"We're always open to revisiting Mare," Ingelsby told reporters during an HBO press conference via Deadline. "I would welcome the chance if we could craft the story. Mare's journey was so emotional, and it was hard to come up with an emotional story. It's hard to come up with one that could compete with losing a son and having to confront that. There are a lot of plotlines we could explore [but] I want to give Mare some space before we build up another emotional trauma. That's hard to jump back into."

One of Jessica Chastain's recent films, with a wide variance in critical and audience reception, just got a major streaming update. The 355, which Chastain stars in along with Lupita Nyong'o, Penlope Cruz, Bingbing Fan, and Diane Kruger, will officially begin streaming on Peacock tomorrow, August 21. The film follows a C.I.A. agent who must team up with other international special forces agents to retrieve a secret weapon that has fallen into the wrong hands. HBO is welcoming three Tony Award winners and one nominee to New York high society in “The Gilded Age” Season 3.

Phylicia Rashad and Jordan Donica will join the period drama series in recurring roles, while Brian Stokes Mitchell and Victoria Clark will appear as guest stars.

“The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic and social change, when huge fortunes were made and lost overnight,” the upcoming season’s logline states. “With the old guard officially deposed, New York society finds itself turned upside down and all must get their house in order. HBO has renewed “The Gilded Age” for a third season days after the period drama’s finale delivered a series high in viewers.

The network said Thursday that the eighth and final episode of the latest season reached a series high as it gained in premiere-night viewers for a sixth consecutive week.

When it comes to TV, how comforting is too comforting? At what point do the vibes outweigh the plot? The Gilded Age has its return date. HBO has announced the premiere date for season two with the release of a trailer. The eight-episode season arrives in October. The first season was released in the first quarter of 2022.

HBO’s finally set a release date and unveiled the first teaser trailer and photos from season two of The Gilded Age, created by Downton Abbey‘s Julian Fellowes. Season two will debut nearly two years after the launch of season one, with HBO setting an October 29, 2023 premiere date.

New episodes of the eight-episode second season will arrive on Sundays at 9pm Et/Pt.

Returning season one stars include Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Morgan Spector, Cynthia Nixon, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Blake Ritson, and Simon Jones. This new season, spanning eight episodes transports viewers to Easter morning 1883. The narrative follows Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) quest for a coveted Academy of Music box, spurring her to challenge Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy) and the established order.

We've waited a long time for The Gilded Age Season 2, and thankfully, we have a premiere date.

HBO revealed this morning that the hit drama series from the creator of Downton Abbey will premiere on Sunday, October 29, at 9 p.m. Et/Pt.

Episodes will also be available to stream on Max.

"The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems, and of huge fortunes made and lost," the logline teases.

Things will heat up in HBO’s “The Gilded Age” Season 2, and not just on the railroads.

As Ward McAllister (Nathan Lane) escorts Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) to some sort of social event, his voiceover reminds viewers that Bertha has almost everything she could ever want.

“Mrs. Russell, you conquered New York,” Lane’s McAllister says at the beginning of the clip released by Max Wednesday morning. “You dine in the best houses. But are you sure it’s wise to start the war with New York society? Aren’t you asking for trouble?”

“Yes, and you’ll need to pick a team,” Coon’s Russell responds. “Head-to-head and one will be the winner.”

Brad Inglesby, who wrote for the acclaimed HBO show, Mare of Easttown, had been announced as a writer of a new Apple Original drama, titled Echo Valley. The new feature has already tapped Julianne Moore and Euphoria‘s Syndey Sweeny to star as mother and daughter in the drama. The Hollywood Reporter has now learned that actor Domhnall Gleeson will be joining the cast of the film that will be produced by Ridley Scott for his company, Scott Free.

The plot synopsis per THR reads,

“Echo Valley centers on Kate Garrett (Moore), who is reeling from a personal tragedy and spending her days boarding and training horses at the picturesque Echo Valley Farm, in southeast Pennsylvania. When her wayward daughter Clare (Sweeney) arrives late one night covered in someone else’s blood, the story veers into thriller territory and examines how far a mother will go to save her child.

People showing up at your door without warning can put you in an imposition. Meanwhile, people arriving at your place soaked in blood in another story altogether. What’s your first question for this guest? Do you help them hide the body? Deadline over the weekend kicked off movie awards season with Contenders Film: New York, a showcase for Big Apple audiences and voters highlighting some of the year’s buzziest movies so far. The event at Manhattan’s The Times Center featured eight films, with casts and creatives joining in for panel discussions about the stories behind their work.

One of the juiciest much-awaited stories this season is Universal Pictures’ She Said, the Maria Schrader-directed telling of the investigation behind New York Times’ 2017 exposé of Harvey Weinstein that launched the #MeToo movement in Hollywood. Based on the 2019 book by the story-breaking journalists Jodi Kantor and Meghan Twohey, Zoe Kazan will be here to talk about her role as Kantor, starring opposite Carey Mulligan as Twohey.

As with She Said, stories based on truth tend to rank high among Oscar contenders, and this year is no exception.

After finding an apartment in Los Angeles, Danielle Deadwyler utilized her teenage son and taped her audition scene for “Till.” The scene shows Mamie and Emmett’s final interaction in their home before being sent off to suffer an unspeakable fate and one that every parent of a Black child fears. During her interview for Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast, we told her that many young people will be inspired to get into the film business after watching her performance. “Well, shit,” she stutters. “Let’s take that on. But how do you make a better clearing for people following behind you?”
