SonyLIV has launched a new original show titled ‘The Jengaburu Curse’ that is claimed to be India’s first climate fiction (cli-fi) web series. Helmed by Nila Madhab Panda, ‘The Jengaburu Curse’ will start streaming on SonyLIV from 9th August, 2023.

The series is set in Odisha’s Jengaburu, a small mining town that is being ravaged by climate change. The mining expedition in the area has led to the discovery of a strange radical that is causing a mysterious disease to spread. The disease has already killed many people, and it is feared that it could wipe out the entire town.

In the midst of this chaos, Priya (Faria Abdullah), a financial analyst, returns to Jengaburu to find her missing father. Priya soon realizes that there is a dark international conspiracy at play, and that the fate of the town, and even the world, hangs in the balance.

Maninee De is seen playing a lead role of a mother in the short film ‘Bisexuality’ and she feels that the topic of the film is bold but it is a subject that need to be discussesd and highligted.

She says: “Unfortunately, we live in a world where we are put into boxes and labels, and our sexuality sort of speaks about who we are. But, I genuinely feel that sexuality is something which is very personal, and everybody should be allowed their orientation.”

“The way that they want to live life, their love language, these things are very personal to every human being. So, yes, it is still a taboo subject. And people do not speak about it very openly. Now, of course, people have started talking about it. But there is still a judgment. We can’t live in a bubble and say that it does not exist.

Actors seemed irked at a holi shoot for Sahara One’s show, Kesariya Balam Aavo Hamare Des. The choreographer took very long to set the steps.Manini De, who plays Padma, complained of sunburn and stomped out of the set. Ditto others. Its celebration time for the star cast and crew of Maniben.com as the show successfully completed its 100 episodes on Sab, India’s leading family comedy entertainment channel. Stars from the show including Smriti Irani and Nitin Vakharia who play the two essential characters of Maniben and Jaman Patel along with Manini De-Mishra, Simple Kaul, Sharad Vyas, Dolly Bindra, Dilip Rawal, Sudha Shivpuri and Bijal Batavia amongst others were present for the mega party held at Raheja Classic Club, Andheri, Mumbai.

Commenting on the 100th episode of Maniben.com, Mr. Anooj Kapoor Business Head Sab, said,.

Ajai Sinha’s Agnisakshi is now renamed as Kesariya Baalam Padharo Mare Desh which is soon to roll on Sahara One. This can be termed as a love story cum family drama which will start from next month.

“All I can say is that this is a love story but also focuses on the other characters in the show. You can term this as typical Ajai Sinha’s show,” stated Mahesh Shetty.

Manini De Mishra will be opposite Mahesh in the show. “Yes she is essaying the role of my wife in the show. It’s very interesting character but it would be better if you ask her,” he adds further.

When asked of when the show is coming on air the actor quips, “It’s going to be in November but I don’t have the idea about the launch date.

The health effects of second hand smoking are as serious as smoking itself. “Once I was with my friends and we were discussing something in a room. Four of them were smoking. It was very claustrophobic for me”, actress Manini De recalls her experience as passive smoker. For all you young guys out there who believe smoking is style.
