To begin the new year with something new, Hulu has added some under-the-radar movies as well as a few big-budget favorites from the past few years to its streaming library.

As January quickly approaches, the latest batch of Hulu films are preparing to hit the streaming platform. Thankfully, their newest slate of offerings appears worthy of viewers’ time. While there’s only one original film in the mix next month, audiences should no doubt look forward to each one as they become available throughout the month.

With a horror film about a cursed knife, a movie about people trying their best in the face of their own struggles, a comedy with a unique premise about a game of life and death, a film about the true origin story of America’s “Miranda rights,” a documentary about a fashion pioneer, Ray Liotta’s final film before his death, and a crime thriller that brings two women together in the wake of their grief, Hulu has quite an array of movies ready to watch during January.

Anglo-French producing and financing outfit Anton has expanded its executive team with new hire Leslie Chen appointed senior vice president of international distribution and sales.

In addition, Louis Balsan has been elevated to executive vice president of international distribution and acquisitions. Both will be part of Anton’s German office reporting directly to Paris-based Cécile Gaget, president of international production and distribution.

Chen joins from AGC Studios, where she was senior vice president of Asian sales and distribution, overseeing projects including Roland Emmerich’s Moonfall and Pierre Morel’s Freelance.
