Having secured a piece of the NFL broadcast pie, Amazon is now looking to expand its sports programming with a slate of talk shows.
The 12-hour block of shows, set to launch Nov. 1, will feature hosts including former ESPN anchor Cari Champion, Australian tennis commentator Rennae Stubbs and former Bleacher Report host Master Tesfatsion. Embassy Row, the production company headed by Jeopardy! executive producer (and co-host of the soccer podcast and TV show Men in Blazers) Michael Davies, is producing the lineup.
The goal is to feature up-and-coming talent in front of the camera and a “positive, uplifting take on sports” as opposed to the argument-based format on big players like ESPN and Fox Sports 1, Amazon’s vp global sports video Marie Donoghue told the New York Post, which first reported the news.

Nick Cannon has been making the promotional rounds for his new film, Chi-Raq, and during an interview with Ben Lyons for IMDb Asks, the actor opened up about his Christmas plans with his twins, Monroe and Moroccan, and ex-wife, Mariah Carey, revealing that his children want "every toy commercial that's on Nickelodeon." He added, "They got it down, Mommy's getting me this, Daddy's getting me this, Santa's getting me this. They use the gadgets better than me, every tablet, etc." Nick also spoke about Mariah and how their kids idolize her, saying, "They get to see her [Mariah] in every aspect, travel the world, and on the stage. Her ability to sing right there on the spot for them. Mommy is an angel, a goddess to them, and Daddy's fun and silly. It's kind of cool for them to watch how they embrace entertainment. According to John Green’s novel of the same name, “Paper Towns” are locations that only exist on maps, mythological places for mapmakers to ID their work. Luckily, on the evening of Friday, July 17, YouTube Space La was definitely not one of these imaginary destinations.
Rolling out the red carpet in honor of the book’s upcoming film adaptation, Los Angeles’ YouTube Space hosted a lavish livestream event to celebrate the flick and its accompanying soundtrack. With many members of Paper Towns’ cast and contributing music artists in attendance, the event was something of a coming home for Green, whose roots to the YouTube and digital communities remain strong.

ABC says this is the first year when it will stream the full Oscar telecast, pre-show, and Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars — though they’re just for pay-tv customers in certain markets. But anyone will be able to check out programming designed for tablets and smartphones to complement the TV broadcast, something that the network began offering in 2011. As for the telecast itself: It’ll be available live and, for three days beginning Monday, on demand online at Oscar.com, ABC.com, and WatchABC.com – and mobile users can tune in through the Watch ABC app. The streams will only go to markets where ABC owns the local station (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh-Durham, and Fresno), and they’ll only be accessible to those who subscribe to pay TV services that support the app (Comcast, Cablevision, Cox, Charter, Midcontinent, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber, and...

Ben Mankiewicz hails from a famous film-making family, but that didn't make him a shoo-in as one of Turner Classic Movies' two hosts.
The channel's weekend-afternoon guide also appears often in short pieces between the feature attractions daily -- visiting iconic Hollywood sites or locations where legendary movies were filmed, among other activities -- and he's enjoying his steadily increasing TCM presence. By no means was he sure at the start, though, that he would land the coveted job.
"I had worked in local news, and I didn't want to anymore," Mankiewicz explains to Zap2it. "I auditioned for what seemed like a thousand shows, and I did the TCM audition and thought, 'I know I did well, but I know I won't get it, because it's the greatest thing I've ever auditioned for.' And as it turned out, I found the one place where they liked that my last name was Mankiewicz.

Any time you can fly and be angry about it, it’s pretty awesome.” Her “Oz” co-star, James Franco, was also in attendance. “I guess it hasn't sunken in that I'm the Wizard of Oz,” the actor laughed with Lyons. One of the greatest things about the Sundance Film Festival is learning about movies you probably have never heard of, until now. For example, Ben Lyons was on the red carpet in Park City, Utah, for the Wish You Were Here premiere, and got a chance to chat with two of the film's leading stars, Joel Edgerton and Teresa Palmer. Warning: Both celebs have extremely sexy accents. And that makes sense, seeing as they are both Australian. So why even leave the sunny Outback for the cold and snowy banks of Utah? "I don't mind because I do like a bit of skiing and snowboarding, so if I can sneak away and do that, that's cool. I just like how relaxed this whole festival is," Edgerton...
