The live-action science fiction TV series “The Ark”, created by Dean Devlin, starring Christie Burke as ‘Lt. Sharon Garnet’who becomes the de facto captain of an interstellar spacecraft after a disaster, has been renewed for Season 3 airing on Syfy:

Syfy had us worried for a bit waiting for news about a potential third season of The Ark, about what's left of humanity traveling the stars in search of a new place to live. There’s finally a confirmation on the show’s future, and it’s good news.

Yes, The Ark season 3 is officially happening. TVLine shared the exciting news, which comes five months after the season 2 finale. At this point, I had to admit that I feared the worst for the sci-fi series.

Initially, Syfy’s The Ark is a rough ride — and not only because the premiere episode opens with a catastrophic event that destroys much of the spaceship it’s set on, along with most of its passengers.

The Ark looks like a throwback to the good old days of sci-fi series on Syfy.

The cable network released the first five minutes of the new drama, and we're convinced.

We pick up with a catastrophic event that awakens Lt. Sharon Garnet (Christie Burke) from her slumber.

Unfortunately, the event could lead to a loss of life, and Sharon is ready to go to any lengths necessary to save as many people as possible.

It's a high-stakes situation and one that requires a lot of attention.

There are tears as some of her colleagues lose loved ones, but Sharon has to think about the needs of the many as she battles to make the spaceship liveable, even for a short time.

New York, a city responsible for bands such as The Velvet Underground, Blondie and Ramones, was a cultural wasteland by the late 90s and the wider music scene was pumping out shlock like Limp Bizkit and Hoobastank.

As Adam Green says in the opening scenes of Meet Me In The Bathroom, a documentary based on Lizzy Goodman’s oral history of nYc’s musical rebirth, “Maybe New York wasn’t the kind of city anymore that produces iconic bands”.

Then came The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, LCD Soundsystem and many more over the next ten years, turning the Lower East Side and Brooklyn into hipster havens.

Truant and revolves around a world of fit and vain vampires. It stars Jacob Batalon, Mandela Van Peebles, and Em Haine. As for The Ark, it's a space drama set in the 100 years into the future when humans must colonize other planets. The cable drama is getting a reprieve, one year after being canceled by the network.

The series will be back on the air in 2023.

Tim Rozon, Sarah Levy, Adam Korson, Maurice Dean Wint, Savannah Basley, and Tennille Read star in the series.

The series follows realtor Nick Roman and an elite team of specialists that handle the cases no one else can: haunted and possessed houses that literally scare would-be buyers away.

Researching, investigating and "fixing" the things that go bump in the night, the team works to create closure - and closings -- even as they struggle with demons of their own.

Syfy also announced that Chucky will be making its comeback this year, alongside the back half of Resident Alien Season 2.

Also on tap for the fall is Bring It On: Cheer or Die.

Syfy’s “The Ark” has cast Christina Wolfe, who plays Julia Butterworth on The CW’s “Batwoman,” as recurring character Cat Brandice, the network exclusively revealed to TheWrap on Wednesday.

The series from “Independence Day” producer and writer Dean Devlin, is set 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions begin to ensure the survival of the human race. After a catastrophic event aboard the first ship to launch, Ark One, the remaining crew must do what they can to survive until they reach their target planet, which is still a year’s travel away.

Wolfe, whose character is Ark One’s psychologist, was also a series regular in two seasons of “The Royals” on E!. She is represented by The Artists Partnership and Link Entertainment.
