The Bachelor loves to sell the dream of love. It is all about those fairy tale proposals, cutesy dates, and the idea of a distant forever. In the countless seasons that have flooded television over the years, only eight couples have actually made it. Just eight. That is not a big number by any means of the imagination.
Some may argue that it’s a kind of voyeuristic, pressure-cooker fantasy world, much like a lot of reality TV. Contestants are cut off from reality; they have no phones, no books, no distractions, and, in this instance, they just seem to have a clear goal of winning one person’s affection. Is that how one finds love? We aren’t terribly sure of that.

These minor personal qualms aside, Season 29 of The Bachelor had everything that fans have come to expect from the show.

A leaked audio clip has ignited a controversy surrounding ESPN, revealing a staff member’s comments about sports personality Stephen A. Smith. The clip, posted by James O’Keefe, founder of the far-right activist group Project Veritas, allegedly captures a conversation between a person identified as LA-based assignment editor and producer Ryan Bertrand and another individual.
ESPN Staffer Calls Stephen A. Smith An “Angry Black Man” As Racist Comments Ignite Massive Controversy
In the audio, the person believed to be Bertrand is heard commenting on the perceived racial undertones of Smith’s on-air persona. “We have this one guy, his name is Stephen A. Smith, he plays the angry Black man on TV,” the voice says. “The angry Black man stereotype is basically, you’re loud, you talk over people, what you say is not necessarily important, it’s more how loud you are and how, I guess, you deliver your speech.

The Walt Disney Company’s broadcast network ABC said its telecast of National Basketball Association (NBA) games have drawn more viewership this season compared to last year.
A slate of 24 games broadcast on ABC during the 2024-2025 season drew an average of 2.683 million viewers, the network said, up 10 percent compared to the 2.436 million that tuned in for ABC’s NBA games last year. The viewership figures were based on measurement data from Nielsen.
The schedule of NBA games on ABC included two NBA Cup games, five Christmas Day games, prime-time games on Saturdays and “Sunday Showcase” games. Opus filmmaker Mark Anthony Green took nothing for granted on the set of his feature directorial debut.
The Kansas City-area native, who’s affectionately regarded as “Mag,” took a circuitous route to filmmaking, beginning his career as a journalist and (eventual) editor for GQ. There, he interviewed the likes of LeBron James, Donald Glover and Daniel Kaluuya. Halfway through his 13-year tenure at the men’s magazine, Green realized he could no longer suppress his longtime urge to become a filmmaker, so he put everything he had into a short film known as Trapeze, U.S.A. (2017). A couple years later, he started writing a thriller titled Opus, which is now hitting theaters on Mar. 14 by way of A24.
Green was so elated to be living out his dream that he went above and beyond to establish an egalitarian tone on his Santa Fe-area set. This approach was not only intended for his stars,...

Quick LinksWhat is the Story of Project X?Matthew Broderick Made His Dislike For Project X Known While Making Another MovieProject X Isn't Nearly as Bad as Matthew Broderick Thinks It Is
Matthew Broderick became one of the most beloved movie stars of the 1980s with iconic comedies like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, thrillers like War Games, and acclaimed dramas like Glory. 1987's Project X, in which Broderick plays an air force pilot assigned to a suspicious top-secret military experiment involving chimps, unfortunately, didn't quite reach the same level of success as those other films. Despite this, it's one that still carries quite a positive reputation, with Broderick giving a likable performance alongside Helen Hunt. As it turns out, however, Broderick doesn't necessarily feel the same way. Unlike many other actors, he's never been one to express regrets about certain projects or speak out about any negative experiences he's...

LeBron James, the most powerful basketball player on the planet, and Stephen A. Smith, the most powerful basketball commentator on the planet, are feuding over how James has managed the basketball career of his 20-year-old son, Bronny.

Smith has been sounding off on the incident ever since, and during a Tuesday podcast appearance called James’ move “weak” and “bullshit,” ensuring the spat will...

From comedy movies to hilarious remarks, Amy Schumer has never been one to hold back, and honestly, fans have enjoyed her humor, so far. But, on a recent note, as some of her past jokes began resurfacing on social media, they somewhat forced people to do a double-take. The one we came across recently is from the promotion of her 2015 movie Trainwreck.
Amy Schumer on The Graham Norton Show | image: YouTube
During an interview for her rom-com on MTV Australia, Amy Schumer appeared making some… uh… bold comments about Justin Bieber and LeBron James. And by bold, we mean yikes. Making s*xual connotations about the two stars, Schumer’s raunchy humor seemingly blurred the line between comedy and pure awkwardness.

Last night, Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David was courtside for the L.A. Lakers’ latest headline-making drama. He just had to get out and stretch his legs, didn't he?
Right now, the NBA world is alight with discussion over the clash between Lakers star LeBron James and the sport’s most outspoken and incendiary pundit, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. NBA star LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, have denied the accusations made in a lawsuit over an alleged 2022 car crash.
On Oct. 22, 2024, April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen, two plaintiffs in Los Angeles County, filed a lawsuit against LeBron and Bronny.
They alleged they were driving on a highway on Nov. 13, 2022, in Littlerock, California, when the basketball players hit them, according to court documents.
This was also the day LeBron and Bronny played together for the first time in a regular-season game during the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-opening 110-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Lopez and McGillen said in the lawsuit that they sustained injuries that will require additional medical attention. They claimed the car they were driving had been damaged and had lost value because of the wreck. They sued LeBron and his son for unspecified damages.

In his 22nd season in the NBA, 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James needs as much help as he can get, even if it comes from the Aba.
Lost in the history of professional basketball are the stories of so many players from the pre-merger era whose impact on the game was more profound and less profitable than a simple sneaker deal. Now one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world, the NBA (and the very sport of basketball itself) wouldn’t be the same without the hard work, skill and creativity of players who never even competed in the National Basketball Association, athletes such as Roger Brown, Red Robbins and Jackie Moon.

Anime characters come in many forms and personalities and we find all of them to be interesting and captivating. Some more than the others, perhaps. For instance, we have ‘Cowardly characters’ in Shonen anime that are often used to create impact in a scene or an event.
The crybaby of Demon Slayer, Zenitsu. [Credit: Ufotable]
This is because usually the protagonist is courageous and fearless. The main character has a lot of growth, so he cannot be seen cowering behind someone else. But when we see a main character who is calm and composed, we see no reason to fear ourselves. Why worry? The protagonist is so calm he’ll figure it out.
That is where the coward archetype characters come in. They are in a scene to emphasize the level and extent of the threat. By giving a sense of realistic fear, they represent a perspective the viewers can empathize with.

Ever since Shamrock’s character was introduced in One Piece, fans, particularly Shanks’ admirers, have taken a sigh of relief. This is because it has vindicated him from all the previous allegations that were put on his character. For the longest time, fans have believed him to be the secret villain of One Piece who will betray everyone in the end for his ulterior motive.

Study: Hollywood’s Male Role Models Are Failing Young Men. Where Does That Go in the Trump Era?

Late last year, entertainment industry tracker Nrg (National Resource Group) released a study concluding that 43% of young men aged 13-30 don’t know what it means to be a man in today’s society. “Like Ken in the ‘Barbie’ movie, men are struggling to figure out their own place,” the study says, referring to the hit movie’s multicultural troupe of “just Kens” who are baffled by the increasing power of women.
The report also suggests Hollywood may be remiss in not filling the void. “A sizable number (47%) of those surveyed are looking to fictional characters, public figures, and celebrities for masculine role models over real people in their lives — signaling how important it is that Hollywood and celebrities present a multi-faceted view of what it means to be a man,” the authors state.

Not many people can say they’ve been kicked out of a locker room at the Olympics or have made NBA superstar Kevin Durant cry, but director Jake Rogal got an all-access pass to the Paris Summer Olympic Games for Netflix’s basketball documentary “Court of Gold.”

Across six episodes, “Court of Gold” follows basketball teams from the U.S., France, Serbia and Canada as they chased Olympic glory in Paris last summer. As Kansas City Chiefs players continue to process their lopsided loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl Lix, Hollywood insiders are watching to see whether Travis Kelce is ready to snag a coveted acting career.
The year has not quite gotten off to the start that Kelce might have expected. Although the star tight end — along with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the team — reached the Super Bowl with a chance to win a third straight championship, the Chiefs’ prolonged dominance saw some football fans turn on them or become convinced that refs give them more favorable calls. Updated with latest: ESPN has once again rejiggered its schedule to highlight superstar Luka Dončić’s debut as an L.A. Laker. Dončić was initially expected to don the purple and gold on Saturday, and ESPN picked up that game before learning that Luka would be out until Monday. Laker fans who tuned in still got to see their team — without Luka or LeBron James — stop the streaking Indiana Pacers behind a career high 45 points from L.A. guard Austin Reaves.
Now, the network has announced it will broadcast Monday’s game in which the Utah Jazz and Lauri Markkanen will visit the Lakers. And it looks like the team’s new superstar will, in fact, play. According to ESPN’s Lakers reporter Dave McMenamin, the injured Luka Dončić “has been upgraded to probable to make his Lakers debut tonight.” Another encouraging sign is the team’s giveaway swag for the matchup.

Goku's first time becoming a Super Saiyan is easily one of the most iconic transformations in all of anime. Goku's guttural outburst of rage after seeing his friend Krillin killed at the hands of Frieza always sends chills down the spines of any Dragon Ball fan. Everything from the shots, the effects, and the dialogue are all instantly recognizable to viewers, from hardcore anime lovers to the general watcher. But as memorable as the scene is, it's not the first time an anime character has undergone a major transformation.
Plenty of anime from the 70s and 80s have characters undergoing iconic transformations in their own right. Like the Super Saiyan transformation, these sequences are as memorable as they are iconic. With how popular Dragon Ball continues to be, it can be easy to forget that other anime helped lay the foundation for the series' use of breathtaking displays of power.

Lionsgate has released its third quarter financial results after the spinoff of the media giant’s studio business into a separately traded stock.
The studio, led by CEO Jon Feltheimer, posted a sharply narrowed net loss attributable to shareholders at $21.9 million, compared to a year-earlier loss at $107.4 million when Lionsgate at the time reported on the impact of the earlier Hollywood writers and actors strikes on its content production and release pipeline.
During the latest quarter to Dec. 31, 2024, overall revenue fell to $970.5 million, against $975.1 million in the same period of last year. That blew past an analyst estimate for $922 million in overall third quarter revenues by $48 million.
Lionsgate posted an adjusted earnings per-share at 28 cents, which surpassed the analyst estimate by 21 cents. And the studio’s adjusted Oibda came to $144.2 million, against a year-earlier $151 million, which well exceeded the Wall Street estimate for $104 million in adjusted Oibda.
