Sylvester Stallone will be returning to the big screen to portray Rocky Balboa for the seventh time - but this time only in a supporting role. Instead, the focus will be on the grandson of Apollo Creed, in a movie by the name of, well, Creed.

For a while, this was earmarked as a TV series, but somewhere along the line it seems to have been upgraded to a movie. Michael B Jordan, who will be seen in next year's Fantastic Four reboot, has been earmarked to take the title role in Creed. It's set to be directed by Ryan Coogler, who helmed Jordan in the acclaimed Fruitvale Station.

Furthermore, we're hearing that boxers Andre Ward and Tony Bellow are now in negotiations to join the film.

MGM is bringing on two real-life boxers to go toe-to-toe with Michael B. Jordan in the Rocky spin-off Creed, as the studio enters talks with Andre Ward and Tony Bellew.

We first reported on the project back in July 2013, when Michael B. Jordan signed on to play the grandson of Carl Weathers' Apollo Creed character from the original Rocky franchise. Sylvester Stallone is also returning as Rocky Balboa, who mentors the young boxers. Tony Bellew will play Pretty Ricky Porter, a primary opponent for the title character. No details were given for Andre Ward's character.
