A veteran of the film, music and entertainment industry, Jordan Schur has garnered a reputation for creating and overseeing innovative and highly profitable ventures.
Jordan Schur's first major success was founding Flip Records, a label he created in 1994 that launched the careers of world-renowned artists such as Limp Bizkit and Staind, among others. To date Flip Records has sold over 60M albums worldwide.
In 1999, the 35 year-old Schur took over as President of Geffen Records, at the time making him the youngest label head in the music industry, quickly relaunching the label to great success. In 2003, Schur became the President of MCA records, and shortly after as well oversaw the acquisition of DreamWorks Records, with both respected, established companies absorbed into the newly composed Geffen Records label.
Under Schur's oversight during his tenure, the newly relaunched Geffen Label drove over $2B in revenue for the Universal Music Group. Geffen artists at that time included Beck, Blink-182, Enrique Iglesias, Snoop Dogg, Nirvana, Guns And Roses, Peter Gabriel, Mary J. Blige, Weezer, The Roots, Counting Crows, Nelly Furtado, among others.
In 2006, after departing Geffen Records, Jordan Schur went on to found Suretone Entertainment Group.
The multifaceted company comprised Suretone Records, SJS Management, Suretone Publishing, and Suretone Entertainment. Suretone Entertainment Group artists past and present include Limp Bizkit, The Cure, New Found Glory, Angels And Airwaves, From First To Last, Shwayze, Chris Cornell, Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, Collective Soul, Sayyi, and DED among others.
In 2009, Schur partnered with longtime friend David Mimran to form Mimran Schur Pictures, with a view to pursuing movie development and production deals in line with their unique creative vision.
In 2010, Mimran Schur Pictures released its first film, 'Stone', distributed by Overture Films. The explosive psychological drama starred Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, directed by the notable John Curran ('The Killer Inside').
In 2011, Mimran Schur Pictures released its second feature, 'Henry's Crime', distributed by Moving Pictures Film and Television, a deadpan caper film starring Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga, James Caan and Fisher Stevens, directed by Malcolm Venville ('44 Inch Chest').
In 2011, Mimran Schur Pictures partnered with Lionsgate Films to release 'Warrior', an action-packed family drama starring Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton and Nick Nolte, who received an Academy Award nomination for his haunting portrayal of an alcoholic father, and directed by rising star Gavin O'Connor ('Miracle', 'The Accountant', 'The Way Back').
In 2013, Mimran Schur Pictures released in partnership with Mosaic Media Group and Lionsgate Films Entertainment the film 'Rapturepalooza', starring Anna Kendrick, Craig Robinson, Ken Jeong in an ensemble cast, and directed by Paul Middledditch.
In 2013, Suretone Entertainment Group expanded to include its film division of Suretone Pictures, with a roster of developing film and TV projects.
In 2013, Suretone Pictures releases its first film, the acclaimed 'Pawn Shop Chronicles', starring Paul Walker, Matt Dillon, Elijah Wood, Brendan Fraser, Norman Readus, among an ensemble of actors, and directed by Wayne Kramer ('The Cooler', 'Running Scared').
In 2018, Mimran Schur Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Entertainment released the buddy comedy film 'Holmes & Watson', starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, and directed by Etan Cohen ('Get Hard', 'Tropic Thunder').
In 2019, Suretone Pictures in accordance with Mimran Schur Pictures released 'The Kid', starring Ethan Hawke, Chris Pratt, Dane DeHaan, Jake Schur, Leila George, directed by acclaimed actor Vincent D'Onofrio in his directorial debut, and released by Lionsgate Films Entertainment.
In 2020, Suretone Pictures recently released 'One Nation Under God', starring Kevin Sorbo, Capser Van Dien, Robert Belushi, Isaak Presley, in a film about spiritual faith in one's decisions and the widely debated issue of freedom of speech and released by Atlas Media Group with 25 award notices at various US Film Festivals.
In 2021, Suretone Pictures and Lionsgate Films Entertainment announced they were partnering in developing, filming and releasing the film 'Revenge Wedding', a romantic comedy based on a nightmare wedding, which Jordan Schur will produce alongside fellow producers Andrew O'Connor and Kristin Burr.
In 2021, Suretone Pictures film 'Creepers' is in development, an adventure film with elements of horror, thriller and supernatural, based on the best-selling book by David Morrell, and to be directed by the acclaimed director Marc Klasfeld.
In 2021, Suretone Pictures and Mimran Schur Pictures is in development with their film 'Five Against A Bullet', which shall be produced by Jordan Schur, David Mimran, Lorenzo Di Bonaventura ('Transformers') and Cassian Elwes ('Dallas Buyers Club').
In 2021, Jordan Schur entered the Crypto industry as he became a founding partner of OTLW Crypto (Outlaw Cryptocurrency) a soon to be released Token in accordance with a newly created play-to-earn game. The OTLW community meta verse design is being led by former Disney/Pixar Exec Bob Bacon (Virtue Studio), with the OTLW game theory and design being created by WEVR Studios and partnered with EPIC Games, led by Anthony Batt. The OTLW Token and game is to be launched in 2022. A subsidiary company to the endeavor includes MVE Crypto Wallet and Credit Card, where Fiat and Crypto will be exchanged in various territories outside of the US starting in 2022.
Schur's earlier business ventures include Schur Industries, which comprised Arrow Novelty, a century old souvenir business based out of New York, along with Cityside Archives, a document storage business, and additionally Jordan Realty, a Manhattan based real estate company which maintains a portfolio of properties in and around New York City.
Schur's charitable activities include his steadfast support of the Baby2Baby charitable foundation since its inception, the esteemed Art of Elysium Foundation, as well as Schur's past 4 year Co-Chairmanship with Woody Johnson's esteemed foundation, Lupus Research Alliance.
