Casinos have played prominent roles in many blockbuster films over the past decades with film producers taking advantage of the illustrious settings and glamour provided by casinos. In some of the biggest hits involving casinos, Asian actors have also played their parts in iconic scenes and storylines. These movies also serve as a nice reminder that casinos still very much exist despite the ongoing shift to the online world.
These portrayals of film characters in a physical casino are refreshing to see in a world where live casino games at Cloudbet for example are starting to take over. For the traditional casino players, here are a few movies to get those juices flowing and the actors of Asian descent that have starred in these Hollywood blockbusters.
Qin Shaobo – Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen
Danny Ocean’s “grease man” in the Oceans trilogy was born in Guangxi, China and played Yen.

Premiering at Goteborg Film Festival where it won the Fipresci Prize and moving on to Tribeca before playing many other festivals, Tom of Finland would seem to be testing the Academy with such a gay subject, but no more so than France with Bpm, Beats Per Minute, and South Africa’s The Wound, or in the past with Milk and the Celluloid Closet, and certainly within the context of the Academy Awards’ diversity this season, with Moonlight, a possible winner of best picture, and Luca Guadagnino’s stunningly beautiful Call Me by Your Name with Armie Hammer looking to make a run at Best Actor, the Academy’s spotty record of recognizing gay-themed cinema may be improving.
Obviously, with such iconic art, the Lgbtq world would be writing at length about this film and here I quote Blade, America’s Lgbt News Source article by Michael Jortner:

The pilot for Mistresses will undoubtedly draw comparisons to the HBO series Sex and the City. Four girlfriends traversing the complicated world of relationships, only this time the setting is sunny southern California instead of the clubs and fashions of New York City.
Although both shows have their similarities, Mistresses - a remake of a UK series - feels a little more mature. Perhaps it's because half of this gorgeous foursome starts out having already taken the leap into married life.
The women of Mistresses are dealing with the consequences of infidelity, sometimes their own, sometimes done to them... and those consequences aren't always what you'll expect.
Alyssa Milano plays Savannah (Savi) Davis, the central character of our group. Savi and super-hot husband Harry are trying to make a baby and it's taking it's toll. Nothing ruins a couples sex life quicker than taking temperatures and counting days.
But when...

Smash, Season 2, Episode 11: “The Invited Dress”
Written by: Julia Brownell
Directed by: Mimi Leder
Airs Saturdays at 9pm (Et) on NBC
Smash you disappoint me. One of the greatest attributes about your show is the female leads. In the television world we get to see a lot of men in leading roles, with females competing for supporting roles. Smash has done an excellent job of allowing a handful of strong, female actresses to take control of the show. They’ve had some wonderful story lines for those actresses, except for this episode, “The Invited Dress”, where Ivy is relied upon to flash the audience to sell more tickets. And over at Hit List Karen is loosing her lead role simply because she refuses to be involved with Derek. This is a low point for the ladies of Smash.
This week Tom is allowed to show off his more comical side,...

A review of tonight's "Parks and Recreation" coming up just as soon as I text you about Michael Stipe... After the high-concept hijinks of last week's bachelor mega-party episode, "Parks and Rec" gets back to basics with "Women in Garbage, an episode with the usual structure of three storylines (plus a running gag involving Chris and Shauna Malwae Tweep) that offer a mix of the professional and personal. But the show has the basics down so pat — it has the fundamentals that Andy and Tom so badly lack on the basketball court — that it doesn't need anything fancy to...

With the surprising end to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' marriage, we’ve decided to take a trip down memory lane of the TomKat phenomenon. Here's a look back at their former lovers, all of whom you've probably heard of before!
Joshua Jackson: Katie's young romances are nothing compared to her marriage to Tom, but obviously it’s hard to forget Pacey and Joey. Katie Holmes fell for her costar while filming the hit Dawson’s Creek in the late 90s. The two actors, who played love interests in the show, were a real life couple for about 11 months before breaking up in 1999. Although Joshua didn’t attend Katie’s 2006 wedding to Tom, the exes are still friends: the two met for coffee back in 2009 in NYC, while Katie was prepping for her role in the Broadway play "All My Sons." If Katie has any plans to get back together with Joshua,...

We open this week with Ivy riding on top of Derek in bed. Sweetie, you already got the part, you can stop banging the director. When they're done she wonders if maybe they could get together sometime and actually work on the role. His response of “That's all we're doing, darling” somehow doesn't lead her to slap his face and roll off him. He calls it a joke and promises to set up a rehearsal time.
Eileen is selling off her jewels. She spots a pair of earrings that the jewelry store clerk says were inspired by a pair Marilyn wore in The Seven Year Itch. For fifty bucks Eileen has to have them.
Karen meets Derek for drinks. He explains that with the show being in such an unfinished state they had to go with Ivy because of her greater experience. Karen makes like she's happy to have landed...

The highlight of yesterday's Bondstars Christmas party at Pinewood Studios was an on-stage talk by Alan Church, who worked with Maurice Binder on many of the James Bond film title sequences. Alan showed the 120+ audience a DVD of behind the scenes footage of Binder filming the titles for Licence To KIll, detailing how he filmed a scantily-clad model dancing around and firing a gun. It was fascinating to see Binder directing every move with attention to detail, using a wind machine, filming with slow-motion cameras, and even painting out skin blemish's on the model's body!

Paul (Mark Moses) and Susan (Teri Hatcher) each receive calls at the same time, but each with completely different news. Paul learns of Beth's (Emily Bergl) death and Susan learns she has a kidney donated by Beth; who is still on life support. Mary Alice: "There are moments that change our lives forever, but not always in the way we might expect it." Mary Alice; "The women of Wisteria Lane look for any excuse to celebrate...a bottle of champagne...a new dress for turning 39 again...so when my friends heard about Susan's good fortune, they just couldn't resist." Gaby (Eva Longoria) shouts out, "Congratulations...kidney" to Susan in the hospital.

Tom Cruise joined John Travolta and Kelly Preston on Friday night for a special event hosted by the Living Legends of Aviation at the Beverly Hilton. While both men are longtime members of the organization, Tom alone was presented with the "Top Aviation Inspiration and Patriotism Award." He wrapped up things at the black tie event, then headed over to join other celebrities at an afterparty for George Clooney's Haiti telethon. Tom was up on Saturday despite his big evening out to do some reshoots on Knight and Day. He was suited up to film his own stunt scenes, showing off his prize-winning love of flying once again.
