Andy Whyment has become the latest star to leave 'Dancing On Ice'. The 'Coronation Street' actor found himself in the bottom two alongside skier Chemmy Alcott and admitted before he and partner Vicky Ogden took to the ice for the skate-off that he was ''pretty sure'' he would be going home. And his prediction was proved right as all three judges opted to save Chemmy and partner Sean Rice. Katarina Witt said: ''You should be very proud about your performance Andy, but Chemmy I would like to see your lift again.'' Head judge Robin Cousins agreed, saying: ''Andy you've been great to watch in...

Katarina Witt has apologised for calling Chemmy Alcott a "big woman". The 'Dancing On Ice' judge - whose comment was met by boos from the audience of the ITV1 show - claims she meant it in a "complimentary way" because she was talking about the skier's height rather than her size. Following her movie-themed routine with professional skater Sean Rice, Katarina told Chemmy: "Chemmy, I am begging you to not do those lifts. I really don't want to see you up there - you are a pretty big woman." However, the German skating legend - who is joined on the 'Dancing On Ice'...

Dancing on Ice judge Katarina Witt has apologised for describing Chemmy Alcott as "a big woman" on this week's show. The German panellist denied suggestions that she was commenting on Alcott's weight when she expressed concern about the skier entering into lifts with professional partner Sean Rice. "I feel sorry about a comment I made about Chemmy and I think I upset her a bit," The Sun quotes Witt as saying. "I said she's a big girl and she misunderstood. "I meant it in a complimentary way, that she is a tall girl. As a skater I was a big girl, I was tall, I was big. I must say I am sorry. I think it was really a language thing so sorry, (more)...

Dancing on Ice's Chemmy Alcott has revealed that producers had originally planned for her to be bigger than her pro partner. Speaking to Digital Spy, the ski racer said that she would have made Dancing on Ice history by lifting her male partner. However, the plan was abandoned after signing Canadian Sean Rice, who Alcott describes as a "giant hulk of a man" in the video below:

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has admitted that he is glad Angela Rippon was eliminated from the show on Sunday.
ITV’s other ‘Mr Nasty’ didn’t enjoy Rippon’s debut routine and blasted her and partner Sean Rice for playing it too ‘safe’ on the ice. He also informed her that she didn’t emotionally connect to the moves at all.
Speaking to The Sun Jason added that the former newsreader left him ‘cold’, saying:
It’s good she’s gone. She’s so prim and proper and perfect in every way it leaves you cold and she won’t listen to criticism. Angela only hears what she wants to hear. Good riddance to old rubbish.

Angela Rippon has hit back at Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner, saying she would like to see him prove his worth on the rink.
The former newsreader was eliminated from the ITV show on Sunday night, after sharp tongued Gardiner blasted her routine calling it ‘safe’ and adding:
You are lacking any emotional connection with your choreography. You need to emotionally commit to what you are doing.
Retaliating against his criticisms, Angeal, 66, told The Sun:
“I challenge Jason to spend a few weeks with Sean to see if he can learn to do a three-turn, a choctaw, a camel turn, a mohawk.
“If he could do that routine then he could stand up and say, ‘It’s a safe routine’. Jason is a bit harsh. To say it was safe and dull was wrong.

Angela Rippon has challenged Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner to learn how to skate before being so quick to criticise contestants. Rippon, who was voted off the ITV reality show this weekend, said that she was disappointed by Gardiner's "harsh" criticism of her performance with professional partner Sean Rice, which Gardiner only awarded a three out of ten. "I challenge Jason to spend a few weeks with Sean to see if he can learn to do a three-turn, a choctaw, a camel turn, a mohawk," Rippon told The Sun. "If he could do that routine then he could stand up and say, 'It's a safe routine.' Jason is a bit harsh. To say it was safe and dull was wrong. The music was very slow - if we'd had something with a beat it would have been more lively." (more)...

Angela Rippon has admitted that was ‘disappointed’ with last night’s Dancing On Ice result.
The 66 year old was the eldest contestant on this year’s series of the ITV show and found herself eliminated on the first show, along with former Eastenders actrees Nadia Sawalha.
Angela had been partnered by Canadian professional skater Sean Rice – whose wife Joydene Higgins is paired with Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry – and speaking on This Morning she revealed that they had lots more tricks and moves she would have liked to display for the judges.
The former newsreader told Phillip and Holly:
I really am disappointed of course, but then anybody would be to be knocked out on the very first programme, when you’ve done all of that training for ten or twelve weeks.

Angela Rippon and Nadia Sawalha have become the first two celebrities to be voted off Dancing on Ice.
The pair ended up in the bottom three alongside Laura Hamilton and after the skate off, the public thankfully chose to save the most talented skater.
At 66 years old Angela was the eldest contestant taking part in the ITV series. She and her partner Sean Rice performed a slow (and slightly wobbly) routine earlier this evening to Etta James ‘At Last’. After her routine, for which she was scored 11 out of 30, Emma Bunton said:
I think I was actually going to give you a higher score but I saw a couple of trips and that put me off.
On hearing she was leaving this evening Angela admitted:
I am gutted!

Angela Rippon looked quite wobbly when she first took to the ice tonight and we were nervous for both her and her partner before she even started her routine.
During her rehearsals Torvill and Dean were disappointed by the former newsreader’s slow progress and improvement and Canadian skater Sean Rice forced her to take breaks because she was getting tired and endangering herself on the ice.
This evening Angela and Sean skated to ‘At Last’. It was a slow moving routine, which was most likely supposed to be romantic and touching but Angela was so wobbly and stiff all at the same time, it made uncomfortable viewing. She does have a great attitude though and she looked great in her floaty white gown, so we’re hoping she makes it through...
