After a string of successful projects, it seems that Ana de Armas’ career is definitely on an upward spiral. After Blade Runner 2049, Blonde, Knives Out, and No Time to Die, she is set to star in the John Wick spin-off Ballerina, and we’ve recently reported that she is in negotiations to star in Tom Cruise’s upcoming project Deeper.

Now, another rumor has surface and according to what it says, Warner Bros. has offered de Armas the lead role in its upcoming rom-com/disaster movie project.

The movie in question is titled Disaster Wedding and it was originally slated for a 2024 release, but that fell through. We know that the movie will be a wedding movie that blends traditional rom-com elements with disaster movie aspects, which seems quite interesting at this point.

When Mr. Wick (Keanu Reeves) began his mission for revenge in Chad Stahelski's first John Wick movie, he did so with the help of some underground allies. Alongside Marcus (Willem Dafoe), Charon (Lance Reddick), and Winston (Ian McShane), Mr. Wick was aided by the mechanic of the criminal underworld, Aurelio (John Leguizamo). The character was set up to be a long-term player in the franchise, but Aurelio wasn't seen after the first film. Deeper has been described as a supernatural thriller, but aside from that, details are scarce. Aside from Liman, who is attached as director, we know that Tom Cruise has signed on as the male lead.

He may not be returning to Star Wars (yet), but it looks like the Force is bringing together Oscar Isaac and Rogue One director/Andor creator Tony Gilroy. The actor is reportedly set to star in Gilroy's next feature film, a drama about a cello player — though there is very little known about the movie beyond that. If true, it would mark the first time the duo have worked together. But given the talent involved, we could absolutely see it not being the last time these two talented storytellers unite in creative collaboration.

Per the folks over at ComingSoon.net, the film is only in the script stage, with details being kept under wraps. There are, reportedly, several interested studio players involved in negotiations to grab the distribution and/or production rights to the film, currently titled Behemoth. Beyond that, your best guess is as good as ours as far as what will happen.

The gears are in motion for a fifth John Wick movie, despite the character's seeming demise at the end of the fourth film. However, whether Keanu Reeves returns or not, there's one character you probably won't see in a future John Wick film. In an interview with Collider's Aidan Kelley for his new critically acclaimed movie Bob Trevino Likes It, legendary star John Leguizamo stated that his character, auto mechanic Aurelio, likely won't be back for another round.

Says Leguizamo, of the possibility of a return to the blockbuster action franchise:

Yeah…Well… I mean, I was cut out of 2, so I was not the happiest camper. I had a whole backstory and everything, but I don't want to get into all that.

On the suggestion that he could return Wick's car after being absent from the franchise since the second film, Leguizamo was very clear:

I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Lionsgate has finally launched the brand new trailer for their upcoming action-thriller Ballerina, offering a killer new look at Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die; Ghosted) heading into action as Eve Macarro, and it looks like her mission just got considerably more difficult than we imagined as she'll soon find herself up against Baba Yaga himself!

Yes, as the trailer reveals, The Director (Anjelica Huston) will send John Wick (Keanu Reeves) after Eve, in a last-ditch effort to stop her vendetta. John will offer her a choice, leave or die, and the battle commences. It certainly adds an interesting wrinkle to the film, as we were all previously under the assumption that Wick and Macarro would be allies and fight together, which could obviously still happen, but it looks like things will head into a different direction before the credits roll.

The trailer was launched during an interactive live stream event in which a stunt professional melted a large ice block with a flamethrower to unveil the trailer, as iconically used in the film.

Ana de Armas stars in the new film, which also features an appearance from Keanu Reeves as the beloved character John Wick.

After years of delays, fans will finally get to see Ana de Armas attempt to put her stamp on the “John Wick” universe this June when “Ballerina” hits theaters.

First announced in 2019, the new “John Wick” spin-off stars de Armas as a ballerina and assassin who seeks revenge on the people who killed her family. Set between the events of the third and fourth “John Wick” films, the new movie features franchise regulars including Ian McShane, Angelica Huston, and Keanu Reeves himself. It also features an appearance from the late Lance Reddick, who shot the film before his passing in 2023. Norman Reedus, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Gabriel Byrne also star in the film.

Back in 2017, Lionsgate bought an action thriller spec script called Ballerina, which was written by Shay Hatten and ranked on The Black List as one of the best unproduced screenplays of that year. The idea was to have Hatten rewrite the script to take place within the world of Lionsgate’s John Wick franchise – and Hatten was also hired to co-write John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which included a set-up for the Ballerina concept of ballerina assassins. Hatten did his rewrite, Len Wiseman was hired to direct the film, Ana de Armas was cast as the title character, and now, Ballerina is ready to make its way out into the world, with a theatrical release scheduled for June 6th. With a new trailer confirmed for 10 Am Est tomorrow, Lionsgate has shared a handful of brand new stills from Ballerina, their upcoming action-thriller starring Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die; Ghosted) in the lead role as Eve Macarro.

While plot details remain mostly under wraps, the film's official synopsis reads, "Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma."

John Wick: Chapter 4 has found a new streaming home, and the kick-ass movie, which potentially brought Reeves' tenure in the franchise to an end, is now streaming completely free.
