Chris Pratt Moneyball Audition(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Chris Pratt has always been full of surprises, but his Moneyball audition? That was on another level. Imagine walking into a room with Brad Pitt and the director, Bennett Miller. Most people would freeze. But not Pratt. He flipped the script—literally—and made a move no one saw coming.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show (via The Independent), Pratt shared the wild story. He was auditioning for the 2011 sports drama when Miller critiqued his performance, saying him to imagine he is “a guy auditioning next to Brad Pitt.” But instead of panicking, Pratt doubled down.
“I said: ‘Well, then how about this? This is my house, and you can start by taking your f***ing feet off my desk!’ I kicked him out, and I said: ‘You, Brad, get out! You guys go knock on the door and come back...

Netflix isn’t just revolutionizing how we watch movies; it’s completely rewriting the Hollywood paycheck game. Gone are the days when box office numbers determined an actor’s worth. Now, streaming giants are throwing money at A-listers like it’s Monopoly cash, and Netflix is leading the charge. Some of the biggest names in the industry have walked away with jaw-dropping paychecks for a single film, while others have locked in multi-movie deals that could fund a small country.

If you’ve spent any amount of time on the internet, you’ve probably encountered Leonardo DiCaprio raising a toast, throwing money, or delivering an impassioned speech that makes absolutely no sense but looks incredibly convincing. That’s right, we’re talking about The Wolf of Wall Street, a movie so wild, so absurd, and so meme-worthy that it has taken on a second life in digital culture.
Since its 2013 release, Martin Scorsese’s high-octane financial drama has become the cinematic gift that keeps on giving. From DiCaprio’s “I’m not leaving!” speech to Jonah Hill’s dramatic chest-thumping, the film has been chopped up, Gif’d, and repurposed for nearly every situation imaginable.

Corporations are not big fans of risk, and they're even less enamored of controversy. In sane times, they would prefer for their brands to be associated with fun, consumption, and more consumption. They want you to feel ecstatic about buying their product, and they don't want you running off to the competition to sample similar goods. Most importantly, though, they don't want to piss off their shareholders. So when their product is associated with something that bucks the system or is simply unsavory, they get their hackles up.
Once upon a time, movie studios didn't have to worry what corporations thought about their movies. Then corporations like Gulf + Western, Coca-Cola, and Sony, drawn by the glamor of the dream factory, bought into the movie business. They wanted their prestige of owning a Hollywood studio. Some of them were also keen on having their products showcased in motion pictures, a medium...

Netflix is one of the largest streaming services, and, aside from having other licensed titles on its platform, it has also created a name as a studio. Its titles often feature high-profile actors, and despite some of them not often enchanting both the critics and the audience, the streamer has had an amazing few months.
One of the titles that received major success recently is Cameron Diaz's Back in Action. The action comedy, which stars Diaz and Jamie Foxx as retired spies, also comes with a tongue-in-cheek reference to the actress' long break from acting. Per Tudum, the break didn't stop her from continuing to be one of the biggest action stars, as Back in Action joined Netflix's prestigious Most Popular Movies list.

Actor and filmmaker Jonah Hill will star and direct in the upcoming studio comedy Cut Off, expected to enter production later this year.
Jonah Hill has signed up to make Cut Off for Warner Bros, a studio comedy that is expected to begin production later this year after obtaining $10m worth of Californian tax credits. The project is in the fairly early stages of pre-production, having not yet assembled its cast. It marks the return of Hill to the director’s chair following Mid90s and Stultz.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is set to focus ‘on a pair of fraternal twins whose wealthy parents stop supporting them financially’ which sounds like a narrative conceit ripe for laughs. There’s no word as yet as to whether Hill will play both twins of if the film will be taking the Schwarzenegger/DeVito approach to casting.

Cameron Diaz's Comeback Movie Lands On Netflix's Elite Most-Viewed Charts 3 Months After Its Release

The new Cameron Diaz movie has become a global streaming sensation. The American actor became an A-list star off the back of prominent romantic comedies from the late 1990s, including My Best Friend's Wedding (in which she played Julia Roberts' romantic rival) and There's Something About Mary (in which she played the title role opposite Ben Stiller). She has also taken on major projects in other genres, including starring in 2000's Charlie's Angels and its 2003 sequel Full Throttle, as well as voicing Princess Fiona in DreamWorks' animated Shrek franchise.
However, for a full decade between 2014 and 2024, she starred in no movies at all. Cameron Diaz retired from acting, with her final project until 2025 being the 2014 remake of Annie starring Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx. She spent that decade focusing on her family, working to "reclaim" her life, and working in the wellness space, including launching an organic wine brand and publishing The Longevity Book.

2007's Superbad is one of the best comedies of the 2000s. Almost twenty years have passed since its release, and it remains a bold approach to the teen comedy genre that often broke the rules of what was allowed to be shown on screen or not. Superbad has enough in it to make it a risqué comedy, but distributing studio Sony Pictures didn't have an issue with the edgy plot. No, according to writer and star Seth Rogen, their most important note was that Jonah Hill's character could not use the PlayStation that's featured in the film.

Superbad writer and star Seth Rogen reveals that Sony intervened and banned one character from even laying a finger on a PlayStation controller during the events of the 2008 movie. The coming-of-age teen comedy focuses on three social misfits as they try to get with the girls of their dreams during a high-school party, sending them on an absurd odyssey. Alongside producing and writing the feature alongside Evan Goldberg, Superbad stars Rogen as Officer Michaels, who becomes the unlikely friend of Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Fogell when he poses as the now-infamous McLovin.

Seth Rogen recently spoke on his personal life-inspired comedy Superbad and if a movie like that could get made today. Co-writer and star Seth Rogen claims that distributor Sony thought Jonah Hill’s character was “too vile” to interact with a PlayStation console in 2007’s Superbad.
Joint screenwriters Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg put their own teenage experiences in what became their hit 2007 comedy, Superbad – though some of their antics appeared to have been a bit much for distributor, Sony.
While walking the red carpet for his latest comedy, the Apple TV+ series, The Studio, Rogen was asked by Rotten Tomatoes about the funniest note he’d ever received from a company executive. Seth Rogen recently shared an interesting story about the making of Superbad during a conversation at the SXSW premiere of his new Apple TV+ series The Studio. Rogen revealed that a particular studio note from Sony made him take things personally and even left him a bit insulted.
In the 2007 hit comedy Superbad, Jonah Hill plays a character named Seth, who is based on Rogen’s own teenage experiences. However, during the production process, Sony had an objection to how Hill’s character interacted with a PlayStation 2 in one of the scenes. According to Rogen, the studio felt that Hill’s character was so “reprehensible” that they didn’t want him touching their PlayStation products.
Rogen shared the humorous side of the situation, saying that Sony told the filmmakers, “They were like, ‘We can’t have him interact with our products as a character, because it’s too vile a character.

“They were like, ‘We can’t have him interact with our products as a character, because it’s too vile a character.’ And I was like, ‘It’s based on me, that’s very insulting,'” the star said through laughs, speaking with RottenTomatoes on the red carpet for the SXSW premiere of his new Apple TV+ series “The Studio.”
“Sony made the movie and we were told that Jonah Hill’s character, Seth, was so reprehensible to the studio,” Rogen said. “There’s a scene where they’re playing video games and it was like, ‘Jonah can’t touch a PlayStation.'”
Rogen shared that the production “accommodated” the studio in the end. Hill isn’t seen interacting with Sony products in the film,...

WB streaming service Max currently has an exclusivity deal with A24 that guarantees all their movies will appear on that service first (and HBO). The next to roll out is Y2K, the period piece comedy-thriller from late last year. Y2K takes place in the time frame that its title implies, and is initially about two boys who crash a rager, unaware that everything else is about to crash. One came with the goal of finally asking out his crush, but they both have their eyes on the giant bottles of booze. They don’t get very far with either goal before the Y2K bug actually hits, and turns out to be as bad as everyone says it is, only worse. No one predicted that VCRs were going to come alive and Tamagotchis were going to turn murderous, but hindsight is 20/20….or 2000 in this case. With its action-oriented,...

When thinking about 2013's This is the End, there are a few things that come to mind. It is remembered as one of the last big collaborations between Seth Rogen and James Franco before all the controversy surrounding the latter, and as one of the last examples of comedies being more consistent winners at the box office. The film is also remembered for a slew of high-profile celebrity cameos from Rihanna to Harry Potter'sEmma Watson. The cameos are all memorable in their own right, but Watson's is a particular standout, not only because of what's in the final film, but also because of the stories surrounding the actress being so upset by a particular line that she actually walked off the set. Now, with a lot of time having passed, Rogen has finally clarified why Watson was upset enough to need to take a minute and get herself together.

My wife and I went last week… and it ended up being a movie I had circled on my release calendar: “Novocaine.” And I’m so happy to report the movie is awesome. It follows this mild-mannered bank executive (played by Jack Quaid) who literally can’t feel pain – like at all. But when a robbery goes down and his coworker gets taken hostage, he has to step up in the most ridiculous, over-the-top way possible. After first making a name for himself in Hollywood with roles in films like The Spectacular Now, the Divergent trilogy, That Awkward Moment, and Fantastic Four, Miles Teller experienced a resurgence in popularity following his scene-stealing performance in the 2022 blockbuster hit Top Gun: Maverick. The highly-buzzed-about sequel to the celebrated '80s classic featured Teller teaming up with silver screen staple Tom Cruise's test pilot and flight instructor Pete "Maverick" Mitchell as he teaches a new group of ambitious Top Gun graduates.
Prior to Maverick, Teller famously appeared in two well-received but financially underwhelming films: Todd Phillips' black crime comedy War Dogs and the war drama Thank You for Your Service. Let's take a closer look at the war movies and how he finally landed a slam dunk at the box office by starring in Top Gun: Maverick.

You know how sometimes an obsession can lead you to the most unexpected places? That’s what happened when Brad Pitt dove deep into the world of Moneyball, a film about baseball that has absolutely nothing to do with the game as we know it. Instead of focusing on thrilling matches or grand slam moments, this movie centers on numbers, stats, and the quiet genius of Billy Beane (played by Pitt), the Oakland Athletics’ then-general manager.

But this wasn’t a smooth ride for Pitt. What started as a struggle, evolved into one of the most groundbreaking sports dramas. The true behind-the-scenes magic of Moneyball comes from Pitt’s relentless obsession with the story, which, frankly, saved the movie from becoming just another forgettable sports flick.

Brad Pitt is good at many things. He’s a world-renowned actor, a producer, a humanitarian, and, let’s be honest, he’s unfairly good-looking. What if Brad Pitt was one of those rare individuals who excel at everything, leaving little room for anyone else to shine?
Jonah Hill is a talented and hilarious, actor who has carved out a niche as one of Hollywood’s funniest men. He’s written and directed movies, delivered iconic comedic performances, and worked his way into the dramatic sphere with films like The Wolf of Wall Street and Moneyball.

But in the latter, Hill faced a challenge he never expected, Brad Pitt, the Greek god of Hollywood, was somehow also hilarious. And that, dear reader, was the final straw. So what does Jonah Hill absolutely hate about Brad Pitt? Let’s find out.

Close your eyes and tell me quick: What color is Emma Stone’s hair? If your kneejerk (and incorrect) response was “red,” you can blame Judd Apatow.
Producer Apatow realized he had a problem after the comedy Superbad was cast. Martha MacIsaac and Emma Stone were hired to play our heroes’ love interests, but both were brunettes. Come to think of it, so were Michael Cera and Jonah Hill but apparently their body types were enough to tell them apart. Someone asked Apatow what they should do about two brown-haired girlfriends, according to I Am McLovin: How Superbad Became the Biggest Comedy Hit of Its Generation. He considered the problem, took a look at Stone, and suggested, “Well, maybe it could be red or something?”
Stone, making her film debut, didn’t put up a fuss. “We dyed her hair red, which I think she had never done before,” Apatow said.

Emma Stone has been cursing Judd Apatow since 2007 when “Superbad” hit theaters and everyone fell in love with her dyed red hair, the director jokes in a new book.
In an excerpt shared with People from the upcoming book “I Am McLovin: How Superbad Became the Biggest Comedy Hit of Its Generation,” Apatow explained that in order to change up the hair colors of the film’s female leads he made an off-hand remark that, “well, maybe it could be red or something?” That off hand choice has haunted Stone for 18 years.
“So we dyed her hair red, which I think she had never done before,” Apatow said. “And since then, she has cursed me because now people love her with red hair and she’s had to live with that for a lot of her adult life. It was a real tossed-off thought from someone who knows nothing about makeup and hair.

The era of blockbuster rom-coms may be behind us, but Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts and Heath Ledger are still a popular part of today’s streaming mix. In addition to satisfying audiences’ desire for romance, these classic movies now also satisfy cravings for nostalgia.
“Love Actually” reigns supreme among classic rom-coms when it comes to the amount of revenue it has delivered for major streamers since 2020. Parrot Analytics’ Streaming Economics model calculates that this movie has generated over $40M in subscriber revenue for streamers globally in this time. Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn were two of the biggest comedy stars of the 1990s and early 2000s, appearing in a series of hit movies that defined the era. Vaughn’s breakout role in Swingers, followed by memorable turns in Old School and Wedding Crashers, paired with Stiller’s iconic performances in There’s Something About Mary and Zoolander, established them as Hollywood’s go-to funnymen. The duo even showcased their comedic chemistry by collaborating in Dodgeball: A True Underdog’s Story. But as the 2010s rolled in, the Frat Pack frenzy began to wane, and their sci-fi comedy, The Watch, failed to leave a mark. There has been “an air of kismet” about Susan Morrison’s 10-years-in-the-making biography of Saturday Night Live creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels, the author said.
The New Yorker editor managed to penetrate the still-secretive process of making the show, weaving in-the-room reporting from a week when Jonah Hill hosted in 2018 with hundreds of interviews, including many hours with Michaels himself. “There were absolutely no conditions, no strings of any kind,” she told Deadline. “Nobody pulled anything back.”
The result of those efforts, Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live, was published this week by Random House, just two days after the 50th anniversary prime-time special aired on NBC. On nearly each of its 600 pages, the book sheds intriguing light on Michaels and his creation. It documents his winding journey to 30 Rock and revisits defining battles like an infamous showdown with NBC West Coast boss Don Ohlmeyer, who pushed...

About 15 years ago, Guy Lawson had lunch in New York with his editors at Rolling Stone. He was tired of covering the drug wars in Mexico, and wanted to know what else they might be interested in.
“We want you to do stories about young people doing fucked-up things,” he was told.
The conversation led to an article about two stoner arms dealers who became entangled in corruption in Albania, which became a book and then the 2016 movie “War Dogs,” starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller.
“It was a great story,” Lawson says.
It also got him sued. A year after the movie was released, Shkelzen Berisha, the son of the Albanian prime minister, accused Lawson of defamation.
The suit went to the Supreme Court, which refused to hear it. But two justices, Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch, sided with Berisha and suggested that New York Times v. Sullivan, the...

By April 2024, it had become apparent that Jonah Hill had decided to return to the director's chair with Outcome. The upcoming dark comedy would see him not only direct, but star alongside several A-list performers, including Keanu Reeves. Keanu Reeves has become known for his brutal role as dog-loving assassin John Wick in the last decade, but he will be leaving that all behind for an upcoming role that will see him bring back “comedic Keanu.” Jonah Hill-directed Outcome will not only see Reeves being reunited with Cameron Diaz for the first time since 1996 dark comedy Feeling Minnesota, but will also find him leaving behind his action hero persona for something in which he doesn’t even do “one karate punch.”
According to Roy Wood Jr., who also appears in the movie, the film is “extremely funny,” and he shared as much as he was able about Reeves’ appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. Speaking to ScreenRant, he said:
