One day after announcing the departure of longtime band member Frank Ferrer, Guns N’ Roses have announced Isaac Carpenter as their new drummer.

While Carpenter may not be a household name, he has an impressive résumé. He formed the band Loudermilk (later Gosling) in 1995 while he was still in high school, and has been a member of alt-rock band Awolnation since 2014. He has also done session work for a number of notable musicians.

Among the other artists Carpenter has worked with are Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Adam Lambert, Barbarians of California, A Perfect Circle, The Exies, Ours, and Black Lab. He has also done extensive recording for film and television projects.

Ferrer had been Guns N’ Roses’ drummer for 19 years. Yesterday, it was announced that he and the band had parted ways “amicably.”

Guns N’ Roses are set to launch an international tour on May 1st in Incheon, South Korea.

American Idol judge Katy Perry left the ABC talent show, and Carrie Underwood was chosen to take over. The Season 4 winner found a lot of critics, who vented ahead of the March 9 premiere. However, the ratings soared, per The Sun, despite the negativity.

Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie remained as judges, and many people thought that any replacement might have big boots to fill after Katy left. Well, Carrie seemed to be welcomed by viewers. The numbers spoke for themselves, with The Sun noting that “the special even beat out the Season 22 finale with 5,639,000 viewers.” While the March 9 show didn’t beat the Season 22 premiere last year, when “4,620,000 fans tuned in,” Carrie’s debut didn’t kill the show.

In a new interview with Mojo, the guitarist revealed that he and drummer Roger Taylor have been independently working on material — the makings of potential Queen songs — in their respective studios.

Adam Lambert used his birthday as a moment to speak up for change this year.

The Grammy-nominated singer is currently starring as the Emcee in Cabaret on Broadway and he was presented with a giant pineapple-shaped birthday cake during the curtain call on Wednesday night (January 29) at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City.

Cast member David Merino led the celebration for Adam‘s birthday and the performance just so happened to be a benefit for Pride Live and the Stonewall National Monument Visitors Center.

Orville Peck is headed to the Great White Way. Peck will be joining the KitKat Club as the Emcee in Broadway’s current Cabaret revival, replacing Adam Lambert.

The country singer’s Broadway debut will commence on March 31st at the August Wilson Theater. It’s unknown whether Peck will be donning his signature mask for the performance, or whether he’ll be billed by his stage name or his birth name, Daniel Pitout.

He did, however, study at the London Academy of Dramatic Art, tour nationally with several musicals in his early 20s, and even made his West End debut in the farcical Peter Pan Goes Wrong in 2016. Plus, given his mask and old-school country showmanship, Peck knows his way around theatricality.

He’ll be joined by Tony winner Eva Noblezada (Hadestown) who will replace Moana‘s Auli’i Cravalho in the role of Sally Bowles.

The 37-year-old country music star will make his Broadway debut in New York City as Emcee in Cabaret.

Exclusive: Masked country music star Orville Peck and two-time Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada are set as the new Emcee and Sally Bowles of Broadway’s Cabaret at the KitKat Club, producers announced today.

Peck, making his Broadway debut, and Noblezada will play a limited 16-week engagement at the August Wilson Theatre starting Monday, March 31, through Sunday, July 20. They’ll take over for Adam Lambert and Auli‘i Cravalho who, as previously announced, will play their final performances on Saturday evening, March 29.

Casting for the two roles after Sunday, July 20, will be announced this summer. Today’s announcement was made by producers Adam Speers for Atg Productions, Underbelly, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hunter Arnold, Smith & Brant Theatricals, and Wessex Grove.
