The professional wrestling scene has been a unique blend of emotionally gripping storylines, neatly sewn together with high-octane action, athleticism, and a dash of disbelief. Triple H’s WWE has been doing the same, where sometimes he decides to take things up a notch with the inclusion of blood.
Jon Moxley. Credits: Aew
This decision has always been a divisive one, where some believe that it enhances realism and brings out the true combative nature of the sport. However, some feel this incorporation has risks and serious consequences. Though it can’t be justified, it seems Jon Moxley has developed a serious liking to color himself in his own blood in almost all of his matches.
Something similar was witnessed at Aew Dynamite, where he decided not to blade himself. Instead, he used a spiked bat to make the main event more dramatic.

In a post-screening Q&a ahead of the Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, filmmaker Neo Sora discussed his nominated feature “Happyend,” a contemplative exploration of fractured friendship against the backdrop of political unrest.
In the film, set in the near future, the threat of a catastrophic quake looms in Tokyo. Two friends, Yuta (Kurihara Hayato) and Kou (Hidaka Yukito), prank their principal before graduation, leading to school surveillance installation.
The Tokyo-based director’s debut feature film weaves personal relationships with larger sociopolitical themes, creating what Sora described as “differences in scale” between intimate character dynamics and sweeping social commentary. “The core of the film is friendship, but specifically the feeling you get when you lose a friend because of political differences,” Sora explained. “That’s a really small thing because it’s just between you and somebody else. But because the reason is a larger, social reason, one of the...

Jujutsu Kaisen and Solo Leveling are both extremely popular anime. They are powerhouses among the modern anime series, with millions of fans worldwide. Yet, when it comes down to it, they struggle with the same fundamental issue of focusing on their protagonists.
A scene from Solo Leveling Season 2. | Credit: A-1 Pictures
Jujutsu Kaisen is a narrative with rich characters, lore, and development. So much so that the protagonist himself feels secondary to the narrative. The anime has faced a lot of criticism for sidelining Yuji Itadori in favor of not one but many side characters.
Characters like Gojo Satoru and Sukuna steal the spotlight and feel much more alive than Yuji, who seems to develop very little throughout. On the contrary, we have Solo Leveling, which does the exact opposite, making everything revolve around Jinwoo, the protagonist, without giving the side characters many chances to develop.

Contains spoilers for Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen is known for its stunning fights. The choreography and the complicated and thought-provoking curse techniques act as the power system in the series. More than two handful of fights are some of the best: Gojo versus Sukuna, Todo and Yuji versus Mahito, and even Toji versus the cursed spirit Dagon. What makes all the fights in Jujutsu Kaisen special is Akutami's genius way of making each one of them a study and analysis of the main characters. Barely any fight is done without purpose.
But when it was first released, one fight was useless, and when it ended, it only sparked more confusion and dissatisfaction with how the series was ending. That fight was between Fumihiko Takaba and Kenjaku, and it may be one of the best fights in the entire franchise.
Who are Kenjaku and Takaba? Where the Two...

2024 was a sad year for Jujutsu Kaisen fans as the manga series finally bid farewell and reached its conclusion by bringing an end to an extremely interesting story. However, the ending was not at all what fans expected, and thus, there was some disappointment with it. It felt a little rushed, and many character plots were left unresolved, which certainly was not good.
Jujutsu Kaisen | Credit: Mappa Studios
But to tackle this problem, Gege Akutami has decided to add some extra pages to the final volume of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga that will focus on certain characters from the series. The only problem is that the characters that will be focused on are not so important to the central storyline of the series. Thus, fans don’t care about them making the extra pages obsolete.
When fans got to know about the extra pages, they were excited, but this excitement...

Jujutsu Kaisen's anime has a challenge ahead, but series creator Gege Akutami has already talked about how to fix it. Jujutsu Kaisen's second season left off with a load of momentum that's now sitting dormant. After the Shibuya Incident arc leaves total carnage in its wake, protagonist Yuji Itadori is trembling with uncertainty following Sukuna taking over his body and wreaking havoc. To make matters worse, Yuta Okkutsu, the star of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, is charged with fulfilling his extermination.
Jujutsu Kaisen's third season is hotly anticipated, but one of the arcs it will cover has a weak spot. Season 3 will first cover the Itadori Extermination arc where Yuta tries to see his new mission through, but things conclude fairly quickly, setting the stage for the Culling Game arc—and that's where Season 3's troubles begin. Mappa has an amazing opportunity to overcome some of the problems with Jujutsu Kaisen's manga,...

Jujutsu Kaisen is an exciting shnen anime with side characters so interesting, they could each have their own spin-off series. Characters like Aoi Todo, Toji Fushiguro, and even Dagon aren't in the series often, but when they are, they make a huge impression. The side characters in Jujutsu Kaisen bring a lot of life to the series. As allies, they're the first ones to lift protagonist Itadori Yuji up, helping him get through all the vitriol thrown his way.
If they're villains, however, they will stop at nothing to ruin young Yuji's day. Each character has a unique relationship with Itadori and the world around them. Some want to change the world, bringing destruction with them, while characters like Nanami just want a day off. No matter which side character from Jujutsu Kaisen gets their own spin-off, it will be filled with the same high-flying action and incredible set...

Neo Sora makes his feature directorial debut with Happyend, transporting us to a speculative vision of Tokyo’s near future. As the son of renowned musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, Sora carries an artistic sensibility shaped by Japan’s social-political currents. His film explores these themes through an intimate focus on a group of high school friends.
Our characters are Yuta and Kou, who’ve been close since childhood. Life remains much as it ever was for Tokyo’s graduating seniors, even with impending catastrophe looming. Daily earthquake drills are just background noise to games and music in their makeshift clubroom sanctuary. Beneath surface calm, however, tensions are rising both in their tightknit circle and the outside world.
When a prank on a rigid principal backfires, it brings harsh new surveillance measures to the school. Freedoms once taken for granted face removal. Divisions emerge as friends discover their stances on rebellion versus obedience diverge.

2024 has seen some great animated films. Dreamworks' "The Wild Robot" has deservedly won over audiences' hearts (and the box office). "Transformers One" — a much different movie about robots — has also gotten some of the best reviews in a franchise that too often has been a punchline.
But my favorite animated film so far this year is one that might have slipped under your radar: director Kiyotaka Oshiyama's "Look Back," distributed stateside in a limited run by GKids. The film follows two Japanese girls, the plucky and bold Fujino (Yuumi Kawai) and shut-in Kyomoto (Mizuki Yoshida), who meet and become friends due to their mutual interest in art. As they draw together, they pull apart.

The tragic love story of Yuta Okkotsu and his childhood friend Rika is widely considered to be one of Jujutsu Kaisen's most memorable (yet heartbreaking) arcs. Now, Jjk fans outside of Japan can purchase the real-life version of Yuta Okkotsu's engagement ring.
Meccha Japan, an online retailer that features goods from a myriad of popular anime franchises, recently began accepting preorders for Yuta's engagement ring, produced by Bandai. Like its animated counterpart, it is a modest silver band embedded with a single crystal. It also comes with a 45 cm-long brass plated chain, allowing it to be worn around the neck. Meccha Japan, which caters to both domestic and international markets, offers worldwide shipping. Accordingly, listed prices are displayed in the predominant currency of the customer's region. At the time of writing, the retail price for Yuta's ring is US$172.95.

Aside from his magnum opus Chainsaw Man, Tatsuki Fujimoto has a diverse portfolio of works. These include several one-shot manga that are acclaimed and well-appreciated. His notable one-shot manga is Look Back which was eventually adapted into a film by director Kiyotaka Oshiyama and Studio Durian. However, there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Despite the film’s acclaim, Oshiyama won’t be animating yet another one-shot manga by Fujimoto. While the film remains an iconic masterpiece, Fujimoto’s one-shot manga Goodbye, Eri awaits an adaptation. Warning: Contains spoilers for chapter #261 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen's final battle single-handedly sent the fandom into chaos when it teased the potential return of Gojo Satoru. The battle against Sukuna was no doubt full of unexpected plot twists, but Gojo's return is one that very few considered a real possibility, especially given Gege Akutami's dislike for the character and the closure provided after his death. That said, chapter #261 finally shed light on the matter, revealing an unexpected sacrifice by Yuta Okkotsu that made Gojo's return possible.
Chapter #261 reveals that Yuta has taken over Gojo's body using Kenjaku's Cursed Technique, revealing that the ghost Sukuna saw at the end of the previous chapter was indeed Gojo and not a hallucination on Sukuna's part. The chapter explains that Shoko and the medical team were able to patch up Gojo's body just enough for Yuta to do the rest...

While fans of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga are divided on its conclusion, one aspect of its universal praise is its absolutely breathtaking artwork. Akutami’s masterful illustrations brought this dark fantasy world to life, captivating readers and setting a new standard for the manga industry. Studio Mappa also cleverly translated this into an anime masterclass, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the series.

Bleach is undeniably one of the most legendary manga out there. Tite Kubo has written such an amazing world, full of iconic characters and intense fights, it’s hard not to be inspired. Gege Akutami is one such fan. Jujutsu Kaisen was heavily inspired by Bleach. However, did the author go too far in following in the footsteps of Kubo?
Both manga are now notorious for their bad, unsatisfying endings. Fans, on the other hand, are a lot more harsh on Akutami in comparison with Kubo for one glaring reason. Tite Kubo faced a lot of health issues and actually requested to end the manga within a year or two of his diagnosis.

The mastermind behind the immensely popular manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, is well known for their unique storytelling and skill in fusing horror aspects with the Shounen genre. However, according to many revelations, Akutami may not have reached the full extent of his potential as a horror writer because of editing choices that shaped the series into what it is now.

Miguel's appearance reveals a diverse world of non-Japanese sorcerers beyond the domestic focus of Jujutsu Kaisen's story. Japan's abundance of cursed energy sparks interest in exploring the international community of sorcerers and their unique abilities. Miguel's strength and resilience make him one of the strongest sorcerers in the series, presenting a new challenge for Sukuna to overcome.
As the focus of the Jujutsu Kaisen story remains squarely on the battle in Shibuya to defeat Sukuna, the surprise appearance of Miguel reveals that there's more happening in the world of curses and curse users outside the series' emphasis on the domestic Jujutsu sorcerer community.
While Sukuna was able to survive his match with Gojo, his problems did not end there. Indeed, since Gojo's defeat, Sukuna has faced a succession of sorcerers united in their goals of taking him out directly or inflicting as much damage as possible, so that...

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime that does not take any obstacle as a reason to stop it from succeeding. It was recently announced by the Guinness Book of World Records that Gege Akutami’s masterpiece is the world’s most in-demand anime. Not only did it surpass the Big Three, but it did so by being decades younger than Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach.
Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen
While many would find it confusing as to why Jujutsu Kaisen was able to rise the ranks in a way no other anime could, there are many factors that come into play here. Out of which 5 stand out more than others.
1. Writer’s Discretion Over Viewer’s Opinion
Gege Akutami is perhaps one of the bravest mangakas in shonen works because of the way they kill off characters without any fear. In the wise words of Tatsuki Fujimoto, “Kill your darlings.

What makes Jujutsu Kaisen unique from most other shonen genre anime is its intriguing Op characters, incredible female cast, and willingness to kill characters with no distinct plot armor.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans are eagerly waiting for the Culling games arc to get animated and one of the biggest reasons for this is the anticipation fans have for one of their favorite character Maki Zenin. Gojo and Geto
One of the most famous dynamics was between Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru. Unfortunately, the latter followed the path of evil, and Gojo was unable to save his best friend. Gojo Satoru, the most loved character from Jujutsu Kaisen has been dead for quite some time now and fans still are hoping for his imminent return to the series. Gojo’s death was a dark turn of events for Jujutsu Kaisen as he was believed to be the only possible hope for the sorcerer’s win against the King of Curses Sukuna and Kenjaku.
Gojo Satoru’s Death
Ever since his death fans have struggled to come to terms with his passing and are always formulating theories to explain why he should come back. While some believe that the reverse cursed technique could bring him back, some think that Gojo just like his previous almost-death experience will come back stronger than ever.
While nothing is confirmed as of this moment, there is a chance the fan-favorite character may return to the series because of a blurred image shown during an interview with Junya Fukuda.

Quick Links Who Are The Special Grade Sorcerers In Jujutsu Kaisen? Satoru Gojo Can't Be Compared to Other Special Grade Sorcerers Who Could Surpass Gojo's Power? Satoru Gojo is the strongest sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, with unparalleled innate strength and abilities. There are only four officially recognized Special Grade Sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen, including Yuki Tsukumo, Suguru Geto, Yuta Okkotsu, and Satoru Gojo. While Yuta Okkotsu and Yuji Itadori have the potential to surpass Gojo's power, a third individual, Kinji Hakari, is also recognized as a candidate.
Ever since the beginning of Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo has been clearly marked as the strongest sorcerer in the story. He inherited his innate Limitless technique from the Gojo clan, as well as the rare power of the Six Eyes — a technique that makes him a nigh-invincible warrior. No enemies or peers come close to Gojo's level of innate strength. Even his fellow Special Grade Sorcerers,...

Everyone knows that Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, hates Gojo Satoru. However, there have been many instances that prove that they love Yuta Okkotsu and, in a way, may have wanted him to be the original protagonist of the series. Despite being a side character (although important), Yuta gives the main character vibe more than Yuji Itadori.
Yuta Okkotsu in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2
The plotline in the series since the beginning has shown that although Yuji has potential, he is not able to achieve success until and unless someone helps him one way or the other. Be it Sukuna, Aoi Todo, or any other character, Yuji has always needed someone to help him or rescue him.
However, that is not the case with Yuta. Since Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta has been self-sufficient against some of the biggest enemies and managed to break out of some of the worst situations.

Among the countless other reasons that make Jujutsu Kaisen the best new-gen anime and manga franchise, the most prominent was the friendship between Geto and Gojo. Fans loved their chemistry on screen and always wished the best for them. Unfortunately, Gege Akutami had different plans as they made vile sorcerer Kenjaku take over Geto’s body after his demise.
Kenjaku
When viewers thought that Geto would never be back, Gege, as usual, shocked their fans once again when Geto subconsciously moved his arm and tried to choke his own body in Shibuya. However, this was never explored further, and what could have been the perfect beginning for the comeback of Geto was left behind.
Gege Akutami could have bought back Geto using this scene in Jujutsu Kaisen
Since Gojo Satoru came back from near death, the idea of a dead person coming back has been discussed among Jujutsu Kaisen fans.

Beyond amping up the excitement, Yuta's Domain Expansion also draws comparisons to a similar technique from the Fate franchise which may have inspired many other aspects of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Yuta vs. Sukuna will be the next big fight in Jujutsu Kaisen, but the winner is likely to be Sukuna according to the author's statements in the series' databook. Even though Sukuna is stronger than Rika, Yuta's abilities and the support of other sorcerers could give him a fighting chance against Sukuna. The outcome of Yuta and Sukuna's fight may not be straightforward, but it is expected to be suspenseful and overall great.

The modern sensation of the shonen world, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is a highly praised and universally beloved dark fantasy story that shines in countless aspects. Both the manga and anime versions of Itadori Yuji’s struggles against Cursed Spirits top most new-gen shonen series in terms of quality and popularity for a good reason. Yet, even among the people who enjoy Gege Akutami’s world and characters tremendously exist those who see the inherent problems in Jujutsu Kaisen’s writing.
Like any story of such magnitude, Jujutsu Kaisen is far from perfect. While the flaws of its writing don’t stop the fans from engaging with the series, many see the importance of addressing the things Jjk executes poorly. A narrative of both incredible highs and disappointing lows, Jujutsu Kaisen remains beloved by a large international community despite its imperfections.

When it comes to Shounen anime, more often than not, it happens that the remarkable, most anticipated arcs are difficult to follow up, resulting in a drop in qualitative aspects, as seen in the cases of some of the most popular titles like Bleach, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and so on and so forth. The way the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen peaked with the adaptation of the Shibuya Incident arc, fans are skeptical whether the series will be able to surpass it in the third season, which will be released after a year or so.
