On October 11th, horror and sci-fi fans have many reasons to rejoice, as we have two stellar Collector’s Edition releases from Scream Factory coming our way this week, The Thing and Carrie. Arrow Video is also keeping busy this Tuesday with two Special Edition releases of their own—The Hills Have Eyes and Dark Water (2002)—and the most recent Ghostbusters comes home this week on Blu-ray and DVD as well.
Other notable releases for October 11th include Hannibal: The Complete Series, 2 Jennifer, Astro-Zombies, Killer Ink, a holiday art version of Krampus, the entire run of Kolchak: The Night Stalker on DVD, A Werewolf in the Amazon collection, and an assortment of Blu-ray and DVD re-releases of The Twilight Zone.

Warning: Major 'Interstellar' spoilers lie ahead! Interstellar is the most and least confusing movie that Christopher Nolan has ever made. The most confusing, because the spacefaring odyssey takes the filmmaker's usual Rubik's-cube narrative structure and blends in a hearty dose of upper-level astrophysics. Some of the astrophysics is real; all of it is really confusing. But Interstellar is also the most straightforward story of Nolan's career—more emotionally clear-cut than the story-within-a-story nesting-doll epics The Prestige and Inception, and unencumbered by the globo-metropolitan sociopolitics of his Dark Knight trilogy. Spoilers from here—but if you feel like you...

"Glee" has released the tracks for the upcoming Jan. 15 episode, "Yes/No," and we have one word: Amazing!
From recent hits, like "We Found Love," sung by Rachel and Santana, Usher's "Without You" and Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" mashed up with The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash," to American classics, such as "Summer Nights," the New Directions are going all out.
Since that the episode revolves around Mr. Schuester proposing to Emma, Emma, finally getting another solo, sings "Wedding Bells" by Fifth Dimension. Judging from the lyrics, Emma might be the one proposing -- "Marry me, Will."
Helping the show celebrate its return is guest star NeNe Leakes, the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star. NeNe will guest star as the new swim coach. And that's not all! Dame Helen Mirren is also reportedly making a vocal appearance.
Take a listen below and tell us what you think.

It's that time again -- next week's "Glee" songs are out! The tracks from Jan. 17's "Yes/No" are officially released. Let's examine, shall we?
We've already heard the contemporary tunes from the episode, including Rihanna's "We Found Love" sung by Rachel and Santana and Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" mashed up with The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash." But now that they're out officially, hopefully they won't get yanked from YouTube as quickly. (If they do get pulled, you can listen to all the songs from the episode over at GleetheMusic.com.)
The "Summer Nights" duet between Sam and Mercedes already popped up online, but we're glad to have an official version to play over and over. (We can't help but love Chord Overstreet's Travolta impression way too much than we probably should.)

Before I began writing for Shadowlocked in early 2010, I used to jot my media-related thoughts down on a humble little personal blog of mine. Though the blog itself will remain nameless, as such self-promotion would be unseemly, I can say that two articles contained within were far and away the most popular and most read pieces. Both were lists on The Twilight Zone. I have wanted to revisit the Zone for some time and various ideas have ever simmered on the back burner while I have written for Shadowlocked. Happily, it would seem that I've managed to stumble into that vaunted Fifth Dimension once again.

*Full disclosure: Gravitas Ventures provided a screener of this documentary.
Director: Franz Ferdinand Fleischmann.
"Devils, demons, and evil spirits. Since time began, they have stalked our souls and priests have tried to cast them out. Does evil really walk the earth or is it just inside our minds?" This introduction teases viewers about things in heaven and earth that not all mortals are meant to comprehend. In the Fifth Dimension: Exorcism, this documentary looks at the question of: is the devil truly real?
This episode takes a look at a strange case of demonic possession that happened in Germany. Anneliese Michel's medical treatment is one shrouded with controversy. Was she truly possessed by the devil or was she simply misdiagnosed? The result of the months spent in exorcising the creature(s) that lurked inside her was death. Amongst those who followed this case, there is a wide belief...

"There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."
So begins a journey through the unknown. Every week, you will witness my exploits in making my way, chronologically, through the vast fifth dimension we know as The Twilight Zone. If I return from my voyage, I hope to be a better man; enlightened, educated, socially aware and profoundly moved.
Oh, and yeah, spoilers are likely. So, for the uninitiated, please beware.

I went to Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA for their upcoming flick "Up."
I love this film, and I will post my interviews with director Pete Docter, producer Jonas Rivera, Jordan Nagai (voice of Russell), and the talented Ed Asner (voice of Carl Fredericksen).
I will also post my review of "Up" very soon. Anyway, I just want to share with you some fun photos!
They strapped a sofa on a multitude of balloons, then they strap me, and let me fly, fly, fly! Yay!
I Loved It! I did all my segment stand-ups while I was up in the air! Take a look:
*** getting ready to fly
*** almost there
*** not afraid of heights at all
*** clutching the stuffed toy Dug while holding for my dear life :happy
And here's the video to the tune of Fifth Dimension's "Up, Up, and Away" :happy...

Many thanks to Tsuka for filling in some details on this. The project turns out to be a manga drawn by Tanaka seperate from his work with 4C and without the intention of adapting it into a film. But I kind of wish he would. And I leave this up because it’s fantastic stuff.
Ever wonder why we have so much love for Japanese animation house Studio 4C in these pages? Well, here’s a blast from the past to clear that up for you: a series of treatment images from Tatsuyuki Tanaka’s short Fifth Dimension - in which a dentist shifts his patient’s head into the fifth dimension to treat a toothache - have been put online over at Pink Tentacle. This is stunning stuff - brilliantly drawn, energetic and totally original. Anybody know if this was ever actually made and released anywhere? The images were...
