The Marlow Murder Club Series 2 Gets a Premiere Date: Returns March 19th!

The Marlow Murder Club is one of the exciting new PBS Masterpiece TV shows.

The adaptation of Robert Thorogood’s novel premieres its first season on October 27 in a four part series starring Samantha Bond as Judith Potts, Jo Martin as Suzie Harris, Cara Horgan as Becks Starling and Natalie Dew as DS Tanika Malik.

In the series, Judith, Suzie and Becks start an investigation. To assist with official police investigation, headed by Tanika, They must suspect witnesses, and face down real danger as they work against the clock to stop the killer in their tracks.

With Season 1 coming to an end on Sunday (November 17), fans are curious whether the show will be getting a second season.

Set amongst the rolling hills and riverbanks of Buckinghamshire is the idyllic town of Marlow, where quaint cottages nestle alongside sprawling mansions. It’s the kind of place where neighbors chat over garden fences and life moves at an unhurried pace. However, darkness is about to fall on this picturesque community.

The Marlow Murder Club introduces us to retired archaeologist Judith Potts, living out her golden years immersed in crossword puzzles from her home overlooking the Thames. Nearby resides her neighbor Stefan, though an ominous shadow soon crosses his garden during an otherwise peaceful afternoon. A gunshot cracks the silence, and though Judith is the sole witness, no body or weapon can be found.

Unconvinced by the police investigation led by determined DS Tanika Malik, Judith recruits the help of local dog walker Suzie Harris and vicar’s wife Becks Starling. Thus forms the titular murder club, as these unlikely...

British television tries its hand at the citizen detective craze in the upcoming series, The Marlow Murder Club. Adapted from the best-selling novel by Robert Thorogood, Masterpiece Theater has just released the trailer for the upcoming series. From the producers of the supernatural comedy, Ghosts, The Marlow Murder Club brings, well, murder to the sleepy titular town. Samantha Bond is a veteran of Masterpiece Theater following her role in Downton Abbey and stars as a woman of leisure who gets pulled into a murder plot. Samantha Bond, Jo Martin and Cara Horgan are all set to return as amateur sleuthing trio Judith, Suzie and Becks while Natalie Dew will reprise her role as police inspector Tanika Malik.

In the first season, which launched earlier this spring drawing record ratings for UKTV network Drama, retired archaeologist Judith, dog-walker Suzie and vicar’s wife Becks teamed up to solve a triple murder that rocked their idyllic town of Marlow.

Season 2 will see the group reunite to solve another spate of unsettling crimes. The show is set to shoot this summer, directed by Steve Barron.

Bleecker Street Films has unveiled the first official trailer for a romantic drama titled Disobedience, the latest film from Chilean director Sebastián Lelio, who also made the Oscar-nominated film A Fantastic Woman last year. This first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and will hit limited theaters this April. Disobedience stars Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams as forbidden Jewish lovers.
