- TriviaThe Leonard Nimoy tribute art collage shown burning at the 2015 Burning Man festival temple burn in the documentary "For the Love of Spock" was designed and created by set dresser Chris Clark (XX) over a 2 day period at his lunch hour on stage 5 at the prospect lot while working on Grey's Anatomy in Los Angeles CA. As i life long Star Trek fan and 15 year veteran of the Burning Man festival Mr Clark had no idea that anyone other then the 2015 Burning Man attendees would see the art piece tribute to Mr Nimoy , Mr Clark was shocked but very honored to see that the art collage he created appeared in a documentary about Leonard Nimoy's life .
In the 15 years that Chris Clark has been going to Burning Man he has created multiple art tributes for the festivals temple burns mostly for family and friends who have passed , but also for celebrated individuals that have impacted Mr Clark's life threw art and or adventure in some way, he has created art pieces for people like Hunter S. Thompson , George Harrison , Heath Ledger , Eli Wallach , Kenny Baker , Bettie Page , Charlton Heston , Neil Armstrong , James Doohan , David Carradine , Christopher Lee & David Bowie just to name a few .
The Leonard Nimoy art collage is the first and only collage to date that Mr Clark has made for the Burning Man temple burn, he was quoted as saying " each art piece is different as each person was different , when Leonard Nimoy passed away i felt the need to be creative , and that was how the collage came about ". The collage was created mostly using magazines and photos that Mr Clark had collected over the years as a youth ...
Mr Clark met Mr Nimoy multiple times over the years at conventions and appearances , the first time in 1988 when he was 14 years old , and met Mr Nimoy for the last time in 2005.
