Red Bull Studios and London-based Featuristic Films have partnered on “Art of the Jump,” a feature documentary about the life and career of Sébastien Foucan, a well-known French athlete.
Directed by James Kermack, the documentary follows Foucan’s humble upbringing in the French suburb of Lisses to sports stardom. Foucan is known for participating in extreme sports such as freerunning and parkour, where he crosses obstacles through the use of running, jumping, climbing and rolling.
The film is produced by Julien Loeffler and James Kermack for Featuristic Films and Philipp Manderla and Dominique Cutts for Red Bull Studios. Production on the film recently wrapped after shooting across the U.K. and France.
“Sébastien Foucan’s story is a testament to the power of determination, innovation and the relentless pursuit of one’s dreams, dreams that ultimately come at a cost,” said Kermack, who described Foucan as “a man who refuses...

(Welcome to Best Action Scene Ever, a column dedicated to breaking down the best, most effective action sequences throughout the genre. In this edition, we look back at the birth of a new Bond in the opening moments of 2006's "Casino Royale.")
It may be hard for some to remember now, especially in light of the downright schmaltzy ending the character received in "No Time To Die," but Daniel Craig's James Bond wasn't always given the red carpet treatment as if he were the homecoming hero for the ages. In the early 2000s, the rough-cut blonde was largely an unproven talent who was mostly familiar to audiences for a bit role in Steven Spielberg's "Munich," his leading turn in Matthew Vaughn's "Layer Cake," and an appearance in 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider." Without the benefit of an established history to his name, diehards and general audiences alike...

For a while, Hollywood flirted with Parkour as a way to spice up action scenes. The most notable example was in 2006's "Casino Royale" when Daniel Craig's Bond pursued freerunner Sébastien Foucan across the Madagascar landscape, up a large crane and down again, and into an embassy which he promptly blew up. It was quite the sequence, and the first to significantly showcase freerunning (Parkour's cousin) in a major Hollywood blockbuster.
Parkour became increasingly popular in North America during the first decade of the 2000s, becoming somewhat of an internet sensation and occasionally cropping up in mainstream culture. By 2009, even the staff over at Dunder Mifflin were getting in on the action. "The Office" started its sixth season with a now fondly-remembered, infinitely-memed cold open that saw Michael, Dwight, and Andy attempting some highly questionable Parkour moves around the office.
But prior to Hollywood's tentative love affair with Parkour,...

"This is my world... And I control everything in it." Samuel Goldwyn Films has released an official trailer for Knuckledust, an intense action-thriller movie that looks like a mash-up between Fight Club and The Raid (the original one from 2011). A specialized police task force discovers an elite fight club (called "Club Knuckledust") where they find seven underground levels, each filled with the dead bodies of fighters from around the world. Only one man is found left alive. The task force has to work out if he's a mass murderer or the lone survivor? Of course, we already know he fought his way down there and is probably the winner. But still! This looks brutally intense. Starring Moe Dunford, Kate Dickie, Camille Rowe, Phil Davis, Alex Ferns, Olivier Richters, Jaime Winstone, Gethin Anthony, and Sebastien Foucan. This looks like it could be seriously badass, or one big, bloody mess. Hopefully it's...

Here’s a first look at Moe Dunford (Vikings) and Kate Dickie (The Witch) in James Kermack’s action thriller Knuckledust.
Camille Rowe (Now Is Everything) also stars. In the pic, after the police are called to take down an elite underground fighting den, they get more than they bargained for when they discover seven levels of hell, filled with the dead bodies of multiple fighters, assassins and goons, with just one bloodied man still breathing. They have 90 minutes to find out if he’s the lone survivor or a multiple murderer.
Kermack (Hi-Lo Joe) wrote the screenplay and is reuniting with producers Julien Loeffler and Fabrice Smadja at Featuristic Films, with The Project producers Laurent Fumeron, Daniel Goroshko and Rodolphe Sanzé.
Film is being made in association with OneWorld Entertainment, Trigger Films and Onsight.
WTFilms is handling sales. Project is filming now in the UK and wraps on November 30.

According to the company, more than 120,000 customers attended the immersive event screening, which took in just over £8M ($10M) in ticket receipts.
The show transformed a 70,000 square foot warehouse in East London into a multi-layered set where audience members – who had been recruited pre-show as part of ‘Operation Wildcard’ – embarked on a mission including stunts and set pieces brought-to-life by a cast of actors, including parkour and freerunning choreographed by Sebastien Foucan, who played Mollaka in the film. The production included live music, poker, bars and culminated in a screening of the movie. Tickets cost between £49-£175 and there were up to five shows per week.

Daniel Craig has officially been James Bond for a decade. Speeding across the Thames on a military boat, he was unveiled to the world's press as the new 007 on October 14, 2005. Since then he's ditched the dodgy suit, sharpened up his haircut and powered the superspy to new highs with more than $2 billion in box office returns.
Prepare to be shaken and stirred with this look back at Daniel Craig's 10 best Bond moments from the past 10 years.
1. Those blue swimming trunks
The Bond series began with a bikini-clad Ursula Andress emerging from the sea in Dr No, but Craig gender-flipped this iconic moment in a pair of sky blue trunks. But did you know it was all completely unplanned?
"It was actually by accident," Craig said back in 2008. "Where we filmed, off the Bahamas, it's just one of those places where there is a sand shelf and the sand shelf happens to be three-feet deep.

Daniel Craig took over as James Bond 007 in Casino Royale. It was very nearly the best Bond movie of the lot...
This one? Very nearly the best Bond of the lot. Building the entire film around one card game is a masterstroke: the simplicity of the premise allows room for the Bond legend to grow. Umpteen moments of inspiration clamour for attention; Bond inventing the Vesper Martini is a personal favourite. Meanwhile, makers of blue swimming trunks must bow down before the DVD every morning - the collective 'phwoar' as Daniel Craig emerges from the sea echoed around cinemas across the world. Someone doesn’t skip the gym.

Since being introduced back in 1997, Parkour has become a key part of many fast-paced action sequences. With the aim being to get from A to B as quickly as possible, it’s easy to see why our protagonists would favour this mode of ‘transport’. With the upcoming release of Brick Mansions on May 2nd, starring Paul Walker and Parkour founder, David Belle (pictured below), we’ve taken a look at some of the best Parkour and free-running scenes, as well as a few that we enjoyed for other reasons.
District B13 (2004) dir. Pierre Morel
David Belle, widely regarded as a founder of the modern parkour movement, eludes a gun-toting gang in a gut-wrenching chase through a French estate block. Impossible precision and stomach-churning drops are the order of the day although we’re unconvinced that the bit with the ladder is allowed in Parkour rules. Casino Royale (2006) dir. Martin Campbell...

Dancing on Ice star Heidi Range has said she believes that judge Katarina Witt was biased against her. The Sugababes singer, who was eliminated from the ITV contest along with Sebastien Foucan on Sunday (February 19), took issue with Witt's statement that she was unable to get herself into lifts like the other girls. "It was unfair because it was never said to any of the other girls, 'Oh he puts you in your lifts'," Range told The Sun. "With the other girls it was always acknowledged what they'd done to hold themselves and get into that lift. "But with mine she seemed to dismiss how much effort I put into them. You have to go for it and hold yourself in there and it is terrifying. It was never said to any of the other girls. I took it personally because (more)...

Sebastien Foucan and Heidi Range have been eliminated from Dancing on Ice. The pair fell in the bottom three along with Chemmy Alcott when viewers' votes and judges' scores for their ultimate skills tests earlier were combined. All three were then challenge to perform a solo skills test in the skate-off, with head judge Robin Cousins making the sole decision as to who would be saved. Foucan's fate appeared to be sealed when he forgot a large portion of his sequence and was forced to skate aimlessly around the ice. He broke down in tears upon stepping out of the rink and was comforted by professional partner Brainne Delcourt, as well as skate-off rival Alcott. "I am so sorry because this is heartbreaking," judge Katarina Witt told him. "We've seen you performing so well." Louie Spence concurred: (more)...

Well it’s about damn time. Scott Mann’s hard core British action movie The Tournament has finally been given a UK release and unlike its U.S debut - were it was dumped straight onto DVD - it will be getting a limited theatrical release. Tournament stars Robert Carlyle, Sebastien Foucan, Kelly Hu, Liam Cunningham, Ving Rhames and Ian Somerhalder in an icky red battle to the death, between some of the world’s best assassins. Yes its very violent, yes it’s morally ambiguous, and yes it has plot holes you could drive a double-decker Bus through, but all that still doesn’t detract from the fact its one of the best looking, most action packed, bloody, and enjoyably over-the-top popcorn thrillers to come out of the UK in many a year. Definitely one for all you action junkies. The Tournament opens in selected UK theatres July 9th.

Dizzee Rascal according to a recent poll. Surely we can do better than that? Who do you think would make the best black James Bond – nominations for P Diddy don't count
First things first: this isn't going to be a blog about whether or not there should be a black James Bond, because, let's face it, it's barely even an option at the moment. Eon Productions assumed it was taking a giant stand in the name of diversity when it hired Daniel Craig as the spy, simply because his hair was lighter than Pierce Brosnan's. So the reality of a black James Bond, if there's to be one at all, is years away.
Instead, let's just pretend the next Bond will be black. So who do we cast? According to a survey by a second-hand classified listings website, the clear winner is Dizzee Rascal. Yes, really: Dizzee Rascal, whose...

The Tournament is one of those films where the premise is so corny and overplayed that it’s strengths have to come from it’s execution. Luckily The Tournament doesn’t disappoint and is actually something of a gem. In the world of films about televised or secret death matches between over the top badasses The Tournament stands out for having a great cast and some of the better, bloodier and more interesting action moments ever.
The Tournament itself happens every seven years, when the world’s best assassins all gather together in one random small town to do battle until one is left standing and is declared the best assassin in the world. I think the winner gets a giant pile of money as well, but that’s never made clear. Each Assassin is outfitted with a tracking device so the other killing sociopaths know exactly where to go,...

In any given action movie, who is the character you remember the most, the guy (or girl) you walk out of the theater desperately wanting to emulate? Isn't it usually the cold-blooded assassin, with tricks and gadgets, and the ability to get in and out of every building and trap? If it's not, you should reevaluate your priorities.
But at any rate, if one assassin is cool, what about an entire movie of assassins? What if they were hunting each other down? Wouldn't that be a movie you'd line up to see? If so, your prayers have been answered with The Tournament which takes that wonderful idea, and runs to blood-and-explosions heaven with it. Directed by Scott Mann, The Tournament centers on a lethal contest that sees the world's finest assassins gather in an unsuspecting town, and try to kill each other off for a cash prize. Collateral damage and corpses abound.
