An outpour of actors and comedians are paying tribute to the late Charlie Murphy, Eddie Murphy‘s older brother, who reportedly passed away at the age of 57 after a battle with leukemia.

According to TMZ, Charlie died in a New York City hospital. His manager reportedly said he had been battling leukemia and going through chemotherapy treatment.

After learning about his death, Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, Ice Cube and many more took to social media to remember the late actor, who rose to fame as a recurring performer on Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show from 2003-4.

A&E has pushed out the premiere of its upcoming Black and White TV show by two weeks. Originally slated to debut tomorrow, July 13th, Black and White will premiere Wednesday, July 27 at 10:30pm Et/Pt on A&E. A weekly comedy series hosted by comedians and friends Christian Finnegan and Sherrod Small, Black And White is called a “provocative weekly in-studio show that tackles the third rail of both comedy and politics: race.”While A&E did not cite a reason for the series premiere delay, given the focus of Black and White, it seems likely that recent real-world events in the Us in places including Dallas, Baton Rouge, and a Minneapolis suburb, may have influenced the scheduling decision.Read More…...

There are no shades of grey, here. The Black and White TV show premieres on A&E, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:30pm Et/Pt. The weekly comedy series is hosted by comedians and friends, Christian Finnegan and Sherrod Small. A&E says Black And White is a "provocative weekly in-studio show that tackles the third rail of both comedy and politics: race."

If you’re a fan of smart, independent comedians you may recognize the name Tell Your Friends! – a program started six years ago in a bar basement in New York’s Lower East Side. Presented and hosted by Liam McEnearney, Tell Your Friends! billed itself as a ‘workout comedy night’ for alternative hipster comics on the rise, and featured sets open to the public every Tuesday night. The Tell Your Friends! comedy night led to an independent film as well – Tell Your Friends – the Concert Film! which premiered at the SXSW festival in 2011. In the film, Liam McEnearney showed stage performances from the comedy night, as well as behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with comedians performing regularly for the show.

Austin, TX - Billy Bob Thorton’s, The King of Luck, documentary on Willie Nelson, will screen Saturday, March 19 for the Closing Night at the SXSW Film Festival.

The World Premiere film explores Willie Nelson “the man, the songwriter, the friend, the father, legendary performer and champion of the family farmer.”

Also announced today, a work-in-progress version of the Judd Apatow produced ‘Bridesmaids,’ will screen. The film is directed by Paul Feig, and stars Kristin Wig and Annie Mumolo.

Rainn Wilson’s short film, The Blitzen Trapper Massacre, will be having it’s World Premiere as well, Umshini Wam, a short film from Harmony Korine featuring South African act Die Antwoord, and Hit So Hard, P. David Ebersole’s documentary on Hole drummer Patty Schemel, among others will screen.

Hollywoodnews.com: The South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival announced that Billy Bob Thornton’s “The King of Luck,” a documentary about Willie Nelson, will be thus year’s Closing Night Film, screening on Saturday, March 19.

In addition, SXSW announced more features and shorts for the 2011 event, including a work-in-progress screening of Paul Feig’s “Bridesmaids,” starring (and co-written by) Kristen Wiig and produced by Judd Apatow; “Umshini Wam,” a short film from Harmony Korine featuring South African act Die Antwoord; and “Hit So Hard,” P. David Ebersole’s documentary on Hole drummer Patty Schemel, among others.

Attention Austin-ites: some last minute additions were just announced for the South by Southwest 2011 Film Festival lineup. They include the Closing Night Film, "The King of Luck," a documentary about musician Willie Nelson and, judging from the publicity photo, old timey Western streets, directed by actor (and musician) Billy Bob Thornton. SXSW also added a bunch of cool special events, including a work-in-progress screening of the upcoming comedy "Bridesmaids," which has an insane creative pedigree. It's directed by "Freaks and Geeks" creator Paul Feig, produced by Judd Apatow, co-written and starring Kristen Wiig, with a cast that also includes Maya Rudolph and Rose Byrne. No word on who will be in attendance on that yet, but it should be a fun event (two years ago, Sam Raimi brought his "Drag Me to Hell" while it was still a work-in-progress for a raucous screening that's become the stuff of Internet legend...

The Project

“Colbert Report” writer Eric Drysdale will be orchestrating a second live performance of his “The Man With F.E.E.E.T.” photography experience on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Producers’ Club Grand Theater (7p & 9p showtimes). The show features live musical accompaniment, comedy bits, and a horn section. The staged reading of the booklet that accompanies the 3-D Viewmaster photograph presentation will feature the comedy stylings of Ben Rameaka, Christian Finnegan, Amber Nelson, Gary Rudoren, Rob Lathan, Anthony Atamaniuk and Serra Hirsch.

‘Colbert Report’ writer Eric Drysdale is starring in ‘The Man With F.E.E.T‘, a new one-night-only story reading and show on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the Roy Arias Studios and Theaters – Theater 500. The shows are at 7p and 9p, and look to be quite entertaining! Here’s a description of the event:

Eric Drysdale (The Colbert Report, The Daily Show) premieres “The Man With F.E.E.E.T.,” a set of 3 View-Master reels with 21 photographs in eye-popping 3D, accompanied by a 12-page read-along storybook. The centerpiece of the show will be a staged reading of the adventure, which spoofs the TV-licensed viewmaster reels of the 1960s and ’70s. The reading will be presented by cast members while each audience member enjoys the 3-dimensional images in his or her own View Master Viewer. Between each reel, some of the funny people involved in the creation of “The Man With F.

Revolution’s Joe Roth and Vince Totino and Cube Vision’s Ice Cube and Matt Alvarez serve as executive producers, along with award-winning show-runner Ali LeRoi. In addition to executive producing, Ice Cube plays a recurring guest starring role.

If you enjoy the TBS comedy Are We There Yet?, then you're in for a real treat. The cable channel has just renewed the sitcom for 90 episodes (no, that's not a typo).

Based on the 2005 Ice Cube movie, Are We There Yet? follows the newly blended Kingston-Persons family as they adjust to one another. The series stars Terry Crews, Essence Atkins, Teala Dunn, Coy Stewart, Christian Finnegan, and Keesha Sharp. Co-executive producer Ice Cube plays a recurring role as does former Family Matters star Telma Hopkins.

This is the third TBS sitcom to receive such a massive pickup, following in the footsteps of Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Meet the Browns. Are We There Yet? has been on the air for just 10 episodes but distributor Dembar-Mercury wants to take the series into syndication.

Chicago – Very loosely based on the Ice Cube movie (and featuring occasional cameos by the Executive Producer himself), TBS’s “Are We There Yet?” feels more like a product of the recently-passed era of generic family sitcoms like “According to Jim” or “My Wife and Kids.” With a predictable laugh track and obvious punchlines, “Are We There Yet?” doesn’t take enough chances and isn’t nearly creative enough, but a better-than-average cast keeps the show from complete disaster.

New York -- It's not your father's comedy business anymore.

Production and management firm Generate is taking more control of comedy content in the digital age and pushing it across various platforms with the launch of Degenerate, a label co-branded with distribution partner Warner Bros. Records.

It is developing content from established and up-and-coming comedians, including ones represented by Generate's talent division, and distributing it across platforms in the form of TV specials, DVDs, CDs and digital offerings. Touring blitzes by featured talent also are part of the equation.

The template for the label is the successful Blue Collar Comedy brand, which also is distributed by Warner Bros. Records. Degenerate will feature more metropolitan comedy though.

To ensure more control over the production -- handled by Generate Studios and its recently promoted head of production Michael Petok -- and licensing of content, Generate funds the production of one-hour comedy...

Comedy Central said Wednesday that Jenna Jameson and Ed Helms are the two main voices in Samurai Love God, the network's first original animated series created specifically for mobile phones. Adult film star Jameson will play P-Whip. Helms, best known as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, takes the title role. Comedians Lisa Lampanelli and Christian Finnegan complete the core cast. The show, written and created by Eric Mahoney, will premiere this quarter with eight short episodes on multiple carriers.
