One of the defining features and outstanding revelations that came with the passage of time is that the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation was one of the best in recent years when it comes to video games. This graphical leap not only set trends but also offered some of the most original titles possible. This list of underrated games is clear proof of that.
Titles like F.E.A.R., Vanquish, and Asura’s Wrath all belonged to that generation. Fortunately, the following generation didn’t fall behind and also has several examples of games that were unfairly overlooked, like Mad Max. Evil West was one of the few exceptions to the current generation.

Following the box office success of Immaculate and especially Longlegs, Neon is back on the big screen with their latest horror offering Cuckoo, which has been earing rave reviews from critics and horror fans alike. It’s undoubtedly a far less mainstream horror movie than Longlegs, however, and it was only released in 1,503 theaters nationwide over the weekend.
How did Cuckoo fare in its opening weekend at the box office? It’s no Longlegs but Neon is surely smiling at the indie horror movie’s $3,012,500 opening weekend this morning. Interesting to note, Cuckoo is currently sitting in the #9 spot on the domestic box office charts, with Longlegs making another $2 million over the weekend and finding itself in the #10 spot.
Cuckoo is the latest horror movie from writer/director Tilman Singer (Luz). The film’s reported production budget was a mere $7 million. Hunter Schafer (“Euphoria”) stars.

With Richard Linklater, Edgar Wright, and Tom Cruise calling Glen Powell the modern version of an Old Hollywood leading man, it’s only fitting that Paul Schrader would chime in.
The “Oh, Canada” writer/director posted on Facebook that Powell is akin to Paul Newman, Robert Mitchum, and William Holden in terms of his star power.
“Glen Powell is a movie star in the Holden/Mitchum/Newman mold,” Schrader wrote. “Now he needs to make his ‘Hud.'”
Newman starred in the 1963 Western-tinged drama “Hud,” directed by Martin Ritt, which helped cement the rise of the antihero main characters. Newman’s titular Hud Bannon lives on his family cattle ranch in Texas and battles his nephew (Brandon de Wilde) for the affections of housekeeper Alma (Patricia Neal). Newman gave a performance as an arrogant, abusive alcoholic that earned him an Academy Award Best Actor nomination. The film went on to win Best Cinematography,...

Having already played a blinder with their cryptic marketing for one noodle-twisting psychological horror this year, Osgood Perkins' Nic Cage x Maika Monroe joint Longlegs, American indie label Neon look set to make it two for two in 2024 with Tilman Singer's Cuckoo. Following a curiosity grabbing, The Shining evocative first trailer back in April, the latest look at the Luz filmmaker's Hunter Schafer and Dan Stevens starring scarer continues to only hint at the horrors that Singer has in store here — but those hints have us hooked. Check it out:
Stevens' Mr. König menacingly playing woodwind. An investigator looking into a mysterious, not-entirely-human-looking woman. An increasingly bloodied and broken Gretchen (Schafer) screaming, shouting, and getting their final girl on amidst the eerily tranquil climes of the German Alps. What could it all mean? Frankly, at this stage, we haven't the foggiest. And yet, as with that first tantalising teaser,...

Neon's latest wild horror movie, "Cuckoo," has just dropped a new trailer featuring more glimpses at Dan Stevens and Hunter Schafer's already-acclaimed performances. The enigmatic yet apparently entertaining film debuted at the Berlin International Film Fest this year, and /Film's B.J. Colangelo dubbed it a "screeching ride of repulsive sci-fi body horror" in her positive festival review back in April. Since then, strong opinions surrounding the movie have multiplied, with /Film's Bill Bria describing "Cuckoo" as "profoundly strange, nightmarish, and moving in equal measure" on Twitter. Currently, the film holds an 81% approval rating from critics cited on Rotten Tomatoes.
Written and directed by "Luz" filmmaker Tilman Singer, "Cuckoo" tells the story of a teen whose move to the Bavarian Alps is met with a series of sinister events. The movie marks the first horror role for "Euphoria" breakout star Schafer (though Yorgos Lanthimos' "Kinds of Kindness" certainly toes...

When she realizes that a one-night stand has only a few days left to live, Alma must decide how far she will go to save his life and how to handle her new, life-changing ability.
Now that she can glimpse the future, what responsibility does she have to change it? Is this her chance to make a difference… or a curse on all future relationships?

The last time I spoke to Noah Jupe was four years ago when he was just 15 years old. It was over Zoom, and he was promoting HBO’s “The Undoing” from a Detroit hotel room, where he was under mandatory quarantine waiting to be cleared to start work on Steven Soderbergh’s “No Sudden Move.”
At the time, Jupe’s list of credits already included “The Night Manager,” “Suburbicon,” the first two “A Quiet Place” films and “Ford v Ferrari.” He had earned a Spirit Award nomination for his work starring role in “Honey Boy,” director Alma Har’el’s drama loosely based on Shia Labeouf’s childhood.

Hunter Schafer is a very good actress. This probably won’t be news to anyone who watched even the first episode of Euphoria, where her aching vulnerability seemed to swallow the scenery whole. Fresh from appearing in the latest Hunger Games, the actress takes her first leading role in Cuckoo, a supernatural horror that doesn’t feel pushed to explain itself, offering a fun mashup of older, less-well-heeled filmmaking tropes. There is a nicely hammy turn from Dan Stevens and one finely tuned homage, but in Schafer it holds an ace: nailing the physical comedy and stretching her emotive face to the limit, the film is all hers.
In Cuckoo, Schafer stars as Gretchen, a teenager who is joining her father Luis (Marton Csokas) as he moves to a resort in the German Alps with his new wife Trixie (Greta Fernández) and daughter Alma (Mila Lieu). Upon arrival they meet Luis’ boss Mr König,...

Tilman Singer, emerging as a distinctive voice in the horror genre with his debut, Luz (2018), is set to captivate the horror community once again with his upcoming film, Cuckoo. Slated for release on May 3, this film promises to blend psychological horror with supernatural elements against the hauntingly beautiful backdrop of the German Alps.
The Plot of Cuckoo
At the heart of Cuckoo is the story of 17-year-old Gretchen, who, with great reluctance, moves to join her father and his new family in a resort nestled in the German Alps. The move introduces Gretchen to her mute half-sister, Alma, and Mr. König, her father’s enigmatic boss, whose peculiar interest in Alma begins to unsettle Gretchen. The serene setting quickly reveals its darker undercurrents as Gretchen is plagued by unexplained noises and disturbing visions, catapulting her into an investigation that uncovers a deeply unsettling secret that ties back to her family.

DreamWorks Animation has delivered a Halloween treat: gateway horror series “Fright Krewe” has been renewed for a second season.
Look for the supernatural war brewing in New Orleans to continue when Season 2 comes to Hulu and Peacock in 2024.
“Fright Krewe” is Created and Executive Produced by Eli Roth & James Frey. The series is also Executive Produced by Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco.
In the 10-episode series, ” An ancient prophecy and a Voodoo Queen put misfit teens in charge of saving New Orleans from the biggest demonic threat it’s faced in almost two centuries. But, honestly? Saving the world might be easier than becoming friends.”
The first season of 10 episodes recently debuted on Hulu and Peacock on October 2. In my review, I wrote that the inaugural season “offers enough supernatural charm, heart, and whimsy to endear Soleil and her friends to viewers, hoping to see their ascension to full hero in the future.

Plenty of acting stars have taken a break from the spotlight. They may cite family reasons, their own mental health, or a desire to enjoy some time off. For some, however, the reason is more acute. That was the case for Daniel Day-Lewis, a method actor who found the work on Phantom Thread to be overwhelming enough to walk away from the entire acting industry.

Gal Gadot and her real estate developer husband Yaron Varsano are proud parents to three daughters. And though the actor has kept herself very busy - starring in Netflix's "Heart of Stone" and a potential third "Wonder Woman" film - she previously told Baby magazine in 2020 that she loves nothing more than coming home to her family. "I am a very, very happy woman who can hardly wait to come home to my family every time I finish work on a film," she explained. Gadot and Yaron share daughters Alma, Maya, and Daniella.
Gadot told Vogue Hong Kong in the June 2023 cover story that becoming a mom totally changed her perspective. "The biggest thing that changed in my life since I became a mother 11 years ago, was learning that it's not just about me. I'm not the most important thing in the world. They are," she said, calling that fact "simply healthy.

Kuroki yearns to produce another work with Muranishi, but this desire is left unfulfilled as a gap slowly forms between them. The Netflix series follows a married woman who goes on a weekend trip where she cheats on her husband because they have been having trouble in their marriage for a long time. Add a murder mystery to that storyline and Fatal Seduction runs like any erotic thriller. So, if you liked Fatal Seduction here are some more shows you could watch while waiting for Season 2.

“Tár,” written and directed by Todd Field, tells the story of a world-famous symphony orchestra conductor played by Cate Blanchett, and let me say right up front: It’s the work of a master filmmaker. That’s not a total surprise. It’s a ruthless but intimate tale of art, lust, obsession, and power. It’s set in the contemporary classical-music world, and if that sounds a bit high-toned, the movie leads us through that world in a...
