantern, to the order of Marvel's The Avengers. Gangster Squad's Will Beall is currently penning the script with no director attached as of yet. Although Green Lantern turned out to be a failure, it seems that they are looking to exploit the DC library further down the road.

DC Comics has revealed a new statue they are releasing in May, featuring a 1:6 scale version of Henry Cavill in full costume as Superman. Take a look at this collectible, along with the official details and specifications. We have a new look at Henry Cavill as Superman in director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. We've seen a similar image before, in both a recent poster and the latest trailer that was released. None the less, Superman being hauled off in handcuffs by military police is an instantly iconic image that ranks up there with some of the best Golden Age artwork. Warner Bros. has emerged victorious in a legal battle with the estate of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel. This essentially means they can move forward with the franchise after this summer's Man of Steel without any further legal problems.

Earlier today, the the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a lower court should not have granted Jerry Siegel's estate permission to re-capture the rights to Superman in 2008, since DC Comics and the Jerry Siegel family entered into an agreement back in 2001. We reported in October that another court ruled against the estate of the other Superman co-creator, Joe Shuster.

Both estates have tried to relinquish the rights to this popular character for years, exploiting the "termination" provision of the 1976 Copyright Act, which allows artists to get back the rights they gave up early in their careers. Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel sold the rights to Superman for very little compensation in the 1930s.

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released a new photo of Henry Cavill as Superman in this summer's DC Comics reboot Man of Steel. Directed by Zack Snyder, this updating of the iconic superhero follows an extraterrestrial infant who is raised on Earth, a home he comes to love and guard despite not being immediately accepted or understood by the human race.

A New director and writer have boarded Relativity Media's planned reboot of The Crow.

The film is back on track after Relativity settled a legal battle with The Weinstein Company, which had distributed the original 1994 movie through Miramax and claimed it owned all the rights.

The lawsuit was settled out of court and Relativity has now announced that F. Javier Gutierrez has signed on to direct the film with Jesse Wigutow making a deal to pen the script.

Gutierrez made his directing debut on the 2008 apocalyptic meteorite thriller Before the Fall and will be the third man to take the helm of The Crow following the departures of Stephen Norrington and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

No casting has yet been unveiled although Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, Channing Tatum and Jason Statham were previously linked to the project. Brandon Lee starred in the 1994 version and was killed in a gun accident on set.

Jadin Gould a Young Lana Lang for Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel

Batman has Catwoman and Talia. Spider-Man has Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson. Superman has Lois Lane and Lana Lang. Now we have learned that both those “L” ladies will make it to the big screen for Zack Snyder’s film, Superman: Man of Steel.

When you discover who will portray a young Lana Lang on the big screen you may start to wonder, as I did, if part of Man of Steel would include Spuerman’s childhood on the Kent farm. The actress’s name is Jadin Gould and she is a teenager. Her acting credits include Battle: Los Angeles, The Mentalist and Chuck.

According to SlashFilm, Gould will play Lana in at least one flashback of Clark’s younger years, growing up in Smallville. In fact, actor Dylan Sprayberry will play the young Man of Steel.

The Superman Homepage claims to have received word that young actor Jack Foley will play a young Pete Ross in Man of Steel, following earlier reports that Jadin Gould is a young Lana Lang and Dylan Sprayberry will be the young Clark Kent. Foley's only past role was as "15 Year Old #2" in 2011's 30 Minutes or Less. Stay tuned for more updates and sound off with your thoughts below. Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel has been in production for quite a while, but we’re getting some pretty late casting news for the project. After bringing on Richard Schiff in what sounded like a fairly nondescript role, Jadin Gould has joined the cast as the young Lana Lang. [SupermanSuperSite, /Film]

The actress will join Henry Cavill (Superman/Clark Kent) and Amy Adams (Lois Lane) in the Watchmen director’s adaptation of the beloved superhero franchise. Her character is set to appear in a flashback of Clark Kent’s childhood, in his hometown of Smallville, alongside Dylan Sprayberry, who has been cast as the young Kent.

“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination.
