If you’re headed to D23, Disney’s ultimate fan event in Anaheim, California, this weekend, you might want to save some extra room in your luggage. Cyclops Print Works, which is known for partnering with some of the industry’s very best artists for some of the most beautiful prints based on beloved Disney classics, has an absolute murderer’s row of artists this year, including Shag, Craig Drake and Tom Whalen. And we’ve got them all to show you.
Below you’ll see the prints and the details for the prints, which includes Craig Drake’s stunning, singular take on “The Little Mermaid;” former full-time Disney artist Eric Tan playfully paying homage to “The Nightmare Before Christmas;” Tom Whalen doing a gorgeous horizontal “Ratatouille” print; Jc Richard’s latest amazing castle print, this time themed to “Frozen;” and, perhaps most excitingly, Shag (aka Josh Agle), an artist...

There are few Disney animated classics as beloved and revered as “Beauty and the Beast.” So you can understand why artist Tom Whalen, whose distinctive style has been brought to everything from “Avengers”-themed cans of Coke to the actual poster for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland, was so excited to do a screen-print for the movie, which TheWrap can exclusively reveal.
The artist — who has also imagined Disney classics like “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Little Mermaid” in print form — told TheWrap the 1991 movie was “definitely in the top 3” of his favorite Disney animated movies and he was thrilled to be able to craft his own take on the film. “That ‘90s revival was so fun, I was so into it at the time,” Whalen said.

Above: poster for Playtime by Vincent Mahé.The art print movie poster phenomenon that exploded in the last decade —in which posters were produced as collectibles for fans rather than commercial ephemera created by a distributor to promote a film’s release—has been notable for two things: first an extraordinary, beyond-belief artistry and, second, a rather restricted frame of reference. Filmmakers like Kubrick, Scorsese, Malick, and Tarantino are very well represented while a whole host of world-class auteurs rarely seem to merit a single limited edition Mondo print run. Where are the art prints for Ozu or Antonioni, one wonders? One wonderful exception in recent years was a series of prints devoted to Jacques Tati released from 2015 to 2019 by the Nautlilus Art Prints studio in Brussels, Belgium. The posters, covering all five of Tati’s major features, were illustrated by two Belgian artists, David Merveille and Laurent Durieux, one French artist,...

San Diego Comic-Con may be cancelled in its most ideal sense this year, but for the nerdy faithful who still want to bask in the community created by panels, cosplay, and swag, the dream lives on. And it’s just gone virtual with Sdcc’s Comic-Con@Home event later this week. In keeping with that ethos, Mondo, the indie tastemaking artwork company, has partnered with Sdcc for the exclusive products below.
Beginning tomorrow and Thursday, fans for characters as varied as Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, Charles Schulz’s Peanuts Gang, and the poor, doomed folks trapped in “the Loop” on Amazon’s Tales from the Loop, will get the chance to pick up the following:

The above soundtrack immortalizes in vinyl, and with Simon Stålenhag artwork, the hypnotic Tales from the Loop score by Philip Glass and Paul Leonard-Morgan. The soundtrack is made in...

Posterized June 2019: ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco,’ ‘Our Time,’ ‘The Chambermaid,’ and More
“Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover” is a proverb whose simple existence proves the fact impressionable souls will do so without fail. This monthly column focuses on the film industry’s willingness to capitalize on this truth, releasing one-sheets to serve as not representations of what audiences are to expect, but as propaganda to fill seats. Oftentimes they fail miserably.
This June’s box office is pretty much all about four sequels: Toy Story 4, Dark Phoenix, The Secret Life of Pets 2, and Men in Black: International (June 14th). I’d do everything I could to avoid that quartet if I was a Hollywood competitor too. So besides a couple other studio selections sprinkled in as hopeful counter programming, the list of releases is lower than usual to compensate for how many screens will be locked up. (Next month is looking even sparer.)

It's crazy to think that after all these years, Mondo has never released a Ghostbusters print, but it's true! These guys have released print for every freakin' classic movie you can think of, but Ghostbusters is nowhere to be found in their archives. That all changes this month with the reveal of a Ghostbusters print created by artist Tom Whalen. Check out all the details below and tell us what you think!
The print will be available to purchase at San Diego Comic-Con this week and it will be available in two editions. First is a 36 x 24 inch, glow in the dark variant in an edition of 200 that’ll be exclusively available at Mondo’s booth (number 435) Saturday, July 21 at San Diego Comic-Con.
Second is a 36 x 24 inch regular version in an edition of 375, which will go up on Mondo’s website at the same random time the variant goes...

Who you gonna call? Mondo. Cause they are releasing an awesome new poster for the 1984 horror comedy classic Ghostbusters. If you love nostalgia, the comedy stylings of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, and the incredible posters released by Mondo, then you don't want to sleep on this.
Maybe hard to believe, but in all these years of delivering the best art work, covering the biggest genre movies, Mondo has never attempted to create a one-sheet celebrating Ghostbusters. But that all changes this July, when Mondo brings their new Ghostbusters poster to Comic-Con, where it will surely sell out in no time flat.
The poster comes from Tom Whalen, an artist who was truly inspired by what he saw in that old movie and managed to bring it screaming to life in delightful ways. The Stay Puft Marshmellow Man looms over a New York ruled by Gozer, Zuul and another terror dog.
