The hit series 9-1-1: Lone Star is preparing to end its run, but it appears that another 9-1-1 spinoff series will take its place. It's being reported that a new 9-1-1 spinoff is in the works with its planned location revealed.
Per Deadline, a second 9-1-1 spinoff series is in development at ABC from Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear. According to the report, Hawaii has emerged as the likely setting for the planned new show. Previously, it was reported that Las Vegas was becoming a contender for the spinoff, but the focus is now said to be largely on the Aloha State. As of now, however, the project hasn't been officially greenlit, and ABC has not offered an official comment on the news.

Review: Cars in the ultimate black sheep in the Pixar catalog. A passion project for writer/director John Lasseter, the Cars trilogy of films are the lowest-rated Pixar films according to Rotten Tomatoes. They also happen to be mediocre performers at the box office compared to the rest of Pixar’s output, but the franchise is easily one of the top grossing properties thanks to the instantly marketable toys and merchandising associated with it. Whether you’re looking for practical acting advice or for an evening of improvised entertainment, Eric Stonestreet’s ongoing shows at iO West Theater fit the bill. On Oct. 10, Nov. 14, and Dec. 12, the “Modern Family” funny man will be joined by Michael Bunin and Dana Powell—his former improv teammates at the Los Angeles comedy venue—for a show that combines career-oriented questions from the audience and long-form riffs on Stonestreet’s responses. “It’s a fun and nurturing environment,” Stonestreet told Backstage. “You’re in the hands of experienced people who have all done and felt the way you’re feeling.” The evening’s format allows for both thoughtful and honest responses to real actorly questions, and the impeccable comic stylings of three pros onstage. “We’ve played together before,” said Stonestreet of Bunin, a longtime commercial and guest star, and Powell, who co-stars on “Modern Family” as Stonestreet’s sister.

Elementary serves up a whydunit this week, which takes some of the fun out of things for the viewer…
This review contains spoilers.
3.15 When Your Number’s Up
This week’s whydunit made a change from Elementary’s usual whodunit mysteries, though not necessarily a welcome one. Spending the episode steps ahead of the Great Detective and waiting for him to catch up rather spoils the point of a Sherlock Holmes story, wouldn’t you say?
We’re here to marvel at Holmes’ deductive genius and be stunned by his final revelation, not to drum our fingertips while he laboriously inches towards the same knowledge we’ve had since the opening scene. Arguably, the most satisfying part of any Sherlock story is the point at which he swoops on the culprit, police ready and waiting, and simultaneously explains the game to Watson and the readers.

Back in the Game, Season 1, Episode 3, “Play Hard or Go Home”
Directed by Eyal Gordin
Written by Gregg Mettler
Airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm Est on ABC
Wednesday’s line-up is continuing to be the strongest this fall as the new shows begin to find their footing. Back in the Game is a lot stronger this week, as “Play Hard or Go Home” starts to follow a more enjoyable format. The episode is much more entertaining than the first two, as it finds a way to include all of the characters. So far the focus is usually just on Terry and while it is entertaining, the show really feels like it’s missing something. The strongest part of this episode is that The Cannon gets a bigger and more meaningful storyline. Back in the Game is quite similar to The Goldbergs in that they both portray a more accurate depiction...
