The famous Albuquerque home that was used to represent Walter White's house in Breaking Bad is now up for sale. Potential buyers should be forewarned, however, that owning the home will come with a risk of getting pizzas thrown onto the roof.
Per Kob 4 in New Mexico, the Breaking Bad house has hit the market more than a decade after the original series ended its run. The house was made famous when it was used as the home for the White family in the show, but the owners hadn't foreseen just how iconic it would become when they first agreed to let the TV film there. At first, the family members living there welcomed fans who stopped by to take pictures at the house, but as the popularity of Breaking Bad grew, it became excessive.

Sons of Anarchy features many characters who are both fan favorites but also irredeemable. Set in a world of crime and chaos, bad situations lead to even worse choices. Before anyone realizes, things are too far gone to be saved.
Shows with no redeemable characters have their own charm. They tend to tackle dark and forbidden topics like revenge, cannibalism and war. Many shows have irredeemable characters like Jax. They may have done one really bad thing, or they have done several over the course of the entire series. From House of the Dragon to Yellowjackets to Breaking Bad, these pitch-black and morally grey characters have caused fans to think about the damning choices they made.

Cinema has long been one of the best mediums for storytelling, with a range of dynamic and talented actors helping bring to life these stories. While all major actors turn in memorable careers that span numerous roles, some actors leave an indelible mark on a particular character. Although these actors can have other iconic characters under their belt, there's no denying that a role becomes almost synonymous with their performer.
Although Hollywood doesn't always stick the landing with some castings, others are so strong that it can be difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. This similarly applies to TV, where actors will spend years playing the same character as the two progressively blend into one person. Indeed, some characters are so inseparable from their actors that it's almost impossible to recast without angering fans or failing to live up to expectations.

Heisenberg has returned with a special message for anyone thinking about littering. Bryan Cranston has appeared in a public service ad campaign as his Breaking Bad character to discourage people from littering in the state of New Mexico.
Per the NY Post, the new ads featuring Cranston were first unveiled in an arthouse movie theater in Santa Fe. The PSA is called "Breaking Bad Habits," and it features Cranston's Walter White rolling a barrel through the New Mexico desert, similar to how he'd done so in a memorable Breaking Bad scene. In the PSA, however, Walter is revealed to be collecting trash from the ground left behind by careless litterbugs. Squashing a paper cup from Los Polos Hermanos, the drug kingpin warns, "Keep litter out of my territory." The ad spot, shared online by New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, can be watched below.

Walter poisoned Brock in season 4 of Breaking Bad but the truth didn't come out until the following year. The character Brock Cantillo (Ian Posada) was the six-year-old son of Jesse Pinkman's girlfriend, Andrea (Emily Rios). Brock greatly admired Jesse and the two would often hang out and bond. After Jesse and Andrea broke up, he continued to send them money through Saul Goodman. The pair reunited in Breaking Bad season 4, but shortly after, Brock was rushed to the hospital with a serious illness which turned out to be because Walt poisoned Brock.
At first, Jesse believed that Brock was given the ricin that was intended for villain Gus Fring. He thought that Walt stole the ricin and gave it to Brock as a way to punish Jesse for getting too close to Gus. When confronted, however, Walt gave Jesse the idea that it must have been Gus who used the ricin to harm Brock.

Sometimes, TV shows introduce characters who seem fundamental to the story, but it becomes clear that the writers aren't sure what to do with them after their initial storyline. The result is often that the TV show will repeat the same story many times, focusing on one character. Maybe said character will eventually be written out of the show when the actor or writers have had enough, but they may be needed for one particular future storyline.
Some TV show love interests that were suddenly dropped and great female TV characters that deserved better ended up in these circumstances because creativity had run out concerning their arcs. Great TV shows should effectively use all their characters, at least providing a reason for them to be shelved for a while if screen time is limited. However, it is hard to feel like some shows did not waste characters when they are...

Breaking Bad is as much about the criminal drug underworld as it is about the protagonists dark journey from upstanding man to power-hungry drug lord. From start to finish, Breaking Bad saw characters die horrifying deaths. Some of them were especially heartbreaking, like Gale (David Costabile), Hank (Dean Norris), Jane (Krysten Ritter), and Andrea (Emily Rios). But others were strangely satisfying.

The need and desire to see Black, Brown, Asian and Indigenous people on screen has yet to be completely fulfilled by Hollywood, but there has been a recent uptick in Aapi and Bipoc representation on screen. (Spoiler alert: Do not read this post if you have not watched “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.”)
“El Camino” ends with Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) taking care of one final piece of business. Or at least, he enlists fixer Ed to finish the job.
When the vacuum-shop owner drops Jesse off in Alaska to start anew, the free former meth cook hands Ed a “goodbye” letter. Though not privy to its contents, the audience catches a glimpse of the name on the envelope: Brock Cantillo.
In case that name doesn’t jump out at you, allow us to refresh your memory. Brock Cantillo (played by Ian Posada) is the young child of Jesse’s girlfriend from “Breaking Bad” Seasons 3-5, Andrea (Emily Rios).
When we — and Jesse — first met Andrea and her son, Brock was 6 years old. He should be about 8 now by the time Ed makes it to the Mexico City post office.

Two months before Regina King finished her Netflix series Seven Seconds, she had already decided that in regards to her next project, “I’m not playing anybody’s mama.”
“I’m cool, don’t send me anything for five years with ‘Mama’ attached,” King recalled telling her reps.
But then Beale Street director/writer Barry Jenkins sent her the quintessential matriarch role, that of Sharon Rivers, a future-mother-in-law who literally goes the distance to prove the innocence of Fonny, her daughter’s fiance. Sharon is a woman in the state of crisis who balances the scales and possesses a great sense of empathy, particularly when putting herself in other’s shoes.
What changed King’s mind after meeting Jenkins? He “understands collaboration, and I feel like if I’m going to learn, it’s important to leave a situation better,” said the Oscar nominated supporting actress at an Awardsline screening this week.

Barry Jenkins left us in awe with his lush, nuanced storytelling in 2016's Moonlight, and now, he's poised to do it again with the drama If Beale Street Could Talk. Due in theaters on Dec. 25, it's already a critical darling with three Golden Globe nominations to its name - and award season has barely begun.
In his latest project, Jenkins adapts James Baldwin's book of the same name, the title of which alludes to W.C. Handy's "Beale Street Blues." It pays homage to the Memphis street that became a bustling cultural spot for black artists and activists in the 20th century. Baldwin grounds his novel in 1970s Harlem, but there's a timelessness to it that resonates with the buildup to the civil rights movements and the current Black Lives Matter movement. And while it respects context, the book also develops its characters' internal lives with a tragic story that'll haunt you.

Annapurna’s If Beale Street Could Talk from writer-director Barry Jenkins is among the headlining Specialty rollouts this weekend. Beale Street is the first title to come from Annapurna’s three-year production deal with Plan B Entertainment. The film will have a somewhat slow rollout before going wide later next month. IFC Films is going out day and date with Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier’s Cannes premiere The House That Jack Built, starring Matt Dillon. The film had select directors-cut showings one day last month, which resulted in an MPAA dressing-down. And Sony Pictures Classics is opening fellow Cannes premiere, Capernaum, which is Lebanon’s foreign-language Oscar entry. Spc is touting the performances of its young cast as among the “best ever” for child leads.

Faith in a very pure romantic attraction between two people was the dramatic core of Barry Jenkins’ Oscar-winning “Moonlight,” and that same faith is the animating principle of his much-anticipated follow-up, “If Beale Street Could Talk,” a rich but very unwieldy adaptation of James Baldwin’s 1974 novel.
“Moonlight” originated in a story from the gifted playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, and Jenkins was able to make the narrative of that sensitive film his own by applying a poetic kind of stealth to the subjective visuals. But Baldwin’s “If Beale Street Could Talk” makes for a much more demanding and intimidating authorial basis for a movie.
Tish Rivers (KiKi Layne) and Fonny Hunt have known each other since they were children. Jenkins’ film, like Baldwin’s novel, is told from Tish’s point of view and moves backward and forward in time in a way that suggests puzzle pieces scattered out on a table.

Tish Rivers (KiKi Layne) and Fonny Hunt have known each other since they were children. Jenkins’ film, like Baldwin’s novel, is told from Tish’s point of view and moves backward and forward in time in a way that suggests puzzle pieces scattered out on a table.

Love — intimate, familial and fraternal — infuses director Barry Jenkins’ ravishing adaptation of the 1974 James Baldwin novel about a battered romance that refuses to be a tragedy. Following up his Best Picture Oscar win for Moonlight, the writer-director opens his third film with Tish Rivers (KiKi Layne), 19, and Alonzo Hunt, a.k.a. Fonny (Stephan James), 22, strolling along the Hudson river. The fact that they’re wearing bright colors, which channels the sunny opening of Jacques Demy’s The Umbrellas of Cherbourg instead of the Horror City of 1970s New York,...

Opening in theaters in December. Based on James Baldwin's 1974 novel of the same name, If Beale Street Could Talk is about a woman in Harlem desperately trying to prove her fiancé innocent of a crime while she is carrying their first child. Kiki Layne stars as Tish, along with Stephan James as her fiancé "Fonny", and the exceptional full ensemble cast includes Teyonah Parris, Regina King, Colman Domingo, Brian Tyree Henry, Dave Franco, Ed Skrein, Michael Beach, Finn Wittrock, Aunjanue Ellis, Diego Luna, Pedro Pascal, and Emily Rios. The following essay was produced as part of the 2018 Nyff Critics Academy, a workshop for aspiring film critics that took place during the 56th edition of the New York Film Festival.
Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk” is a powerful reflection of the Black American experience, a love story layered in beautiful colors and poetic language juxtaposed with the slow-burning tragedy of a family’s fate. That James Baldwin’s 1974 novel, which depicts the inherent racism of the criminal justice system, is relevant enough to be adapted into a movie in 2018 says a great deal about America’s progress, or rather lack thereof.
While there have been other recent films and television series that shed light on the predatory ways in which the judicial system baits Black men into taking plea deals, including “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” and “The Central Park Five,” “Beale Street” is one of the...

The Notebook is covering Tiff with an on-going correspondence between critics Kelley Dong and Daniel Kasman.Yes If Beale Street Could TalkDear Danny,I must admit that I have not been knocked over nearly enough at this year’s festival, save for some unexpected exceptions. We've discussed the efficacy of issue-oriented programming that begets rash and shoddily constructed filmmaking that boasts responsiveness over formal precision—fiery punches with bad aim. Sometimes these ambitions stem from an eagerness to cope with the fear of the future by forcefully proposing easy answers to the why and how our present came to be. Other times, this paranoia is instead assuaged with reassurance of what we already know to be true, values that last across generations. In a non-chronological sequence of events, Barry Jenkins’s If Beale Street Could Talk—an adaptation of James Baldwin's 1974 novel—does not revise the past so much...

Oscar-winning director Barry Jenkins made a stop at the Deadline Studio ahead of the Toronto Film Festival premiere of If Beale Street Could Talk, his adaptation of the 1974 novel by James Baldwin. The story follows a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover’s innocence while pregnant with their first child.
“There was something very pure about young black love that was depicted and also the family dynamic of the Rivers and the Hunts families,” said Jenkins about why he decided on this piece out of Baldwin’s numerous works. “It just grabbed me.”
Jenkins made waves with his 2016 Oscar-winning Moonlight, and although there is much anticipation surrounding his followup, the director isn’t really feeling the pressure.
“When I adapted the book, I wrote it the same time I wrote Moonlight. I didn’t have the rights. It created a pressure-free environment so...

Perhaps this is a bit of “Kingdom” bias speaking, but Jonathan Tucker is exactly what “Snowfall” needs in Season 2 — and he’s exactly what it gets. The lively, charming actor who recently graced “Westworld” and became a fan favorite in “Justified,” “The Black Donnellys,” and more steps into FX’s ’80s L.A. drug series and does more than his standard, A-grade character work; he pops, charms, and is so darn generous in his scenes, the charisma spreads to his screen partners. He’s the missing ingredient many dramas need these days, whether it’s literally Jonathan Tucker or what he represents: an attention-grabbing kick in the pants that makes everyone sit up and take notice.
Tucker and his new character, Matt McDonald — an ex-Vietnam pilot and brother of Teddy, the overworked CIA agent played by Carter Hudson — are emblematic of what writers Dave Andron, Eric Amadio, and John Singleton...

If there’s any worry that the Disney-Fox deal may sanitize the often-gritty dramas that make up the Fox-owned FX Networks, it’s not coming from producers of “Snowfall.”
“I would hope Disney understands what they have in FX and they get continue to do the great work they’ve been doing,” executive producer and writer Dave Andron told Variety at the second season premiere of the drama Monday.
Andron noted that FX’s brand is unique on its own, and he doesn’t think about the acquisition very much because of that. In fact, if anything, he thinks that because FX is different than the other properties involved, it’s an asset.
“When you acquire FX, part of what you acquire is John Langraff and his sensibility and everyone he’s curated to work with him,” he said. “I think Disney needs some edge.”
