Tony Robinson’s much loved 1990s Cbbc sitcom Maid Marian And Her Merry Men is heading to the stage this year, here are the details.
Though Tony Robinson is best known as dim-witted servant Baldrick alongside Rowan Atkinson across several iterations of Blackadder, to a certain generation he is creator, writer as well as playing the role of the Sherrif of Nottingham in Maid Marian and Her Merry Men. A classic show, which ran for four series on the BBC from 1989 to 1994.
For kids TV trivia fans, it is thanks to Maid Marian that Russell T Davies got his start in writing television drama.
Funding and studio time was booked for Maid Marian in 1991, but it was put on hiatus. Davies submitted his script for children’s sci-fi serial Dark Season to both the Head of Cbbc and to Granada. Both were interested, but Cbbc’s offer was better, Maid...

The BBC first announced it was making six-part comedy thriller Black Ops back in June 2021 – and boy is it worth the wait.
Created by Famalam’s BAFTA-winning duo of Gbemisola Ikumelo and Akemnji Ndifornyen, it follows two inexperienced Community Support Officers – Ikumelo plays Dom alongside The Wheel of Time’s Hammed Animashaun as Kay – who get recruited into a perilous undercover Met Police operation infiltrating a London drug gang.
There are so many elements that combine to make Black Ops a joyous must-watch:
1. You’ll Instantly Love The Characters
The sibling-like partnership between Dom and Kay makes us feel immediately at ease in their world. So when the enigmatic Di Clinton Blair covertly approaches them to join his “off the books” undercover operation in episode one, we’re invested in their story from the off.
Dom is smart, quick-thinking but also ultimately immature and quite spoiled – she lives at home...

"Can you save my life?" 4Digital Media has debuted an official Us trailer for a "family adventure" movie titled 2 Hours, also known as 2:Hrs. The plot is a bit odd: three school friends ditch classes, and somehow stumble into the lab of a mad scientist lady. There they discover her latest invention, The Vitalitron, which predicts the time of death of any living creature. Tim discovers he only has two hours left to live, so he and his mates create a bucket list that will cram a lifetime into the next two hours. Anyone want to bet that he doesn't die at the end of two hours, but learns a few lessons along the way? What an original idea. Starring Harry Jarvis, Ella-Rae Smith, Alhaji Fofana, Keith Allen, Siobhan Redmond, Seann Walsh, Marek Larwood, and Kirsty Dillon. It looks pretty bad - almost made-for-tv bad, but that's why it's being...

The concept of knowing when you die is something the we, as humans, seem to focus on as wwe get older. It’s also been the subject of a number of films: from thrillers such as D.O.A., to comedies like The Bucket List… the idea of knowing when you die (and to a lesser extent “how” you die) is fascinating for filmmakers and audiences alike.
Brand-new British teen comedy 2:Hrs tells the story of budding graffiti artist and an expert slacker Tim (Harry Jarvis), who gets more than he bargained for when he convinces his two best friends, Vic and Alf, to skip a school trip. They stumble into a press conference being held by scientist Lena Eidelhorn (Siobhan Redmond) who is unveiling her latest invention,...

A rather tipsy Rob Beckett attempts to tell the story of Henry VIII in a new clip from Drunk History.
In the first episode of the Comedy Central UK series, the intoxicated comedian rambles through the tale of how the king met his fourth wife Anne of Cleves.
As Beckett narrates, comedians including Mathew Horne and Marek Larwood act out what the comic is saying.
The episode also features Kerry Howard talking about the reign of Queen Victoria while plied with alcohol.
Drunk History is based on the Us web series of the same name, produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The UK version is narrated by Jimmy Carr.
Drunk History airs tonight (January 12) on Comedy Central at 10pm.

Co-created by the people who brought us The Bill, here's a peculiar and rather worthy hybrid of fact and fiction – a fake fly-on-the-wall police procedural, starring a former real-life detective chief superintendent (Jane Antrobus). It's certainly plodding and humdrum enough to be authentic – though does chuck in the odd Columbo-style red herring to keep us interested. In this series opener, Di Jane and DS Ben Shaw (Hollyoaks' Ben Hull) investigate the case of an care home resident who's had his money stolen. Ali Catterall

The ‘We are Klang’ man begins his show by providing us with a montage of his more humiliating and demeaning moments in comedy. We see his panicked face mashed into the breast of one of his male cohorts; a preface to telling us that he wants to be taken seriously as a performer.
Thrust straight into the surrealism, he is joined on stage by ‘Pighead’, who fills the roles of both ‘The Price is Right’ style assistant and comedy ally in a pig costume. With Pighead’s help Larwood regales us with his affecting story of becoming ‘typecast’. He introduces a list which we are going to work through together as a room, consisting of a step-by-step path, explaining acting, comedy and the various pitfalls that accompany it. Over the course of the hour, Larwood will masterfully succumb to these pitfalls for our amusement. He will also wear tennis ball-filled underpants.
