The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life call sheet is longer than the list of Emily’s fired housekeepers, but there are a handful of alums who will be absent from the Netflix revival. Among the Mia vets: Wayne Wilcox’s Rory-crushing Marty.
But exec producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino (who wrote and directed all four installments, out Nov. 25) maintain that they very much wanted Wilcox’s fan favorite character to make the trip back to Stars Hollow.

Any ardent lover of Gilmore Girls has had those moments envisioning what life would be like dating Jess, Dean or Logan. The popular podcast Gilmore Guys, co-produced by Kevin Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe, has taken the conversation to a new level by going on tour.
Each live performance is cheekily called a "Town Meeting" in honor of the weekly ritual in Stars Hollow. Like fans before them, Porter and Adejuyigbe analyze the intricate relationships, but what makes this fandom unique is that Gilmore Girls stars are stepping on stage to join the commentary.

It isn't often, but when opportunities like this come along, we wish we lived closer to New York City. Carrie has returned to the stage in a newly revised Off-Broadway production that began January 31, and to help make up for the fact that many of us won't be able to see it, we have a trio of stills to share.
Playbill provided the photos, which feature Molly Ranson in the title role, opposite Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie as her religiously fanatical mother, Margaret White.
Stafford Arima helms the latest incarnation of the pop musical that has been retooled by the original writers, who have refined the focus of the story, including lyric rewrites and several new songs. Carrie has a score by Academy Award winner Michael Gore and Academy Award-winning lyricist Dean Pitchford and a book by original film screenwriter Lawrence D. Cohen. Plus stand inside an imploding building, Wile E. Coyote is back on the big screen, and why are the Backstreet Boys playing San Francisco Pride?
James Franco has announced yet another role, beyond yesterday’s R-rated comedy and the summer story on General Hospital. He’s going to star as the scientist that raises the apes up to overthrow humanity in the Planet of the Apes sequel. What, Keanu Reeves was busy?
The thought of shooting a documentary about the attendees of San Diego Comic-Con is somewhat intimidating for me, but if I could assemble a dream team of Morgan Spurlock, Thomas Tull, Stan Lee, Joss Whedon and Harry Knowles, I might be willing to try it.
Madonna, who has extensive charitable operations in Malawi, has released a statement calling on the people of Malawi to challenge their government over the 14-year hard labor sentences for Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga.
