
Exclusive: Wisconsin Democrats popularized a trend in political fundraising in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 — cast reunions of The Princess Bride, Veep and Parks And Rec, raising millions in small-dollar contributions.
The party is turning to celebrities again for another event in the build up to the 2022 midterms, with plans for a Nov. 14 fundraiser called Laughing to Save Democracy.
So far confirmed for the online event, to start at 5:30 Pm Pt, are Seth MacFarlane, Jon Lovett, Cary Elwes, Bradley Whitford, Trae Crowder, Roy Wood Jr., Alonzo Bodden, the Sklar Brothers, Jackie Kashian, H. Jon Benjamin and Ben Gleib.
The party has not set a donation amount, as any level will gain access to the event. For an additional cost, participants will be able to get access to a live virtual audience that the comics will be able to hear.
The party is raising money to try to defeat Sen.

The last decade and a half has seen an interesting shift in popular stand up comedy styles. While all styles of stand up offer at least some representatives every decade, even the unfortunate genres of prop and insult comedy, there are particularly popular styles and tones that can define a generation. All through the nineteen seventies almost up to the end of the last millennium, many of our legendary comics like Richard Pryor, George Carlin, & Bill Hicks were filled with righteous indignation, poignantly attacking society's ills in an aggressive, outward manner from their own personal perspectives. Many of today's popular comics continue to speak out against those same human and societal flaws, but the manner of attack has shifted: instead of pointing the finger of blame outward, they partially point it at themselves.
They have been labeled Alternative Comedians but are so popular...

Madonna did Not change the name of "Girls Gone Wild" because of threats from "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis -- this according to her manager, Guy Oseary.Oseary tells TMZ ... he found it laughable that Francis claimed victory after allegedly sending Madonna a cease and desist letter, ordering her not to perform her single "Girls Gone Wild" at the Super Bowl. In fact, Oseary says no one from team Madonna ever received the letter.

Late night talk show host Chelsea Handler beat out comedian Ellen DeGeneres as the funniest woman on the Web, according to a list released Tuesday.
The list by PeekYou, a search engine that ranks individuals' online prominence, found that Handler was picked as the top 10 women who cracks the best jokes on television and on Twitter and Facebook.
DeGeneres came in second place, while other funny ladies like Kathy Griffin, Maria Bamford and Jackie Kashian followed behind.
The top list also made room for Handlers' friends and frequent panelists on E!'s "Chelsea Lately" show, including Jen Kirkman, Lonnie Love, Natasha Leggero, Heather McDonald and Sarah Colonna.
