When the TV series based on the popular video game franchise Twisted Metal made its premiere on the Peacock streaming service back in July of 2023, it quickly became one of Peacock’s top five original series, racking up 400 million viewing minutes in its first weekend and earning the honor of being the streamer’s “most-binged” premiere. An exciting update has been revealed for the second season of Twisted Metal. Along with an updated release window being announced, a new teaser trailer for Season 2 has also been released.

On YouTube, Peacock dropped the new trailer for Twisted Metal Season 2, teasing the continued chaos put on display by Sweet Tooth and other post-apocalyptic drivers. It reveals that Season 2 is set to debut on Peacock in "Summer 2025" with a specific date yet to be announced. Twisted Metal star Anthony Mackie confirms that filming on season 2 has ended with new John Doe behind-the-scenes images. Serving as an adaptation of the Sony Interactive Entertainment video game franchise, the action comedy series premiered on Peacock last year, following Doe as he traverses a post-apocalyptic wasteland to deliver a mysterious package. After earning generally positive reviews and becoming a viewership success, Twisted Metal season 2 was confirmed, with filming kicking off in Canada in July 2024.

Mackie now takes to Instagram to share new behind-the-scenes images from Twisted Metal season 2, showing off Doe in the upcoming batch of episodes. The carousel of five images features several of Mackie between takes wearing a thick winter coat embroidered with a distinctive spider logo, which is a nod to the game franchise. He appears in a rusty vehicle with a cigar in one image, while another shows him in character as Doe, looking over his shoulder.

The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive first look at the promo teases the comedy feature from director and co-writer Morgan Evans. Bruce Campbell has played supporting roles in so many films and TV shows, he once wrote a fictionalized autobiography -- "Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way" -- about how his biggest possible break would be playing a sage-like doorman in a high-profile Hollywood drama starring Richard Gere and Renée Zellweger. Cuddly Kung Fu master Po the Panda returns to the big screen for a fourth instalment of the animated action comedy franchise, eight years after Kung Fu Panda 3. Among the live-action franchise flicks such as Godzilla X Kong and Dune Part Two, the highest-grossing movies worldwide in the first six months of 2024 also include multiple animation films.

While Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire set a new record as the highest-grossing film in franchise history in 2024, movies such as Garfield and Kung Fu Panda 4 were also blockbuster hits.
