The Baby-Sitters Club reboot hit Netflix on July 3, and we're already ready for more. Luckily for us, the series was renewed for season two on Wednesday, and it's set to premiere sometime in 2021.
While Netflix has yet to release any other details, we have a lot of hope for a renewal. In case you weren't aware, by the time The Baby-Sitters Club ceased publication in 2000, there were 213 books in the series. The first season is only 10 episodes long, with each focusing on one of the members of the titular club, which means there's a wealth of untapped potential Netflix can pull from. In fact, the cast of the new series - Sophie Grace (Kristy Thomas), Malia Baker (Mary Anne Spier), Shay Rudolph (Stacey McGill), Momona Tamada (Claudia Kishi), and Xochitl Gomez (Dawn Schafer) - spoke to Popsugar about some of the things they'd like to see in a future season.

When Netflix announced The Baby-Sitters Club would premiere on July 3, we couldn't have been more thrilled. Although the 10-episode series has been updated from the '90s to the present in order to tackle modern-day issues, you can still expect the adventures from Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez) that you've grown to know and love.
The first season revolves around the creation of the titular club along with the trials and tribulations the girls face within their relationships with each other, boys, and their families. One of the best things about the books and the original 1995 film adaptation is just how strong the group's dynamic is, and it seems like the newest The Baby-Sitters Club stars have taken this to heart. The group of five spoke with Popsugar ahead of the premiere about their love of the books,...

Adapting any book to screen can be a complicated task, but when it is a book series that consists of more than 200 stories, the process seems that much more arduous. And that is exactly what Rachel Shukert, showrunner of Netflix’s “The Baby-Sitters Club,” was facing when she signed on to translate author Ann M. Martin’s classic coming-of-age franchise.
First published in 1986, “The Baby-Sitters Club” series of novels ranges from the original 131-book series about a group of teenage girls who started the titular baby-sitting club in their neighborhood to earn some extra money to subsequent spinoffs and special volumes that included almost 40 mystery titles, half a dozen in the single character “Portrait Collection” series, a turn-of-the-millennium “Friends Forever” subset, 15 “Super Special” aka super-sized novels, and a prequel. (Not to mention the graphic novels and “Little Sisters” spinoff that eventually followed.)

You couldn’t be a young girl in the 1990s and not know of Ann M. Martin’s “The Baby-Sitters Club.” Inspired by Martin’s entrepreneurial group of tweens, my friends and I regularly attempted to organize a baby-sitting club, before we realized we’d actually have to watch other people’s children, and I came to the sad realization that babysitters with disabilities aren’t exactly in demand. When the feature film debuted in 1995, it was a success — more so for fans of the novels than commercially — but television has been slow to embrace the series outside of a one-season wonder in 1990.
“The Baby-Sitters Club” could have easily sailed on the nostalgia of a generation past but series creator Rachel Shukert skillfully brings together the old and the new. The basic tenets are still there: Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace) starts the club, referred to from here on out as “the Bsc,...

This review is based of off all 10 episodes of The Baby-Sitters Club‘s first season.
The Baby-Sitters Club is more than just a book series. For many, the story is a girlhood institution. First published in 1986 to capitalize on a proven interest for books about babysitting, the would-be franchise was initially conceived as a four book series, but the kid market was hungry for more. More than 30 years later, the series started by Ann M. Martin includes 213 books (not including the spin-offs or graphic novel adaptations) and has sold more than 180 million books in print in more than 20 languages worldwide. Now, Netflix is hoping to build on that legacy with a new TV series.
For the uninitiated, The Baby-Sitters’ Club is the story of a group of enterprising tweens—Kristy (Sophie Grace), Claudia (Momona Tamada), Mary Anne (Malia Baker), and Stacey (Shay Rudolph)—who start their own babysitting club in the fictional town of Stoneybrook,...

Netflix is adapting a new family series based on the beloved book series The Baby-Sitters Club. So far, we haven’t received tons of information, but we now have our first casting information, with Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein.
The show will follow the books, which chronicled the friendships and baby-sitting adventures of five best friends Kristy Thomas, Mary Anne Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer in their suburban hometown of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Silverstone will play Kristy’s mom, Elizabeth, and Feuerstein with play Watson Brewer, Elizabeth’s love interest.
Fans of the books span the last several decades, and with over 200 books in print, the series has no shortage of stories to be told. It will be fun to have a family series that I will be able to enjoy alongside my daughter. The series has a ten-episode first season order, and we don’t have a release date yet,...

Say hello to your friends! Again! Netflix is making a new Baby-Sitters Club series. If you live under a rock, the Baby-Sitters Club is a series of books for young readers about a group of entrepreneurial tweens who start their own baby-sitting agency. See, it all started when Kristy Thomas’s single mother needed a baby-sitter for Kristy’s younger brother, David Michael. Kristy couldn’t do it, and as she watched her mother make call after call after call to find someone who was available, she had her Great Idea: What if you could call one number and reach several baby-sitters at once?
There aren’t a lot of details, but we do know that the series will follow the “friendship and babysitting adventures of five best friends,” so presumably it will be the Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, and Dawn iteration of the club, and it will “reflect modern-day issues,...

Tomorrow's a big day in Baby-Sitters Club history — not as big as the day Kristy Thomas had her great idea, but a big day nonetheless.
