Nemu Kurotsuchi was the Lieutenant of Squad 12, making her one of the highest ranking Soul Reapers in Bleach. She was an artificial soul created by Mayuri Kurotsuchi, which explains why she did not have a Zanpakutō. Although Nemu did not possess a Shikai, the Thousand-Year Blood War revealed her ability to grant herself superhuman strength and generate an energy blast powerful enough to destroy a divine limb. This hidden power would allow Nemu to defeat several established Bleach characters.
Nemu can defeat several Lieutenants with her enhanced abilities, as well as a few Captains who possess Bankai, but they would be far tougher opponents. Nemu can also defeat some Sternritter with powerful Schrifts, including at least one very high-ranking Quincy.

Ichigo Kurosaki is the main character of Bleach and is undoubtedly one of the strongest anime characters of all time. Ichigo is currently the only person with Soul Reaper, Hollow, Fullbringer, and Quincy powers, and he helped make the word "Bankai" a household name. Masakazu Morita is responsible for Ichigo's iconic Japanese voice, and Johnny Yong Bosch has been his English voice actor since 2006. Johnny has voiced several anime characters over his twenty-year career.
Many of these characters appear in well-known anime series, but Johnny has also voiced important characters in lesser-known series. Johnny is best known for voicing heroic anime characters, but he has voiced villains as well. Most of his characters are human, and many of them possess unique skills and abilities.

The Sentient God Trees are now the primary threat in Boruto. They are evolved Ten-Tails hybrids that can use Wood Release and Tailed Beast abilities. Most of these Sentient God Trees look like their chakra templates - individuals who were absorbed by lesser Claw Grimes. The Sentient God Trees gain the appearance and techniques of their templates, which is why Hidari looks like Sasuke and can use his Chidori.
The original Sentient God Trees have already created a new member by targeting Shinki of the Hidden Sand Village, and they could target other characters in the future because their abilities would be useful. Most of the characters who could become Sentient God Trees are former or current Kage, and they all possess at least one technique that is great for battle.

The Thousand-Year Blood War Arc has revitalized the Bleach franchise, and Part 3 is just around the corner. The arc has received a lot of praise for its animation and fight choreography, and Part 3 will feature even more fights with new abilities. Captain Commander Yamamoto and Captain Unohana both stood out in Part 1, and multiple Soul Reapers and Quincy took the spotlight in Part 2. In Part 3, several of Bleach's side characters will have their chance to shine.
These side characters will stand out due to their actions in battle, with some of their backstories also being explored. Many fans have waited over a decade for some of these side characters to have an iconic moment. It goes without saying that most of these side characters will be Soul Reapers, but a certain Sternritter and Arrancar will stand out as well.

There are plenty of things to be afraid of in anime. A tsundere's punch. A '90s dub. A thirteen-episode filler arc. However, ruling anime terror above all else is Japan's expressive and eclectic designs for demons and other supernatural entities. This is a culture that not only pulls from a variety of different cultural sources but has dark, twisted ones of its own.
As such, the anime medium has spawned some of the most terrifying incarnations of demonic forces ever to make heavy metal bands jealous. Decades of content have created a variety of iconic and powerful demons that have acted as both formidable foes and beloved main characters. Putting them side by side, however, this list just can't help but think of who would really rule the anime underworld.
Updated on June 17, 2024, by Ajay Aravind: Some anime demons number among the strongest fictional characters of all time, making them both dangerous and terrifying.

A history of underwhelming anime adaptations is one of the most bittersweet things about being a Junji Ito fan. In a sense, the beloved manga creator's works, known for his iconic horror tales and unforgettable, disturbing visual style, stay mostly preserved as a result of a track record of mixed successes. However, for fans of Ito who root for a worthy transposition of Ito from page to screen, the wait for something promising like the plagued Uzumaki can be frustrating.
Thankfully, a macabre world of anime awaits all Junji Ito fans, all worthy alternatives. Whether satiated or starved by the polarizing Junji Ito: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, there's no shortage of anime offerings featuring familiar psychological twists, stomach-turning yet captivating visuals, or folkloric inspirations similar to Itos.

Fire Emblem fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the recently-released Fire Emblem Engage. Not only is it the latest entry into the famous strategy franchise, but it’s really a return to form for Fire Emblem after the series experimented with a few different ideas. It also features a massive roster of characters voiced by some pretty notable actors.
Seriously, Engage’s voice cast is impressive. It’s one thing to boast a roster of named and notable characters quite so large, and it’s quite another to give most of those characters their own name and voice. While you may only recognize the names of a few Fire Emblem voice actors on paper, you’ll almost certainly recognize many of them the moment you hear them in-game.
So whether you can’t quite place why that name is so familiar, or you just want a little...

Jeremy Degruson and Ben Stassen's animated Thunder and the House of Magic kicks off with an unconscionable act of cruelty: A family abandons a cat on the street, leaving him to desperately dodge traffic. We know the orange tabby Thunder (Murray Blue) isn't going to get run over — not even a family film produced through Belgian tax shelters would get so dark so quickly — but it sets a jarring tone, particularly since the scene is an excuse for the first of the film's many Pov-heavy chase sequences.
The story is serviceable enough: Thunder finds his way into the spooky home of a kindly old children's magician (Doug Stone), and must band together with the distrustful resident animals to prevent the magician's evil real-estate agent nephew (Grant George) f...

Within the past few years a variety of hard-hitting, somewhat bleak dramas have hailed out of Belgium. From Our Children, to The Kid with a Bike, to the recently Academy Award nominated The Broken Circle Breakdown – it’s a nation currently going through something of a bright patch. However, sadly that doesn’t seem to extend to films made for a younger crowd, as filmmakers Jeremy Degruson and Ben Stassen present the underwhelming, albeit enchanting, children’s animation The House of Magic.
Murray Blue voices Thunder, an abandoned kitten who seeks shelter at the home of veteran magician Lawrence (Doug Stone), much to the displeasure of his other pets Maggie the Mouse (Shanelle Gray) and Jack the Rabbit (George Babbit), who are jealous of the affection shown towards him. Finally feeling settled and at home in this fantastical, outlandish new environment, living amongst a host of magical creations, it could be a short-lived stay,...

Summer is here, at least for another month or so, and as Yuko would tell us, hot weather makes the perfect setting for ghost stories! That’s not just an excuse to drink more sake, though (not that Yuko needs an excuse, anyway); summer is also the season for Obon, the festival to honor the dead. Tokyo has it’s bon festival around July 15, but for most of the country, bon odori happens around August 15, so to celebrate this spooky time, and look forward to Halloween (notice those fall decorations going up in stores yet?), this week’s AniMania features a horror series, When They Cry.
The title comes from the sounds of the cicada calls in late summer. Also known as Higurashi, this fiendishly clever show recounts a series of strange murders that took place in the small town of Hinamizawa. The story follows Keiichi, a young man who...
