However, the Naughty Dog co-president did later offer a slightly more positive update.

“I know there’s a bunch of people wondering about The Last of Us Part 3 and whether that will be a thing or not,” Druckmann told Buzzfeed last year. “All I could say is, at Naughty Dog we’re very, very privileged that our publisher is Sony — which means Sony funds our games, supports us, and we’re owned by Sony."

“Our process is the same thing we did when we did Part 2, which is if we can come up with a compelling story that has this universal message and statement about love — just like the first and second game did — then we will tell that story.

Marty Callner, the 12-time Emmy nominee who created HBO’s Hard Knocks and directed and/or produced music videos and TV specials featuring the likes of Cher, Garth Brooks, Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock, has died. He was 78.

Callner died Monday at his home in Malibu, his rep Gail Parenteau announced. His son Jazz said it was from natural causes.

"Cobra Kai" is the best-case scenario for what a legacy sequel should be. It is full of homages and references to the original "Karate Kid" movies, from replaying their most popular songs to reusing entire lines of dialogue and replicating moments and iconography. And yet, it never feels like the show is winking at the audience or being cheeky in its meta-ness. Instead, there's a sense of things being cyclical in "Cobra Kai," that students learn from their teachers and then pass on those lessons to students of their own.

It helps that "Cobra Kai" is constantly bringing back actors from previous "Karate Kid" films for cameo appearances — or to play central roles — and showing how much they have (or haven't) changed over the past four decades. “The Prince Estate and Netflix have come to a mutual agreement that will allow the estate to develop and produce a new documentary featuring exclusive content from Prince’s archive,” Netflix and the estate said in a statement on Thursday. “As a result, the Netflix documentary will not be released.”

Following the announcement, Prince’s estate shared a video on X with the caption, “The Vault Has Been Freed.

Director Andy Muschietti is opening up about the film failing at the box office and he’s acknowledging lead actor Ezra Miller‘s “PR crisis” during the promo campaign.

The film was released back in 2023 and earned $271 million at the worldwide box office, a much lower total than most DC Studios films.

Back in 2022, Ezra was arrested in Hawaii after an incident at a karaoke bar. They were also accused of harassing a woman in Germany, allegedly hosted three young children and their mom in Vermont in an “unsafe environment,” and were charged with felony burglary in the state. They were also accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a young person they met at age 12. The harassment order against Ezra was lifted in June 2023.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced on Monday the 207 feature films eligible for Best Picture consideration, two days before voting for the 2025 Oscar nominations begins.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre wasn’t the only Ed Gein-inspired horror film to be released in 1974.
