It wasn't great to be a Millennial at the top of the 2010s. Not that other folks were having a ball, but by then people of that generation had spent a solid decade growing rapidly disillusioned with the state of the world upon coming of adult age. They and millions of others had also barely gone through the worst economic recession in the lifetimes of practically anyone still alive today. Plus, on top of somehow being both broke and utterly reckless spenders (or so the "Millennials are killing [Insert Name of Industry]" think-piece cottage industry at the time would have you believe), most of them were still in their early to mid-20s, which is a trying age for anyone who's ever lived.
So, naturally, we did what we always do when we're suffering: looked for opportunities to mock our deeply privileged lives of woe.

Having a favorite show canceled feels a bit like getting the rug pulled from underneath, or having a movie cut off half an hour before the end. Just as the characters become familiar, and just as the story starts to get more layered and interesting, they're unceremoniously taken away. It stings even more if the TV show ends on a cliffhanger, or a promising future setup.
Nowadays, if a show on a streaming service doesn't get the desired streaming numbers in the first week, it's likely it won't get a second season; Netflix is a particular scourge of shows canceled too soon. Official social media accounts get flooded by fans pleading for their series to get picked back up, and petitions are promptly written up. My Lady Jane and Kaos are some of the more recent casualties of this brutal trend, leading to infuriating cliffhangers. There have been shows that...

Not judging a book by its cover is a clich, but sometimes not judging a TV show by its title is good advice. Whether its a sitcom with a misleading title or an action-based show that has an uninspiring title, there are many TV shows with titles that dont quite match the content.
When the title isnt appropriate for the subject matter of a show, there is a possibility that it will struggle to find an audience. Many otherwise deserving shows can then end up being less successful than they otherwise might have been with a different, more enticing title.
The Main Character Is Insulted in the Title of This Sitcom Dont Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (2012 2014)

People say never to judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to TV shows, sometimes it's just as important not to judge them by their titles. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," for example, doesn't exactly sound like the groundbreaking and celebrated hero's journey that it is. Other shows like "Selfie," "Cougar Town," and the eventually mercifully renamed "Scrotal Recall" (it's called "Lovesick" now) are also way better than their titles would lead one to believe.
The same is true of 2012's short-lived ABC comedy "Don't Trust the B----- in Apartment 23," an outrageous, surreal, fast-paced sitcom starring Krysten Ritter, Dreama Walker, James Van Der Beek, and Eric Andre. Whereas some other titles oversell the wackier aspects of the shows in question, though, "Don't Trust the B" simply can't be tamed or contained by something as simple as a title.

The premise for this relationship comedy is familiar to anyone who has done some coupling. Jon (Michael Blaiklock) and Maggie (Madeline Walker) have just taken the step to move in together. While the boxes are still unpacking, each of them gets the dreaded “raccoon flu.” Deathly ill together, they find out things about each other that are both funny and dark. The supporting cast includes Antoine McKay, Gail Rastorfer and Scarlett Harper.

Chicago – First Tuesdays are back in Chicago. The Midwest Independent Film Festival will kick off their 2018 (and 14th) season at 6pm on Tuesday, February 6th, with the comedy “Cold War,” directed by J. Wilder Knoschak and Stirling McLaughlin. The film will be preceded by a Producer’s Panel, which will spotlight “The Post Production Process.” For more information, including tickets purchasing, click here.
“Cold War” features Michael Blaiklock and Madeline Walker as a couple – who has just moved in together days before – hilariously coping with the not-so-romantic intimacies of caring for each other while horribly sick. Directors Knoschak and McLaughlin will attend the screening and do a Q&A after the screening, followed by an afterparty.

Right Now Kapow stands out from its fellow animated kids’ shows in a number of ways. Foremost, it marks a rare team-up of animation powerhouses Disney and Warner Bros. Animation. While WB live-action projects air on a host of networks, WB animated series have mostly aired on what was then The WB and Cartoon Network (also under the umbrella of Time Warner). Right Now Kapow premieres tonight on Disney Xd, the first time the network has aired an original series produced by WB. Creators Justin Becker and Marly Harlpern-Graser were developing the animated sketch comedy series at a time when Disney Xd was looking for something akin to Mad, the Cartoon Network series that aired from 2010-2013. “Disney Xd is trying to go off in new directions and do different, interesting kinds of things. They were a fan of what we had done on Mad, and they were looking for a show like that,...

Fans of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 have a reason to celebrate. The final unaired episodes are available online. There are a lot of people out there who gripe a lot about ABC when it comes to their quick cancel moves (not that this one wasn’t given a decent chance), but this is a cool effort, even if cynics are going to call it a last ditch hope at some ad money, and it’s one that I hope is the start of a growing trend.
With all the possibilities available these days, why wouldn’t you give fans a shot at getting those episodes that never made it to air? Why isn’t everyone doing this?
Check out the full info below, and let me know where you are on this one. Will you watch? Do you not really care anymore since the show is done?...

ABC has decided to cancel Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 after one and a half seasons on the air. The network has pulled the low-rated sitcom off the schedule and it's unclear when or if viewers will be able to see the eight unaired installments.
Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 debuted early last year and revolves around sweet girl (Dreama Walker) who moves to New York for her dream job and, after it evaporates, ends up moving in with a con-artist party-girl (Krysten Ritter). The cast also includes Liza Lapira, Michael Blaiklock, Eric Andre, Ray Ford, and James Van Der Beek, playing a fictional version of himself.
With mediocre ratings, the sitcom was on the bubble for renewal last May with an average of a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.71 million total viewers.

It’s that time of year… network shows are going off the air (some for good) and the cable summer season is about to premiere. We decided to take a look at all of the season finales that have aired thus far and here are more of our staff picks for the best and the worst for the 2011-2012 season. Here are picks made by BuzzFocus Associate Editor-Community Manager Ernie Estrella:

Best: Don’t Trust The B—- in Apartment 23
Wanna know why this show worked and 2 Broke Girls didn’t? We had rudeness from Chloe (Krystin Ritter) and the corruption and naïveté of June (Dreama Walker) is plenty fun, but the supporting characters prove to be something more than what they are on the surface. Chicago – “Don’t Trust the B—— in Apartment 23” may seem at first like a cynical, modern program, but it’s really a throwback to sitcoms of the ’70s and ’80s when you think about it’s structure. Like so many one-set shows of those days, it’s about an oil-and-water, “Odd Couple” who spend a lot of time in their apartment while wacky characters pop in and out of their lives. It’s not too far from “Three’s Company.” And yet it doesn’t embrace its structure, coming off as more pretentious and over-written than the goofy show it should have been (especially with its horrendous title). This B—— thinks it’s the smartest in the room when it’s, at least to start, the weak link on a great night of comedy.

ABC has a slew of new shows coming, many of which need a lot of luck if they're going to last more than a handful of episodes. The schedule has been released, so let's take a lot at what's coming.
Oddly enough, as part of the new announcement, ABC has solidified the return of several more shows, including Happy Endings, despite the fact that two other networks have shows on their slate with cast members from the show. That should be interesting. Of course, it works for me, because I'm a fan.
In other news, Desperate Housewives will not die. Are you kidding me with this show still being on?

Earlier we shared ABC's primetime lineup, and now we have some clips from the new comedy series for you. The new comedies include Apartment 23, Suburgatory, Last Man Standing, Man Up, and Work It. So far I think Apartment 23 looks the best. Check out the clips below and let us know what shows you are liking the most.
Apartment 23
After a naive Midwestern girl's big city dreams are dashed her first week in New York, she finds herself living with her worst nightmare in this hilarious, contemporary comedy about a female odd couple who are surrounded by an outrageous cast of characters. June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live.

NBC and Fox have both unleashed their Fall 2011-2012 TV schedule, now ABC has released theirs. I’m excited to see Castle, Modern Family, and The Middle back in the mix. Most of the new shows they have line-up don’t really interest me, but there are a few that have caught my eye. PanAm is another 1960’s based TV show that will go against AMC’s Mad Men and NBC’s The Playboy Club. There’s a show called Revenge that sounds really interesting, but the new series I’m most excited about is is the fantasy series Once Upon A Time, a show where fairy tales collide with the modern day.
Here is ABC’s full schedule along with a description of all of their shows. Go through them below and let us know what TV series you’re most excited about seeing.
