Jimena Gallardo was born in Mexico City. She earned a degree in Philosophy and Human Sciences at the Universidad Claustro Sor Juana in Mexico City as well a degree in Film Screenplay at the Centro de Capacitacion Cinematografica (Film Training Center). As a writer has worked for TV UNAM (National University Public Channel), Channel 22, TV Azteca and Once TV Mexico.
In 2013 she became Creator / Executive Producer and Writer of the miniseries "Cronica de Castas" (The Caste Chronicles) for Once TV.
The Caste Chronicles is now considered the most important TV series ever made in Mexico due to its raw language and the way it approached actual Mexican social issues.
