The revival will feature some familiar villains along with new characters for the new group of budding superheroes to face. Tim Kring, the creator of the original series, is writing Heroes: Eclipsed.

Milo Ventimiglia, who played Peter Petrelli in the NBC superhero series Heroes, which ran from 2006 to 2010, has little hope for a second series revival.
"I feel like I've been trained to say, ''never say never,'' but I think when they tried to bring back Heroes and reboot Heroes, it was a bit of a soft landing," Ventimiglia told ComicBook while promoting his new film Land of Bad. "I don't think that one's gonna be revisited again. I think it's just one of those things [that] I think they tried, and it didn't quite go," he said about the 13-episode revival, which didn't include much of the original cast.

It seems 2015/2016 shall be marked as the TV season that saw the resurgence of old shows reborn in mini-series form (or “event series” as the Us networks so desperately want us to call them). Its also the year that these returning shows, The X-Files and Heroes Reborn, did nothing but disappoint the fans who loved the shows and hoped – beyond all hope it turns out – that these new iterations would recapture what made the original series so good.

Knowing that Heroes Reborn is unlikely to return, fingers crossed that next week's finale resolves its many dangling threads...

The news spilling out of NBC this week that Heroes Reborn is highly unlikely to return for a second season won’t come as a big shock to many. Amusing as it is to imagine Heroes head-honcho Tim Kring going full-on Partridge and telling the boss of NBC to “give me a second series, you shit”, the truth is that even before the show aired last September, the general feeling was that this would be a one-time deal. Quite frankly, it was a miracle that the project even got commissioned in the first place given the state Heroes was in when it ended its initial four season run. Viewers might not be clamouring for a second season then but what they undoubtedly...

There aren’t a lot of shows with the ratings history of Heroes that would spawn a revival/respawn/sequel. While the show launched to huge ratings, and had an impressive first season, it continually declined for the rest of its run, ultimately falling far enough that by the fourth season it wasn’t any surprise that the show was going.
Apart from the pure ratings approach to popularity, there was something of a backlash before long, and though a solid base of fans complained when the show left, it wasn’t in the pop culture spotlight.
Now, after some 8 years have gone, the show returns with Heroes Reborn.
It isn’t quite the next greatest thing, mostly because it has too much to do, and there’s no way to fit it all in, but it isn’t going to disappoint fans, and it balances the mystery with the...

Heroes Reborn is the next chapter in the story of people with extraordinary powers, featured in the NBC series Heroes (2006-2010). The show is getting new life with a 13-episode series this fall on the network. The show takes place five years after the end of Season 4, after Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere) announced the existence of humans with superpowers to the world. The heroes are now called “Evos” or evolved humans. Some as-yet-unnamed tragedy has occurred and the Evos are now forced to register with the government and some of them are disappearing. Hrg, or Horn Rimmed Glasses (Jack Coleman) is trying to live a normal life in the suburbs, but a conspiracy theorist named Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski) pulls him back into the fray. He seems to be missing memories as well. [caption id="attachment_456565" align="alignright" width="300"] Image via NBC/caption] We’ll be introduced to a whole new crop of heroes through the series,...

First came a teaser poster, and now NBC is continuing to ramp up the marketing campaign for Heroes Reborn as evidenced by this haunting new trailer. While the initial teaser for the upcoming event series featured nothing more than an enigmatic look at an eclipse and quick glimpses of stars Jack Coleman and Zachary Levi, this new video kicks things up a notch and features the world asking, “Where are all the heroes?”
While the trailer elicits Bonnie Tyler’s “I Need A Hero,” it’s actually a pretty dark and intriguing look at the Heroes universe, which has undoubtedly changed quite a bit since the original series came to a close five years ago. The show concluded with Hayden Panettiere’s character outing herself as a superpowered individual and effectively blowing the lid off of all the other supers in hiding. Uh oh. Looks like Heroes Reborn may be taking itself a little too seriously. NBC has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming limited revival series, and it's laying hard on the idea that our society needs heroes. Which isn't wrong, but I'm pretty sure the heroes we need are better at diplomatic peacekeeping than moving objects with their mind. If you've been paying attention to our recent Heroes Reborn coverage, you might have noticed that I'm rooting for this show and genuinely hope it will be good, but the promotional material we've seen so far is not stoking my enthusiasm. That said, we still haven't seen any footage from the show itself, and I really like the look of the first stills so I'm reserving judgement for the time being. However, if this teaser is meant to set the tone for the series, ripping a page out of...
