Death claims all of us eventually, even the man who played Death -- better known as William Bludworth -- in the Final Destination horror film franchise. That man, of course, was the genre legend Tony Todd, a prolific character actor beloved by fright fans and science-fiction aficionados for his roles as Death/Bludworth in the Final Destination films, The Candyman in the Candyman films, and multiple roles in the Star Trek universe, including Kurn, Worf’s brother in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Fortunately, before his death on November 6, 2024, at the age of 69, Todd completed several upcoming projects, including Final Destination Bloodlines, which will be released in theaters by Warner Bros. on May 16. Fans of the franchise weren’t sure if Todd actually worked on the project, so his appearance was deemed “rumored” by many fans and also the Internet Movie Database. The official trailer,...

Following yesterday's shattering teaser, New Line has released a full trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines, which will be the sixth instalment in the popular horror franchise (the last movie was released back in 2011).
The footage begins by setting up the carnage to come at a family barbecue, with a rake, a trampoline, a precariously-placed beer bottle and a lawnmower just a few of the everyday household items that will soon become twisted implements of death and destruction.
As any fan will be aware, these are not just a series of tragic accidents, but the actions of Death himself.
After a gruesome death (they seem to be holding back on showing anything overly bloody until the inevitable red-band trailer), we find out that the matriarch of the family once saved her classmates from imminent disaster, and the Grim Reaper has been waiting to take revenge on the family members who "should have never existed.

That macabre menace, that sinister specter, the Grim Reaper, Death himself, is back with some truly outrageous ways of taking out his unsuspecting victims in the new trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines.
The new clip for the latest installment of the horror franchise opens with a truly Rube Goldberg-ian sequence at a backyard BBQ: It starts with a shard of broken glass hidden amongst the ice of someone’s beverage, goes through grill flare-ups, broken trampolines, and an out-of-control hose, before finally ending with what appears to be a lawn mower to the face.

25 years after the beginning of the Final Destination franchise, the horror franchise is still alive and kicking. Almost a decade and a half since the last installment, Final Destination Bloodlines, comes with a different premise following Death.
Warner Bros. officially released the first trailer for the upcoming Final Destination 6, which will shift the story completely. While earlier entries followed strangers who were saved by the right person at the right time and cheated death, the new entry will follow a generational story, with the grandmother saving a big group decades ago and death coming for the entire bloodline that shouldn't have existed.

"Final Destination" isn't the greatest horror franchise in film history (that distinction belongs to George A. Romero's "Dead" movies), but it just might be the most consistently entertaining. It's definitely a property that bucks a lot of the conventional wisdom regarding horror films: The first installment, James Wong's "Final Destination," is easily its weakest, while the fifth chapter is considered by many to be the best of the bunch.
The "Final Destination" franchise may actually be the apotheosis of the slasher genre insofar as such films' primary visceral appeal is the grisly inventiveness of their kills. It's a gore smörgåsbord of Rube Goldberg fatalities carried out by the invisible hand of Death. The movies' formula dictates that any installment must kick off with an extraordinarily complex chain-reaction accident, the survivors of which must scramble to avoid Death's relentless attempts to clear them off the game board. What filmmaker...

The Academy Awards ceremony took place on Sunday night, and as with every year, the show featured an In Memoriam segment honoring some of the movie stars and creatives who've passed away since last year's show. Some keys were left out, with fans of horror legend Tony Todd disappointed not to see the actor included after his passing in November.
Per TMZ, Todd's family has since weighed in on the Candyman star's absence from the In Memoriam segment. The actor's widow, Fatima, said she was left feeling "angry" after the snub. She reportedly believes that there's a "racial element" that resulted in the omission, with the report noting that Fatima feels "people of color and women are often ignored as much as possible" with the Academy's In Memoriam tributes.

It's been nothing but good news for Final Destination fans lately. Not only has the long-awaited sequel, Final Destination: Bloodlines, been in the news this week thanks to the recently released teaser that has everyone pumped, but to top it all off, the entire series was recently added to streaming, and has been dominating the Top 10 charts ever since.
Per Max, the Final Destination franchise has taken over its Top 10 movie chart at the time of this writing, with the original 2000 classic sitting at #4, Final Destination 2 at #6, Final Destination 3 at #9, and Final Destination 5 at #10. Warner Bros. took an interesting approach to the first teaser trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines, releasing a death sequence that effectively reminds us what the Final Destination franchise is all about. It’s been 14 years since the most recent installment, after all, making it a smart choice to usher us back into this world with some classic Final Destination mayhem.
One thing Warner Bros. confirmed for the very first time this week is that the late horror legend Tony Todd, who passed away last November, has a role in Final Destination Bloodlines.
Tony Todd played the enigmatic mortician William Bludworth in Final Destination, Final Destination 2, and Final Destination 5, and he’ll be back in this year’s brand new sequel.
It was recently rumored that Bloodlines would be diving into Bludworth’s backstory, including a flashback to his childhood, but we’ll have to wait a few months to find out.

Death sets one unsuspecting tattoo artist’s business (and body) ablaze in the fiery, gruesome first teaser trailer for “Final Destination Bloodlines.”
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, whose previous credits include 2018’s “Freaks” and the live-action “Kim Possible” movie, the new film comes 14 years after “Final Destination 5” hit theaters in 2011. It’s based on a screenplay by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick (“Scream IV”) and will follow a new assortment of characters as they try to cheat Death and escape the grisly, cartoonishly constructed ends that await them.
The film’s first trailer is a simple return to form for the “Final Destination” franchise. Across its succinct two minutes, the spot follows a tattooist (Richard Harmon) grieving his father’s recent passing who ends up caught literally in a quickly escalating trap set in motion by Death itself. The results are predictably brutal and horrifying.
Check out the teaser below.

Believe it or not, it was 2011 when the last Final Destination movie was released. However, the franchise returns this summer with Final Destination Bloodlines, a movie we've previously heard will be part prequel, part sequel.
According to Warner Bros. and New Line, this sixth instalment "takes audiences back to the very beginning of Death's twisted sense of justice." In today's newly released teaser trailer (via FearHQ.com), we find a tattoo artist surrounded by a series of chain reactions, all of which culminate with his grisly demise. That involves fire, a ceiling fan, and a pretty horrific use of his piercings.
While this is more like an extended clip than a traditional trailer, it promises the sort of death and gore fans of these movies have loved since the series launched in 2000 (feel old yet?).
Whether Final Destination Bloodlines can successfully relaunch the long-running horror property remains to be seen,...

Death Is Back And The Kills Are As Gnarly As Ever In First Trailer For Final Destination: Bloodlines

Horror reboots are all the rage these days. Scream, Scary Movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Saw — you name it, there's a decent chance someone's out there with red string and pins figuring out a fiendish way to bring it back. With that being said, the latest addition to the growing reboot canon is New Line Cinema's Final Destination: Bloodlines, the first new entry in what remains the only major franchise that can proudly boast Death itself as its antagonist since Final Destination 5 some 14 years ago. And if the gnarly first trailer for Freaks directors Adam B. Stein & Zach Lipovsky's upcoming movie is anything to go by, then we may be in for the Grim Reaper's gnarliest killing spree yet. If you have any piercings, proceed with caution:

It’s been 14 years since fans of Final Destination have been treated to a new installment in the horror franchise, but all that is about to change this year with the release of Final Destination: Bloodlines, and the new teaser trailer reveals that Death still has plenty of creative ways to kill people whose time is up. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, Bloodlines features genre great Tony Todd in one of his last film appearances, as well as Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Teo Briones (Chucky), and Kaitlyn Santa Juana (The Flash), to name a few.
