The Tulip quickly blossomed into front-runner status on “The Masked Dancer” after she came out tapping in the series premiere episode in December. The elegant flower sent panelists Paula Abdul, Brian Austin Green, Ken Jeong and Ashley Tisdale into a frenzy when they realized they were witnessing a dancing phenom. Now in full bloom, the Tulip will compete for the Diamond Mask trophy in hopes of becoming the first celebrity to win the Fox reality TV dancing competition.
Tulip delivered her first performance in Episode 1, dancing her petals off in a tightly choreographed tap routine to “Fergalicious” by Fergie. The panel was convinced the blooming flower was no novice to dance, but they couldn’t decide if she was a professional dancer, athlete or pop star. Tulip’s contemporary performance to “Fields of Gold” by Eva Cassidy in Episode 4 brought guest panelist Rob Lowe to tears and solidified her position as the one to beat.

The Tulip is one of the stand-out stars of season 1 of “The Masked Dancer.” She landed a spot in the Top 4 competing on February 10 with her sensational routine last week set to “My Boyfriend’s Back” by the Chiffons. To solve the mystery of who is hiding inside the Tulip costume, we’ve gone back and watched all of her earlier appearances: “Fergalicious” by Fergie on December 27; “Fields of Gold” by Eva Cassidy on January 20; and “Thank U, Next” by Ariana Grande on January 27. Blake Shelton is in “The Voice” record books for winning three championships in a row from Season 2 to Season 4. Over the past dozen cycles, no other coach has even come close to matching that consecutive record. Until now. With two victories under her belt so far, Kelly Clarkson is just one shy of tying Blake’s record of three in a row that’s held firm for a whopping 12 seasons. Can she pull off this rare feat?
As a refresher, Kelly prevailed in Season 14 with pop artist Brynn Cartelli and again in Season 15 with country singer Chevel Shepherd. (Watch our exclusive interview with Chevel.) That makes Kelly the only female coach in “The Voice” history to win two in a row, and the second overall next to Blake. Of course, Blake has won six overall championships throughout his 16-season coaching career, but only three of those were consecutive.

Jake Wood and Janette Manrara have become the 11th couple to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.
The EastEnders actor and his professional partner found themselves in the dance-off against reality star Mark Wright and his partner Karen Hauer, after the judges' scores were combined with viewer votes.
It was the first time that Wood and Manrara had been in the dance-off, while it was Wright and Hauer's third time in the bottom two.
Wood and Manrara reprised their cha-cha to Kc and the Sunshine Band's 'Boogie Shoes', while Wright and Hauer performed their rumba to Eva Cassidy's 'Fields of Gold'.
Craig Revel Horwood decided to save Wright and Hauer, but Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli opted to keep Wood and Manrara.
Head judge Len Goodman - left with the casting vote - sent Wood home, explaining: "This is very difficult. The cha-cha-cha had little cha-cha-cha content and the rumba had little rumba content,...

Arguably the biggest storyline to emerge from the Sochi Olympics’ inaugural team figure skating event was confirmation that Russia’s 15-year-old Yulia Lipnitskaya is ready to contend for ladies’ gold now (or rather on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20, when their individual competition finally takes place) as opposed to waiting for 2018. With her Gif-worthy flexibility, how long will her programs stay with you?
We asked 1998 gold medalist-turned-commentator Tara Lipinski for her picks for the five most memorable ladies’ performances ever. Four of them came on Olympic ice, one happened at the World Championships (Midori Ito fans, you know it). Watch the video below.

Kelly Clarkson's voice has taken her all around the world - but her dance moves are another story. Clarkson, 31, recently visited coffee farms and performed a special set for farmers and their families in Peru. "It was so funny cause I didn't know if they were gonna like my songs. They would sing along, I think we did like a mini-set for them, so we did a few songs down there. They were dancing, it was just so cool! I felt like I was just in a movie," Clarkson tells People of the performance. "I was dancing with them!

Up and at ‘em, Amanda Seyfried went for an early morning run around Union Square in New York City Friday (September 6). She has plenty of reasons to stay in shape, but one of them is her newly confirmed relationship with Justin Long.
The 27-year-old starlet and 35-year-old actor have been seen hanging out together regularly (along with Miss Seyfried’s dog Finn) in both New York and Los Angeles, but only recently did they decide to go public with their blossoming relationship.
Before taking up with Long, the actress previously dated her ‘Mamma Mia’ co-star Dominic Cooper for three years.
The “Les Miserables” standout recently finished her promotional tour for her most recent movie, “Lovelace,” and she’s now set her sights on playing the late musician Eva Cassidy. She said recently, “Eva has an amazing story and then she was gone. She has this whole catalogue of music--she's amazing.

It's the second knockout, round and time for Jessie and Danny to slim down their teams of seven to a top three. So with 14 acts singing for their survival, who goes to the final and who goes home? Each coach has one Fast Pass that allows a singer straight through to the semi-finals, and the remaining team must sing against the other contestants for a chance to get through.
First up is Team Jessie. She gave her Fast Pass to gentle giant Ash Morgan.
Her first battle was between Danny, Trevor and Sarah. Danny gave a unique twist to 'Be My Baby' by The Ronettes, but failed to make it through. Trevor also put his own spin on 'Gimme Some Lovin' by The Spencer Davis Group, although unfortunately it wasn't enough to win him a place on the team. It was 31-year-old Sarah who got through, after a powerful version...

The battle comes to an end at last on tonight’s edition of The Voice. Tonight’s competition: the single-named, oddly spelled opponents.
Battle 1: Cee Lo puts body shop worker James Massone against Wade with Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors.” (If you haven’t heard Eva Cassidy’s version, it’s also excellent.) The rehearsal is just painful. Babyface says Wade is like Al Green and there’s a calmness about him. Cee Lo says the song should move people.

This week's news in the arts
Autumn is the Ringo of the seasons. It often gets overlooked, when set next to the artistic possibilities – cold, new life and heat – offered at other times of year. No other season, certainly, is covered by such a small canon.
John Keats obviously leads the way with To Autumn, a poem which suggests that even in 1819 this was the bridesmaid season. "Thou hast thy music too," Keats protests, lest anyone think spring more worthy of his poetry. What he had not arrived at was the idea that dying leaves could be compared to human sadness. That was Verlaine's job, with the Chanson d'Automne. Read this aloud in your best French accent: "Les sanglots longs/ Des violons/ De l'automne/ Blessent mon coeur/ D'une longeur/ Monotone." You are now 18% cooler, and 56% more depressed.
The same idea animates the song Autumn Leaves, sung by Edith Piaf, Nat King Cole,...

As The Voice heads into the battle rounds, frontrunners are beginning to emerge. One such leader appears to be Javier Colon. In the blind audition round the soulful father of two got all four judges to turn their big red chairs around just because of the sound of his singing. Ultimately he chose Adam Levine of Maroon Five to be his coach. In a recent conference call interview, Javier explained why he chose Adam, why he almost gave up on music and raising his game.
On Why He Chose Adam as His Coach

Three decades ago today, John Lennon was shot to death outside his home in New York's Dakota building, and in the time since, the world has changed immeasurably ... and not necessarily for the better.
And while fans can endlessly debate how things would've been different had Lennon lived, the iconic musician's most lasting contribution to the planet is his music — songs of hope and ideals, protest and prosperity that still contain the power to make us strive for a better tomorrow. As a testament to this, one of his best-known compositions — "Imagine" — has (and seemingly ever will be) one of the most covered songs on the planet, having been sung by everyone from David Bowie to, well, Will Farrell and Manny Pacquiao.
Over the past decade, the covers have kept rolling in. Some of them miss the mark (and the true spirit) of Lennon's original, piling on the histrionics and...
