It’s not always the case that winning top entertainment awards makes a film a great watch. Some can be tough to get through but they are still very deserving of the accolade. But two top awards for a movie available on Netflix is a huge signal to make sure you see it if you haven't already.
If you haven’t yet seen the latest Wallace and Gromit animation Vengeance Most Fowl, what have you been doing? Where have you been? It’s a comedy classic and deserves your attention.
If you weren't sure, then the Aardman animation was given two big thumbs up as recommendations on Sunday night. Noel Fielding will be returning to work following the abrupt cancelation of his Apple TV+ series The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin. The historical comedy was axed by Apple last week mid-way through filming season two.
It was reported that Fielding, who plays the title character in Dick Turpin, had dropped out of the series even though three-quarters of the work had already been completed. The Sun originally claimed that Fielding "failed to come to work" for undisclosed reasons, but there is no official explanation as of yet. Producer Big Talk Studios ultimately decided to completely shut down production on Dick Turpin season two because the project couldn’t be salvaged without Fielding.

Quick Links Philomena Cunk's Interviewing Style in 'Cunk on Life' Why 'Cunk on Life' Works as Both a Documentary and Mockumentary
Everyone loves a good documentary, right? Documentaries are so common that they even have an entire genre solely devoted to their parody. Mockumentaries have become almost as prevalent as docs themselves, with new and innovative send-ups released all the time. One of the latest entries on the list is Netflix's Cunk on Life. The special features Diane Morgan's Philomena Cunk character as she tries to solve the meaning of life. Simple, right?
Cunk is no stranger to the world of "documentary." She's previously tackled Shakespeare, world history, British history, the story of Christmas, and more. What makes Philomena Cunk work, besides the brilliant deadpan humor, is how she toes the line between that humor and actual facts. The various Cunk specials are not straight mockumentaries,...

Tony Hancock’s feature film outings The Rebel and The Punch And Judy Man are getting fresh DVD and Blu-ray releases. More here.
It’s one of the most well known lines in comedy. Tony Hancock goes to give blood and, on being told he’ll be giving a pint, says the immortal words, “I don’t mind giving a reasonable amount, but a pint? That’s very nearly an armful!”.
The writers or those words and many more were Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, who went on to create the hugely successful sitcom Steptoe And Son too.
Hancock made only two forays into film, and they are both being rereleased on DVD and Blu-ray in March.
The first film was The Rebel. Directed by Robert Day, scripted by Galton and Simpson and released in 1961, the synopsis reads as follows:
A self-taught artist with an enthusiasm that far exceeds any ability,...

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is back tonight, ending its holiday hiatus. Fans will be even happier to know the show has big things planned for the week.
Stephen Colbert signed off just before Christmas. He had spent the final few days of 2024 mocking "President" Elon Musk and still trying to wrap his head around some of President-elect Donald Trump's administration picks.
A refreshed and recharged Colbert opens up the Ed Sullivan Theater tonight for a brand-new episode. It comes on January 6, giving the late-night TV host a chance to acknowledge the anniversary of the 2021 insurrection.
To do that, Colbert welcomes former Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger to the show. Kinzinger was a member of the January 6 committee in the House. Expect the two to discuss what's happened (or hasn't) since that infamous day, the incoming Trump administration, and more.
Then, old Late Show friend Jon Batiste is back in the building.

The great Roger Ebert once called Wallace and Gromit “arguably the two most delightful characters in the history of animation,” and who are we to argue with that? Ever since 1989, a Wensleydale cheese-loving inventor and his beloved dog have starred in four short films and two features, every one of these adventures utterly joyous. Without Wallace and Gromit, the great Aardman Animation possibly would’ve never been discovered outside the UK, and arguably stop-motion as a medium might not have ever gotten critical recognition.
Everyone knows the magic trick by now: creator Nick Park builds his sets and character models out of Plasticine modeling clay, adjusting them in every frame to give the illusion of movement. The effect still looks amazing to this day, and the care put into the craft is a huge part of what makes the franchise feel like such a labor of love. But there’s...

After becoming an online sensation because of how dense she can be and her occasional zingers, hopelessly clueless TV journalist Philomena Cunk (portrayed Diane Morgan) made the big move to Netflix with her new comedy special, Cunk on Life. As its title bluntly puts it, the special follows Cunk as she tries to find the meaning of life in her uniquely foolish but endearing way.
At first glance, Cunk on Life is little more than an upgraded version of Cunk on Shakespeare or Cunk on Earth. Once again, Cunk goes around the world, meets and annoys experts, and slowly walks around historical sites and fancy buildings for glamor shots. But since it gives existentialism a special focus, Cunk on Life shows itself to be an unexpected but welcome refutation of the kind of self-importance that has taken over mainstream comedy.

Aardman Animations' Wallace and Gromit have stolen audiences' hearts since they debuted in the 1989 stop-motion animated short film, Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out. The Oscar-winning British dog and inventor duo have appeared in multiple short films, plus a feature film, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Now, they have a new feature film streaming on Netflix.
In Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Wallace introduces a new invention, the Nifty Odd-jobbing Robot, better known as Norbot. However, Wallace and Gromit's old enemy, the penguin Feathers McGraw, wants revenge. Feathers McGraw was introduced in the 1993 short film Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers, where he tried to steal the Blue Diamond. Seemingly intelligent but woefully oblivious documentarian Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) is back to confound some of academia’s best players in her new feature-length Netflix special Cunk on Life. The special takes a hilarious look at the inner workings of life and living things, absolutely measuring up to the sensational satire of its five-part predecessor. And don’t worry, Cunk on Earth fans: you will not miss out on random promotional spoofs, or the series’ traditional incorporation of “Pump Up The Jam” by Technotronic (feat. Felly).

They say you can’t go home again, but Hallmark’s hit series The Way Home proves that’s not entirely true. The drama, which kicks off its third season Friday at 9/8c (streaming the next day on Hallmark+), stars Andie MacDowell and Chyler Leigh as an estranged mother and daughter who must find their way back together after the latter moves home with her teenage daughter (Sadie Laflamme-Snow’s Alice) amidst a divorce. They’re aided in their growth and healing via a mysterious pond on the property that allows various members of the Landry family to travel through time, an experience that reveals the answers to as many questions as it creates.
Upon first glance, The Way Home appears to be a big swing for Hallmark, which is still best known for romantic fare and its annual Christmas-themed movie slate, but beneath the surface it’s a compelling family drama,...

Diane Morgan’s character, Philomena Cunk, is blatantly stupid but also strangely wise. She first appeared on TV in Charlie Brooker’s “Weekly Wipe.” Against the pretentiousness common in modern media, she stood out as someone who wasn’t intelligent. Cunk’s humor, which combines innocent questions with deadpan delivery, makes you think about the very nature of knowledge and experience.
Cunk has changed over time, going through shows that deal with weighty topics like Shakespeare and history. From a simple spoof to a philosophical comedy that makes us question the basis of our beliefs, what started as a joke has grown into a satirical lens through which we look at the absurdities of life.
Diane Morgan does a great job with her role. She exudes a rare combination of sincerity and absurdity while maintaining a detached demeanor that heightens the comedic effect. Lines like “Does God have a brother named Simon?...

Black Mirror's Netflix parody Streamberry has made a surprising return in a completely different show, Cunk on Life. The best docuseries that teaches you absolutely nothing is set to return to the BBC this December, but Netflix subscribers will have to wait until January for their next dose of Cunk. Philomena Cunk has put journalists around the world to shame over the last few years, asking hard hitting questions others are too scared to ask, like "how many Three Wise Men were there?" and "when you teach a kid Shakespeare, do their heads grow physically bigger?" Created by Black Mirror mastermind Charlie Brooker, Philomena Cunk is played by British comedian Diane Morgan. Following the global success of Cunk on Earth, pioneering documentary-maker Philomena Cunk (Diane Morgan) will return with her most ambitious quest to date; venturing right up the universe and everything, to examine life itself.
“What’s the point of it all?” is a question humans have been asking themselves since the dawn of time. But as we cling to our dying planet, working round the clock while we’re slowly being replaced by machines, now more than ever, people are desperately looking to make sense of their lives – before someone invents a computer that makes sense of it for them.
This one off special will see Philomena Cunk tackle some of the most complex concepts to have ever been discovered, including Quantum Physics, Existentialism, Nihilism, Hedonism – and at least four other isms – as well as exploring subjects from the big bang to biology, morals to meditation and art to artificial intelligence.

"He's a household gnome! What could possibly go wrong?" Netflix has revealed the full official trailer trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, a new Wallace & Gromit animated movie ready to watch soon. It premiered at AFI Fest in LA last month. The "world's best boss" – Feathers McGraw – is back with a vengeance. A brand new epic Wallace & Gromit family adventure from Aaardman, the first full length W&g feature film in 19 years since BAFTA & Academy Award-winning The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. The film focuses on Gromit's concern that Wallace has become over-dependent on his inventions, which proves justified when Wallace invents a "smart gnome" that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle the sinister forces and save his master. With the voices of Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay,...

Hold onto your crackers, folks — Feathers McGraw is back back back! Now yes, we have known of the felonious fake fowl's return for some time now; his dastardly mugshot adorned the first teaser trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, the feature-length comeback of everyone's favourite dog-and-his-man duo. But now, with the release of the latest trailer for Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham's new Aardman Animation, we've got our first proper look at the beady-eyed villainy that awaits. Check it out below... if you dare:
Feathers McGraw is out of the clink — and out for revenge — in this new, lengthier look at what Park and Crossingham have been calling the world's first 'Gnome Noir'. And it looks like Wallace's (Ben Whitehead) latest invention, smart gnome Norbot (Reece Shearsmith), is the eminently hackable and blissfully unaware lynchpin of McGraw's newest bird-brained scheme. With his slightly-too-cute grin and gently menacing voice,...

Plenty of comedians develop characters they perform, without breaking, on stage and screen. What separates comics like Diane Morgan (aka Philomena Cunk), Martin Short (aka Jiminy Glick), Tyler Perry (Madea) or the late Bob Einstein (Super Dave Osbourne) from Adam Ray is that the character that got him a Netflix special isn’t exactly a character: it’s the former daytime talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw.
Ray talked with me last week, before his sold-out show at New York’s Beacon Theatre as part of the New York Comedy Festival. Read on to find out how he developed the character; translating it from a Comedy Store show to a Netflix special; and what it’s like playing Dr. Phil with Dr. Phil.

After many years, a staple of the animation world is being revived thanks to the release of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Aardman Animation's latest stop-motion effort centered around the beloved duo. This is the first Wallace & Gromit movie to release since 2008's A Matter of Loaf and Death, and also the first to feature new Wallace actor Ben Whitehead, with him taking over from the late Peter Sallis. Understandably, expectations are high, and directors Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham are aiming high with a story that is both timely and looking back at the series' past.

Fans have waited patiently for the latest Wallace and Gromit adventure, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, and it looks like our patience has very much paid off. Netflixs new Wallace and Gromit outing continues a coveted trend held by few franchises, with Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl joining previous outings Wallace & Gromit in The Wrong Trousers, Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out, and Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave in achieving a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. While the 2005 movie Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit didn't quite reach perfection, it still managed to achieve a hugely impressive 95%.
David Opie of Radio Times awards Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl a perfect score of 5/5 and calls the movie as sharp as cheddar.
With a script as sharp as cheddar and a voice cast to match, the movie's lean 79-minute runtime flies by faster than you'd like, but only because it's so good.

Nick Park and the stop-motion, claymation masters at Aardman Animations are back with a new Wallace & Gromit feature that rivals their best Oscar-winning films. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will have audiences laughing hysterically at the return of a diabolical villain and his dastardly plan for fiendish retribution. Hide your valuables, folks. Feathers McGraw, the infamous criminal mastermind penguin, first seen in The Wrong Trousers, has again donned his rubber glove hat in a comical tale of technology gone awry. Our lovable protagonists learn the hard way that machine dependence isn't all it's cracked up to be.

The first reviews are in for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, the long-awaited sequel fans didn't know they needed, and it could be the best reviewed movie in the entire stop-motion franchise. Vengeance Most Fowl sees Wallace and his trusty canine side-kick, Gromit, return for a fifth feature film outing, and their first movie since The Curse of the Were-Rabbit way back in 2005. After a nearly 20-year hiatus, fans were worried the new sequel would meet the same fate as 2023's Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, which received mixed reviews from fans and critics. But, Aardman appears to be back in top form with the return of the cheese-loving duo.
At the time of writing, only 7 reviews have been submitted to Rotten Tomatoes, but these early opinions promise a great fifth outing for Wallace & Gromit. Of the seven reviews, all of them gave near-perfect scores. Could Vengeance Most Fowl...

It’s been 31 years since Feathers McGraw, the silent, Arsène Lupin-esque penguin from Nick Park’s “The Wrong Trousers,” was caught trying to steal a certain diamond from a city museum. Confined to 10 years of imprisonment inside the city zoo, he’s now back in Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham’s Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and out for revenge.
Evincing the charm and splendiferously droll humor that’s endeared Wallace and Gromit to audiences since 1989’s “A Grand Day Out,” the film is reliably uncomplicated in its plotting. In the nearly two decades since our titular duo’s last feature outing, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, societal reliance on smart technology has only ballooned. And, it seems, so has that of the mild-mannered Wallace (Ben Whitehead). Indeed, the eccentric, cheese-obsessed inventor has grown so addicted to building contraptions that he’s become blind to Gromit’s needs and desires,...

It has been 19 long years between the first Wallace & Gromit feature in 2005 and now the second in 2024, but it is an understatement to say it was well worth the wait. Nick Park’s and Aardman’s delightful buddy movie, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is an animated film noir merged with the dangers of technology running rampant. Park created this franchise with his 1990 short, A Grand Day Out, and has been going strong with shorts and half-hour specials ever since for W & G. The first feature, Wallace & Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit was one of the earliest Oscar winners when the feature animation category was established, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see history repeat itself again this year. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is a complete delight that delivers exactly what we had hoped it would – and then some.

The Wallace And Gromit movies are thoroughly charming affairs. Following the wacky adventures of the eccentric inventor Wallace and his lovable pooch Gromit, the series has become one of the most beloved British properties. Its continued success is impressive considering how A Grand Day Out originally began life as a university project, before the Bristol stop-motion studio Aardman Animations noticed the short's potential, and hired its producer Nick Park to finish the piece. Wallace & Gromit has become a critically acclaimed animated franchise, having won three Oscars to date.
Wallace & Gromit is set to return for their latest escapade, Vengeance Most Fowl. Debuting on Christmas Day on BBC1 in the UK and January 3rd internationally on Netflix, it promises to be a must-watch film over the festive period. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be an "emotional" journey for longtime fans, according to Nick Park, who is returning to direct the movie.

Iconic Aardman characters Wallace and Gromit are back for feature length special Vengeance Most Fowl, here’s the trailer.
It’s a commonly held view among both animation aficionados and film fans in general that The Wrong Trousers is one of the best animated films ever made. 30 perfect minutes crammed with character, jokes and the most well directed train chase sequence every committed to film, it won a BAFTA and an Academy Award.
It’s perhaps no surprise then that for their big return to the small screen, Wallace and Gromit will face off against their iconic foe, Feathers McGraw once more in Vengeance Most Fowl.
The new film will be bigger in scope than its previous four short films – A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death – and will in fact be a feature film closer in length to their...

Wallace and Gromit are finally back.
The stop-motion franchise returns early next year on Netflix with its first feature in 19 years, “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.” And this time, the titular inventor and his dog are taking on AI.

The “vengeful figure…masterminding things” is none other than villainous penguin Feathers McGraw, who appears for the first time in a feature film after debuting in the franchise’s Oscar-winning short “The Wrong Trousers.”

Earlier this year, it was finally confirmed that a new Wallace & Gromit movie from Aardman Animations is set to arrive on the BBC (in the UK) and Netflix (worldwide) in time for the holidays. Today, it's been confirmed that it will arrive at the start of 2025 on January 3.
Regardless, with a 70-minute runtime, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will be the first feature-length adventure for these two icons since 2005's The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2008's A Matter of Loaf and Death clocked in at less than 30 minutes).
As we first reported on Toonado.com, a new trailer for the movie has been released highlighting the long-awaited return of iconic villain Feathers McGraw. The twisted penguin debuted in 1993's Oscar-winning The Wrong Trousers and, if what we see here is any indication, he's out for revenge!
