Written by Francesca Simon, the Horrid Henry series follows the adventures of Henry, a rambunctious trouble-making boy and his goody-two-shoes brother Peter. Originally a series of books, it’s been turned into a TV series, a film and now it’s very own Nintendo 3Ds game with Horrid Henry: The Good, the Bad and the Bugly.
This isn’t my first experience with a Horrid Henry game, the first being the iPad app we reviewed a while ago. This time round we’re treated to a platform adventure in the style of Mario featuring three different worlds to explore as Horrid Henry sets out on his quest to retrieve Bunny, his brother Peter’s toy rabbit, by solving puzzles and defeating bosses with his goo gun and its four types of goo.

After the discovery of a Viking burial site in Scotland, Norse history and myths are the focus of a TV saga, epic novels and a major British Museum exhibition
Longboats, funeral pyres, glinting helmets and drinking horns: the discovery of a buried Viking boat in the west Highlands a few days ago has given an extra fillip to a burgeoning cultural fascination with all things Norse.
A succession of Viking literary sagas, films and television series, pieces of poetry and avant-garde art, not to mention preparations for a major British Museum show, are now all on the slipway.
More than 50 years after actors Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis donned their woollen tunics for Hollywood blockbuster The Vikings, a television series of the same name and a TV version of British writer Neil Gaiman's Nordic gods-inspired bestseller, American Gods, are both in development. The Vikings, which picks up on interest...

Her father was scary. Vincent Gallo got vicious. And Jack Nicholson taught her never to give a brown present. Anjelica Huston tells John Patterson about a life among Hollywood royalty
The last time I met Anjelica Huston was six or seven years ago in a luxury oceanfront hotel in Venice, California. It was windy and cold, Huston was still a smoker – we talked outside in the wind while she lit up like a naughty schoolgirl. Today, it's a blisteringly hot day, she's an enviably youthful 60, an ex-smoker now, sitting in the lounge of the luxury hotel next door, before a gigantic cinemascope window affording guests a million-dollar view of the Pacific, which looks seriously tempting in today's heat.
"I went in the ocean this year, the day after my birthday," she tells me as we watch the breakers gently roll in, "and it was actually really nice. It's like the Eiffel Tower is for Parisians,...

My kids will be thrilled about this one. For the uninitiated, Horrid Henry is a series of books and now animated TV programmes about a boy called Henry who is, well, Horrid. His brother, Perfect Peter and his teacher, Miss Battleaxe feature regularly in his misadventures.
