The first secret of the zoo is that, thanks to Secrets of the Zoo, there aren’t many secrets at the zoo. Through two and a half seasons of television, Nat Geo Wild’s series has taken viewers behind the scenes of one of the largest and most popular zoos in the country: the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Columbus, Ohio.
While the zoo and its associated conservation center, The Wilds, are staggering in their scale and scope, Secrets of the Zoo makes the whole operation feel a lot more intimate. Recently, Nat Geo Wild gave us the opportunity to take in several of those acres and animals, inviting Den of Geek on a visit to meet with some creatures and the human beings who care for them.
Like just about everywhere else, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is closed now due to the coronavirus outbreak, and has been since March 16. Five days earlier,...

Later, Timothy Olyphant from .Justified. tells a few stories about his early off-Broadway theater acting days in New York and how he handles some of the crazier fans of his show. Last night on Late Night, Molly Shannon strolled down memory lane with her SNL buddy, Jimmy Fallon, and amidst their nostalgia, she reenacted her signature "Superstar!" move. Plus: Here's some Valentine's Day science for you: The largest and smallest penis bones belong to the unlikeliest of mammals. "The more romance you have, the less-sized penis bone you're required," explained animal handler Jarod Miller. Of course, human beings are ruled out (not for that reason but) because men don't have penis bones necessitated by living in the wild. So among the tiger, the raccoon, and the walrus, which do you think is the best endowed (or most jealous)? Also, Julianne Hough puked all over her first kiss; and Rachel Weisz declared her character, Evanora of Oz, The Great and Powerful, a "sociopath." Watch our compilation to see what you missed.

It's that time of year again, when television has become sufficiently slim pickings and my holiday schedule has grown full enough that I have to leave you all to your own television scheduling devices until the early days of 2011. I hope the season finds you all as well as can be and that you've got good things to look forward to in the next week and a half and beyond. And finally, thank you for reading and participating; writing this would be no fun without all of you out there in internet-land. Here's your Wednesday night TV for the last time in 2010:
8:00pm: "The 12th Annual A Home for the Holidays" on CBS
"Top Ten Monks" on HBO2. I don't get HBO2 and I'm very sad about that because this title is infuriatingly intriguing.
"Human Target" on Fox
"Undercovers" on NBC
9:00pm: "I'll Do Anything" on Bbca
"Man vs.

I am done! I turned in my final essay last night and this semester is finally over for me! Wooooo! Obviously I still have other obligations, but it's just a big weight off my mind that I've got a few months off from schoolwork. I'm gonna be going out tonight to celebrate, but for those of you who have to stay in and be responsible adults, here's what's on TV:
8:00 p.m.: "America's Next Top Model" on The CW.
"Minute to Win It" on NBC. New episode on a special night.
"The New Adventures of Old Christine" on CBS. Fifth season finale.

Animal Planet adopts series
Animal Planet has greenlighted a weekly primetime series based on pet-adoption Web site Petfinder.com, which the network acquired last year.
Similar to the site, Petfinder will aim to match families with pets -- ranging from pythons to pigs to puppies -- from local animal shelters. The 13-part hourlong series, set to debut in first-quarter 2008, will be co-hosted by wildlife expert Jarod Miller, who has appeared on such talk shows as The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and Rachael Ray, and dog trainer Dina Zaphiris, who has schooled the dogs of Al Pacino, Bruce Willis and Nicolas Cage.
The co-hosts will help find the perfect match between animals and people by introducing them to "teacher pets" who have been adopted into other homes but are temporarily placed in the Petfinder family homes to help them find the pet that best fits their lifestyle.
Petfinder has gone into production in and around Los Angeles and is shot in high-def.
