I will begin this review with the admittance that I have not read the famous novel of which this film is based, written by novelist and YouTuber John Green, but I am familiar with the story and the amount of people that it moved, helped and charmed upon its release in 2012, and since.
The Fault in Our Stars is another beloved modern novel adapted to the screen due to its overwhelming popularity. Directed by Josh Boone, who had previously only been the director on one film, 2012’s Stuck in Love. Chicago – Sure, I’ll admit it. With so many new films to screen and review, I’ll choose the sci-fi action/thriller from the man behind the Bourne flicks over a movie that’s being called “the greatest romance story of this decade”.
But when realizing I only have time this week to write “The Fault in Our Stars” or “Edge of Tomorrow,” the choice – albeit unusual for me because of my love for sci-fi – comes quickly without thinking twice. While comparing them is like apples and orange, the first won’t stand the test of time while the latter with stay with you for years to come.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
My interest in “The Fault in Our Stars” wasn’t typical. It was piqued while interviewing co-stars Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort at the Chicago red-carpet premiere not for this romantic drama with a $12 million budget but for the blockbuster “Divergent” with an $85 million budget.

While the concept of Jinn may be foreign to U.S. viewers, this supernatural thriller will give horror fans something they have never seen before. The first trailer has been released, giving viewers the unique combination of humans, angels, and a new Pontiac Firebird. The premise of the Jinn concept, known to over 1 billion people around the world, involves supernatural entities and revolves around creation mythology: In the beginning, three were created; man made of clay; angels made of light; and a third...made of fire. They are powerful due to their existence in a parallel world, and also because they have free will and can be both good and evil. Take a look at the first footage, featuring stars Ray Park, Serinda Swan and Faran Tahir.
Jinn comes to theaters April 4th, 2014 and stars Ray Park, Serinda Swan, Faran Tahir, William Atherton, Milica Govich, Walter Phelan, Dominic Rains, Ele Bardha.
