This new sitcom has received lots of terrible reviews. Will Dads also get poor ratings as well? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? We'll have to wait and find out.
Dads revolves around two successful video game developers (Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi) whose lives are turned upside down when their fathers (Martin Mull and Peter Riegeret) move in. The rest of the cast includes Brenda Song, Tonita Castro, and Vanessa Lachey.

To no surprise, Fox has cancelled Dads, their low-rated freshman sitcom. The comedy ran for 18 episodes, from September 2013 until February 2014.
Despite largely negative reviews, Dads started out strong in the ratings with a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.76 million total viewers. Those positive numbers didn't last however and the ratings dropped more than 30% in week two -- and they kept falling.
There won't be a second season but at least all of the episodes were broadcast. The same can't be said for Enlisted, another Fox comedy that has also been cancelled.

After quite a bumpy start, "Dads" Season 1 bowed out on Tuesday (Feb. 11) with a double-header that ended with a surprising amount of heart for a show that was once criticized for its racist and sexist jokes.
The first episode was pure sitcom material. After Crawford (Martin Mull) drunkenly peed the couch in the middle of the night, Camilla (Vanessa Lachey) makes him give up drinking, and promises that she and Warner (Giovanni Ribisi) will join him in solidarity. All three of them struggle like they're alcoholics (meaning they probably are). Warner and Crawford take up a new hobby of playing guitar and writing songs together, like "Raised By a Drunken Dad," to distract themselves, but when they play a song called "Bottoms Up" at an AA meeting, they incite a riot. Oops?
Meanwhile, Edna (Tonita Castro) claims David (Peter Riegert) is stealing her change from her change jar. Which he was,...

Though Dads is tied with The Mindy Project as the network's lowest-rated scripted series, Fox isn't giving up on it just yet. The network has ordered six additional scripts -- which may or may not end up becoming produced episodes.
Four episodes of Dads have aired so far. The premiere drew a 2.2 demo rating with 5.76 million total viewers. The sitcom fell more than 30% in week two and dropped another 13% in week three but seems to now be leveling off.
Dads revolves around a pair of software developers (Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi) whose troublesome fathers (Martin Mull and Peter Riegert) come to live with them and wreak havoc on their lives. Vanessa Lachey, Tonita Castro, and Brenda Song round out the cast.

Seth MacFarlane has had great success executive producing animated sitcoms on Fox but his last live-action series, The Winner, was cancelled after six episodes in 2007. How will Dads perform? Renewed for a second season or quickly canned? Is it worth watching?
Dads follows the lives of two successful video game developers (Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi) whose lives are dramatically changed when their fathers (Martin Mull and Peter Riegeret) move in with them. Brenda Song, Tonita Castro, and Vanessa Lachey round out the cast.
Sound like fun? Well, here's what some of the critics are saying:
THR: "As for Dads, well, there’s not much to say about this retro stink bomb that, with its overly-eager laugh track and broad-but-not-funny humor, might have been better on CBS. (Because if it was, it would make all those race-and-vagina jokes on 2 Broke Girls...

Dads isn’t going to back off just because critics started throwing out words like, “racist,” and, “offensive.” In fact, as you might expect from something with the name Seth MacFarlane attached to it, a recent promo celebrates the fact that there is controversy surrounding the show, and, apparently, hopes to show that “real people” don’t find it offensive.
The simple fact is that there is (at least) one scene in the show’s pilot which, at the very least, ought to cause you to raise your eyebrows. I’m not the ultimate judge on what’s offensive, and neither are you, but I squirmed in my seat a little, and thought, “Uhhh… what now?”
The question is, is that really “wrong”?
Well, we’ll get to that.

Chicago – Fox started the season last night with the season premiere of “Bones” and series premiere of “Sleepy Hollow,” and they continue their effort to fill your DVR with the return of “New Girl” & “The Mindy Project” tonight, preceded by the series premieres of “Dads” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
It’s a mixed bag of comedy talents tonight on Fox as “New Girl” has become a pretty consistent show and “The Mindy Project” has quietly developed one of the best ensembles on TV (aided notably by James Franco and Chloe Sevigny in the first two episodes) but the two new offerings premiere with mixed results.
Well, one has potential and the other decidedly does not. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” with Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher starts with a bit of rocky comedy writing but has a talented enough cast and interesting enough premise to turn it around quickly. I expect it to be...

Seth MacFarlane makes cartoons about dumb guys. That’s his job, and he’s done it so well with clueless buffoons like Peter Griffin that Family Guy has become one of the top-rated shows on Fox. So why is his latest pilot, Dads, which he created alongside fellow Family Guy producers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, inspiring so much outrage over its “racist” humor that one watchdog group is calling for Fox to reshoot the pilot?
So far, Fox is standing behind Dads, despite the controversy. The pilot has already been sent out to critics, including EW, and although some...

Fox has one of its better slates coming your way with the new season, especially if you take the midseason shows into account. Some of these shows may not jump out at you now as must-see, but some of them are going to take over, if I’m any judge anyway.
Clear showcase offerings Dads, Almost Human, and Us & Them are guaranteed to take off early. Almost Human has J.J. Abrams recognition to pull people in, though it looks to be a show that could flounder after a few episodes, even if I hope it doesn’t. The other two are going to become hits. Unfortunately, we have to wait until mid-season for the Gavin & Stacey remake.
Rake also looks like a winner, as long as the translation can be made to work as an Americanized product, and the show actually delivers what made the Australian original so brilliant.

"Family Guy" guys Seth Green and Seth MacFarlane are going live action for the Fox comedy series "Dads."
MacFarlane will executive produce and Green will star in the multi-camera comedy that has already earned a six-episode order from the network.
Green plays one of two successful thirtysomethings (along with Tommy Dewey of "The Mindy Project"), who are forced to deal with their dads (Peter Riegert, Martin Mull) moving in with them. Brenda Song and Tonita Castro co-star.
Although Green has voiced the role of Chris Griffin on Fox's "Family Guy" since the series began in 1999 and also executive produces and provides voices for Adult Swim's ongoing series "Robot Chicken," this will be his first live action series regular role since 2006's short-lived "Four Kings." He was also a full-time cast member of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" during Season 3.

Seth Green, who has voiced Chris Griffin in all but one episode of Seth MacFarlane’s animated series Family Guy, is teaming with MacFarlane again. He’s now been set as the other lead in Dads, Fox‘s multi-camera comedy pilot that already received a six-episode order. The project is from Ted‘s Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild and MacFarlane and centers on two successful guys in their 30s, Eli (Green) and Warner (Tommy Dewey), who have their lives turned upside down when their nightmare dads (Peter Riegert, Martin Mull) unexpectedly move in with them. Green’s Eli is a man who hasn’t grown up but who built a successful video game business with Warner. Brenda Song and Tonita Castro also co-star in the pilot. Green, also part of the braintrust behind Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken, is repped by UTA and Koopman Management.

Another asteroid barrels toward Earth in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, bringing two unlikely people into each other’s orbit: a lovable little man, Dodge (Steve Carell), whose wife, on learning that the apocalypse is imminent, leaves him with no preamble — not a word — for her lover; and a flaky young chick, Penny (Keira Knightley), with a string of failed relationships and in desperate need of a transcendental hug.The writer-director, Lorene Scafaria, maintains a shaky balance between satire and poignancy — no mean feat. There is an “End of the World Awareness Concert” and a “Best of Humanity” magazine issue on the stands. A few people continue to show up for work at Dodge’s insurance company (they have an “Armageddon Package”), and Dodge’s Spanish-speaking cleaning woman, Elsa (Tonita Castro), has an apparent inability to process the idea that she should spend her last days...

Billed as a "pre-apocalyptic comedy," Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightly is about to go into production. Though the two leads were announced last month [1], the rest of the cast for the film - written and directed by Lorene Scafaria (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) - has now been revealed. It includes Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Adam Brody (The Oc), Rob Corddry (Children's Hospital), Rob Huebel (Human Giant), Gillian Jacobs (Community), Derek Luke (Antoine Fisher), Melanie Lynskey (Away We Go), T.J. Focus Features has just announced that production will begin this week on Seeking A Friend For The End Of The Wolrd, the film was written and will be helmed by Lorene Scafaria in her directorial debut, and starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. The "pre-apocalyptic" film has also added a number of members to its cast, heightening my anticipation of the project to some new and unexpected levels.
In alphabetical order, Focus has rounded out the cast with Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Roger Aaron Brown, Tonita Castro, Rob Corddry, Melinda Dillon, Rob Huebel, Gillian Jacobs, Derek Luke, Melanie Lynskey, T.J. Miller, Mark Moses, Patton Oswalt, William Petersen, Lindsay Sloane, and Bob Stephenson. You'll notice a number of comedic talent (most notably Oswalt, Corddry, Huebel, and Miller) joining the ranks here, pretty much guaranteeing that End Of The World will be one of those light-hearted end of the world romps not so often seen.
