Anneli Gericke is an Emmy nominated television producer, with
hundreds of internationally acclaimed shows across Africa, Europe and
the United States. Ms. Gericke started her career in South Africa in 1996,
working in the music Industry where she ran a 24-hour Music Channel -
Mtv Africa, and produced and managed award winning music videos and
commercials for local and international broadcast.
In 1999, she left the music industry to work for the South African Natural History Unit on wildlife documentaries in the Kruger National Park. It was a rare opportunity to live in the wild and one that would shape her later work in conservation and wildlife programming. While working in Kruger National Park, she lived in a caravan among the wildlife, working on productions with Parthenon Entertainment.
In 2000 Ms. Gericke immigrated to the United States, where reality show mogul Mark Burnett of "Survivor" fame recruited her. She became part of the producing team on "The Apprentice", an Emmy nominated reality show with real estate tycoon, Donald Trump. Ms. Gericke spent three years at Mark Burnett Productions, helping to create an international franchise with "The Apprentice" that was ultimately sold all over the world, including to South Africa.
Ms. Gericke worked on numerous major network reality shows, like Extreme Home Makeover, Naked and Afraid, Intervention, Lock Up, Homestead Rescue. She has hosted, produced and directed a variety of series for Nat Geo, A & E Animal Planet and Discovery Channel, featured in "Raw Nature", filmed on location in Africa, by the producers of the Emmy Award winning Series "Deadliest Catch".
In 2007, Ms Gericke developed "Wildlife Rescue Africa" an international Wildlife Show about 2 of the most acclaimed wildlife veterinarians in the world, and their deadly encounters as they risk their lives to save wild animals all over the world. The 12 part series has won international acclaim and was a hot pick at the Miptv Market in Cannes 2010. It is in distribution and has been bought by National Geographic and Discovery Networks, selling in 6 foreign territories.
Ms Gericke has 6 shows in development, Sky Rangers, Poacher Patrol, Baboon Town, Africa After Dark 3D, Shanty Town Princess and Betraying the Badge. Today, she is fast establishing a brand associated with top quality programming, focusing on expert story telling as the most important aspect of wildlife programming; to bring it into the fore of reality programming today.
Ms. Gericke has a political Science degree from the University of Pretoria, speaks 4 languages.
