Alan Ritchson is one of the most common fancasts for the Caped Crusader within the newly birthed Dcu. He’s proven he can act in Reacher and is not a stranger when it comes to superhero universes having starred as Hawk in Titans and made an appearance as Aquaman in Smallville, and he definitely has the physical presence to be a very menacing version of Batman. Although, he’s still most recognizable to many folks as Thad Castle from Blue Mountain State.
Now, Ritchson’s Reacher co star Roberto Montesino has weighed in on Ritchson playing the Dark Knight, and he loves the idea. Speaking to ScreenRant, Montesino had the following to say:
“What would he bring to that role? First of all, his work ethic, his research, his command of a character. For example, in Lee Child's books, when you're reading the book? Reacher walks into a room,...

2025 has been a slow year for movies so far, as new and original films that people have been craving underperformed severely. Just recently, exciting motion pictures like the sci-fi satire Mickey 17, the action comedy Novocaine, and the spy thriller Black Bag have been pulling in less-than-stellar financial numbers despite the critical praise they've gotten. This current trend has movie fans worried that the products they're enjoying won't make a huge commercial splash.
It's not just the current year of 2025 either. 2024, the year before, also had its fair share of fantastic movies that failed to make a grand impact at the box office. These films had either spectacular action, brilliantly executed concepts, an engaging true-story narrative, or became an unexpectedly magnificent installment in a long-running franchise. Between Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Transformers One, and Better Man, these otherwise acclaimed 2024 movies were unfortunate box office disappointments.

Actor Alan Ritchson has become a fan-favorite actor. First introduced to many in his roles as Aquaman in Smallville and Thad in Blue Mountain State, Ritchson would become increasingly well-known thanks to playing Hank Hall in the Titans TV series. His subsequent leading role in Reacher as Jack Reacher would solidify his action acting chops. A co-star credit in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare alongside Henry Cavill would further cement his status as a star.
Yet, before the roles modern Ritchson had become known for, he attempted to break into the industry in a big way by writing, directing, and starring in the comedy action film, Dark Web: Cicada 3301. The movie was largely overlooked upon release and has become a side note in Ritchson's career. But should the movie be unearthed and re-visited? Does it say anything about Ritchson as a creative? Here is what you need to know...

“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson didn’t hold back in a recent GQ interview, where he opened up about his turbulent relationship with former high school classmate and controversial politician Matt Gaetz. The actor, known for his physical roles and intense presence on screen, got even more intense when discussing Gaetz—calling him an “adversary” and questioning how he continues to receive support from voters despite his scandals.
“That motherf**ker. We are adversaries,” Ritchson said, making it clear that their tension dates back to their school days in Florida. While he didn’t go into detail about the exact nature of their conflict, he expressed disbelief over Gaetz’s political endurance. “It’s shocking to me that the panhandle of Florida continues to vote for somebody—knowing everything we know about him… He’s just not a good dude.”

The role of Batman in the Dcu has yet to be cast, and Reacher actor has thrown his name into the cowl to potentially get the part. This possibility had garnered the endorsement of one of Ritchson's Reacher co-stars.
Roberto Montesinos, who plays DEA Agent Guillermo Villlanueva in Reacher, commented to Screen Rant on the potential casting of Ritchson as Batman in a live-action project. Montesinos explained that, in addition to his physique and work ethic, Ritchson is extraordinarily talented in how well he's able to convey emotions with just his facial expressions. Altogether, it makes Montesinos feel very confident that Ritchson would be the best Batman that fans have ever seen.

Prime Video's Reacher, now in its third season, has seen its titular character go up against a plethora of antagonists. However, none have been as formidable, at least size-wise, as Season 3's Paulie. Played by Olivier Richters, famously known as 'The Dutch Giant,' Paulie takes away one of Reacher's biggest trump cards: his size.
Having first gained fame in the bodybuilding field, Richters plays bodyguard and henchman to Zachary Beck (Anthony Hall) under the orders of Xavier Quinn, Aka Julius McCabe (Brian Tee). Suffice it to say that Alan Ritchson's Reacher and Richter's Paulie do not have a good relationship. However, the hostility between the duo is confined to screens. Richters has recently revealed that it was, in fact, Ritchson who helped him get the role of Paulie in Reacher Season 3.

Adapted from the novels of author Lee Child,Reacheris now one of Prime Video's most successful series. With an impressive 92% on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer for its debut season, the series is now on its third leg, with the latest season taking to screens last month. Reacher Season 3 is based on Lee Child's seventh Jack Reacher novel, Persuader. The question of who will play Batman in the Dcu has thrown up almost as many potential candidates as the list of James Bond hopefuls, and just like the casting of the world-famous super spy, we are still no closer to knowing who will step into the role. However, among those who would give anything to be cast as the next Dark Knight is Alan Ritchson, something with plenty of experience of beating up bad guys and certainly beefy enough for the role. And it seems one of his Reacher costars is advocating for his casting in the role.

There's a moment in season 3 of "Reacher" where the titular ex-military policeman seems genuinely vulnerable in a way that he hasn't thus far in Prime Video's massively popular streaming series. The latest season of the show is based on the best Jack Reacher book, "Persuader," and sees Alan Ritchson's hero going undercover at the mansion of businessman Zachary Beck, whose business isn't exactly on the level. There, he encounters what might be his biggest challenge yet — "biggest" being the operative word.
Paulie, played by 7-foot 2-inch Dutch bodybuilder Olivier Richters, is the bodyguard who mans the front gate at Beck's mansion, and he's about as physically intimidating as they come. The hulking henchman somehow makes the already-massive Ritchson look small, and throughout season 3 of "Reacher," we're teased with an impending showdown between the two bruisers. Following the rip-roaring events of last week's episode in the Prime Video knockout Reacher, in which the titular protagonist (Alan Ritchson) finally came face-to-face with his arch nemesis Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) and had to literally put the pedal-to-the-metal after his cover was blown, devoted viewers are growing more and more excited as the season finale draws nearer. An enraged Quinn sent the vicious behemoth Paulie (Olivier Richters) and his other henchmen to take out Reacher, but of course, they were no match for the formidable and fierce hero.
Worried that she has no way of ever finding Teresa (Storm Steenson) now that Reacher's been exposed as a rat, Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) is shocked when he claims that they may have another angle to work after all, ending Episode 6 on a cliffhanger when he declares they're heading to Los Angeles. This article contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 3, episode 7.
"Reacher" season 3 differs from the previous two seasons in many ways. This is the first time we've seen Alan Ritchson's hero undercover, sleuthing his way around a mansion just as his literary counterpart does in Lee Child's book, "Persuader," on which this season of "Reacher" is based. It's also a big change from season 2, which saw the titular ex-Army man joined by members of his 110th Special Investigations unit. But there's one big theme that has characterized all three seasons of the streaming series thus far: Revenge.
Season 1 saw Reacher gain revenge for the death of his brother, season 2 followed him and his former Army colleagues as they sought vengeance for the death of erstwhile 110th unit members, and season 3 sees Reacher once again seeking revenge, this time for the death of his former protégé and Army sergeant Dominique Kohl...

Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors. He has drawn attention to himself due to his action-packed roles and interest in doing his own stunts, no matter how absurd and dangerous they might get—from hanging from a flying plane, jumping a bike off a cliff, and taking a huge leap from one building to another, which even broke his foot.
Despite the dangers, he has not backed away from adding authenticity to his films. Due to this quality, he has become the symbol of great cinema. If he is acting in a movie, viewers consider it a must-watch, expecting top-tier performances and thrilling stories.
He gained a lot of fame after his role in Tony Scott’s film Top Gun (1986), and since then, he has gained a reputation for acting in action-packed movies. However, there are a lot of great underrated movies that have flown under the audience’s radar,...

Prime Video’s Reacher has been a massive hit, with the latest season pulling in impressive viewership numbers. But for the equally impressive Alan Ritchson, who brings the towering ex-military investigator Jack Reacher to life, the real excitement comes when his character faces a true challenge on screen. While Reacher has always leaned into the character’s imposing physicality—faithfully adapting Lee Child’s vision of a near-unstoppable force with hands the size of Turkeys and abs that can't be penetrated by bullets—Ritchson argues that an invincible hero makes for dull storytelling. True, although a man whose muscles are so big from digging swimming pools is still hilarious.

Reacher star Alan Ritchson recalls "crushing" his lengthy audition and winning the lead role in the show, despite Amazon having promised it to someone else. Based on Lee Child's Jack Reacher novel series, the hit Prime Video adaptation premiered in 2022, following Ritchson as the titular former military police officer as he travels from town to town taking down criminals. Reacher recently returned for season 3, earning some of the show's most positive reviews yet with its adaptation of Child's Persuader novel, propelling Ritchson to yet new heights as a leading man.
In a recent video for Wired in which he answers questions suggested by Google's autocomplete search feature, Ritchson reveals that he wasn't actually the original choice to star in Reacher and that another actor had been promised the part. Though Ritchson doesn't reveal the name of the other actor in question, he explains that he was ultimately...

When it comes to thrilling shows online, only some manage to grab the full attention of the viewers. In this, adaptations hold a special place, given the huge popularity of Game of Thrones, which was based on the novels of author George R.R. Martin. The same was true for Reacher as well, which was based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books.

Throughout film history, filmmakers have resorted to a plethora of methods to balance an actor’s height in the context of the scene, whether utilizing some special tools or forced-perspective framing. Tom Cruise allegedly used shoe lifts for his work, a method Don Adams used during his stint on Get Smart, which starred Barbara Feldon, who was considerably taller than him.

Tom Welling’s Older Superman & Smallville’s Justice League Don Armored Upgraded Suits In Epic DC Art

Smallville's Justice League comes back together for a new adventure in exciting DC art that imagines an older version of the team with armored superhero suits. Tom Welling's Clark Kent only became Superman in the final episode of the live-action DC TV show. However, he went on multiple missions with other heroes, such as Alan Ritchson's Aquaman, Justin Hartley's Green Arrow, and Serinda Swan's Zatanna, throughoutSmallville's ten seasons. Some of the show's heroes ended up becoming part of Smallville's prototype version of the Justice League, and they now return in new DC art.
On Instagram, @buffy2ville shared what Tom Welling's older Superman and Smallville's Justice League could look like today with armored, modern suits.

Alan Ritchson tells the amusing story of how he scored a role onNew Girlas a man with a micro-penis. The Reacher star is as huge as can be right now, both in terms of physical bulk, and when it comes to his acting career. But there was a time before Ritchson was quite so big, when he was willing to take on just about any job, including a small part in a sitcom playing a man with an unfortunate condition.
Ritchson’s New Girl season 4 guest spot as Jess’s poorly-endowed paramour gave the future action hero a memorable early-ish role, and as it happens, the story behind how he got the role is itself memorable, as he recalled during a recent appearance. Ritchson begins his story by recounting the time he was trying his hand as a screenwriter and needed a nocturnal pick-me-up (via Wired):

If there are two things Jack Reacher is going to do, it's crush bad guys with his bare hands and drop extremely obscure references to middle infielders who once played for the New York Yankees ... and he's all out of bad guys to crush. "Reacher" season 3 has been busy living up to the hype as the best installment of the Prime Video series since the first, throwing Alan Ritchson's brawny title character and his newfound ally/love interest Susan Duffy on a collision course with some of the biggest bads in author Lee Childs' entire franchise. But as much as these episodes have been taking their cues from the best of the books, one particularly funny moment from the season 3 premiere has to do with Reacher's trademark personality quirk from the source material: an encyclopedic knowledge of random Major League Baseball players.

Reacher has just bulldozed its way back onto Prime Video, and, according to the streamer, Season 3 has smashed the performance of its previous seasons to deliver the biggest debut of the series so far. As per Variety, the show’s latest outing has drawn a surge in viewership that eclipses the impressive debuts of Seasons 1 and 2 combined. For fans who’ve been tracking the series since its inception, it suggests that Alan Ritchson could get his wish of wanting to play Jack Reacher for a long time to come.
Reacher opened its Prime video account with a strong Season 1. The recently released third season of Prime Video's hit series Reacher is drawing viewership proportional to the size of its protagonist. Based on the book series by Lee Child, Reacher follows the exploits of the hulking Jack Reacher, played in the show by Alan Ritchson. The third season set the record for the highest-ever viewership for a returning series on Prime Video, and emerged as the streamer's biggest show since the video game adaptation Fallout, which debuted last year. Reacher accrued nearly 55 million views in the first 19 days of its debut, and remained the number one show on Prime Video each day of the past week.

Fans of Prime Video’s Reacher are well accustomed to Jack Reacher’s colossal stature and Alan Ritchson's imposing on-screen presence. Jason Momoa is best known for his role as Aquaman in the Dceu, but he first gained his shot at fame with Game of Thrones. The actor played the Dothraki emperor Khal Drogo and was paired up with Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. Momoa’s brief but memorable performance as the silent and brooding Khal impressed fans and critics alike.
Looking at Momoa, it is obvious that he is a strong man, who has severely bulked up since his short stint on Game of Thrones. However, co-creator and showrunner David Benioff reportedly took the foolish journey to discovering just how strong Momoa was by challenging him to not one but two tests of strength, thus severely injuring himself.

The following contains spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 6, "Smoke on the Water," now streaming on Prime Video.
One major hallmark of Prime Video's Reacher is the titular character's ability to improvise, and Season 3 is no different. In this case, it's not just about adapting to fights; Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher has to pivot to make Zachary Beck and Francis Xavier Quinn think he is part of their criminal empire.
Unfortunately, that undercover ruse has come to an end. Season 3, Episode 6, "Smoke on the Water," finds Reacher's cover blown and the numbers against him. As he goes on the run, however, he copies an iconic scene from a classic 1980s film. More specifically, Reacher homages the mud scene from Predator, which makes perfect sense given the hero's combat style and attitude.

Based on the series of books by Lee Child, each season of Reacher thus far has been adapted from one of Child’s novels. As the show progresses, some have questioned whether the series will continue beyond its source material. While there are plenty of shows that stray beyond the books they’re adapted from, Reacher doesn’t need to be one of them. Sure, the series could continue past Child’s numerous novels if it chose to, but it certainly doesn’t need to.

For any low-paid thug or arrogant hot head that doesn't mind their manners, Alan Ritchson can look pretty scary and has done so for three seasons of "Reacher" so far (read our review of "Reacher" season 3 right here). What's surprising is that the tower of heroism that regularly thumps bad guys was pretty scared himself to take on the role. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his journey to tackling the hero, Ritchson revealed the pressure he felt when auditioning for the part and the legacy that came with it. By that point, author Lee Child's hero was still thriving on bookshelves but not so much in the efforts of adapting him to the screen. Tom Cruise, for all his star power, couldn't make Reacher the big-screen blockbuster franchise he was setting out to make (Childs has since agreed that Cruise wasn't the right choice), so anyone picking up the...
