Aleksandr Mazaev is Soviet and Russian director-animator and artist-animator working in hand-drawn animation. In 1966-1968 and 1970-1971 he worked as an engraver of printing forms in the First Exemplary Printing House of Andrei Zhdanov. In 1971-1973, he studied at the courses of animators at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. From 1973 to 1996 Mazaev worked at the Soyuzmultfilm as animator, also put on a number of animated films as a director. Later he collaborated with the studios Argus, Pilot, FAF, Animos and others. . As an animation artist, he worked with almost all classical directors of Soviet and Russian animation, during the heyday of 'Soyuzmultfilm'. Aleksandr Mazaev was also engaged in teaching.
