“The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Thompson),” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Discussing the upcoming season with Netflix’s Tudum, Thompson described season four as a twist on Cinderella. “What’s striking about season 4 is that it’s the struggle between a proper old-school fairy tale — the romance of it — and the actual reality of the world,...

The new season will focus on the second Bridgerton son, Benedict (Luke Thompson), and his quest to find the mesmerizing Lady in Silver, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
Katie Leung (The Peripheral) has been cast as Lady Araminta Gun. Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off. Yerin Ha joins the ‘Bridgerton’ season 4 cast (Photo Credit: Nick Walters)
Yerin Ha, soon to be seen in Dune: Prophecy, has joined the cast of Bridgerton season four as Sophie Baek aka the Lady in Silver. Ha will be a series regular in the upcoming season, playing a maid who catches Benedict’s eye.
Netflix offers this description of Ha’s character: “Sophie Baek has been forced to spend much of her life working as a maid for the most demanding employer in the ton. But the resourceful Sophie always finds a way to persevere through her circumstances — which will drastically change after she disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball and meets Benedict Bridgerton.”
Speaking with Netflix’s Tudum, Yerin Ha talked about what she loved about Sophie. “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome,” said Ha.

Book-to-screen adaptations, whether films, limited series, or ongoing series, have become one of the most popular genres.
As an avid reader and TV fan, I love them.
Almost all networks or streaming services have featured some.

Netflix even aired a companion series, The Netflix Book Club, in which some authors discussed how their novels were adapted to the screen.
There is a fine line between staying true to the source material, pleasing the fans, and developing the characters and stories as your own.
Deciding Which Format Works Best
The network or studio will decide which format works best based on whether it adapts one book or a series of books.
Developing a two-hour film worked best if the book had a clear plot with a beginning, middle, and end, such as Red, White, & Royal Blue.

Ever since King Charles evicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from their U.K.-based home Frogmore Cottage, he’s been pushing for Prince Andrew to move there. However, the Duke of York who lives at his Royal Lodge mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, is refusing to leave that residence.
It’s believed that the king wants his brother to move to Frogmore Cottage so Prince William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) can move their family to Royal Lodge. But that also raises the question: If Andrew doesn’t want to move to Frogmore Cottage and it is still vacant, why won’t the Waleses move there?
Now royal commentator is explaining why we won’t ever see William and Kate as tenants of Frogmore Cottage.

Frogmore Cottage, the prior home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is still vacant over a year after King Charles booted them out.
Frogmore Cottage Has A Rich and Fascinating History
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were asked to leave after the Duke of Sussex published his tell-all memoir, “Spare.” The Sussexes sparked controversy after spending millions of pounds in taxpayer money to renovate the property. Due to the backlash, they ended up footing the bill themselves.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 accomplished in eight episodes the kind of drama that some shows take multiple seasons to bring to fruition. Between Colin and Penelope’s whirlwind courtship and marriage, Cressida Cowper’s downfall, and the major Lady Whistledown reveal, Season 3 managed to cover a lot.

Jessica Alba reigned over Netflix last week with her latest film Trigger Warning, which debuted with 25.7M views, making it the streamer’s most-watched title of the week and No. 1 for English-language films.
In second place among English-language films was the animated fare Ultraman: Rising with 7.9M views. Meanwhile, Richard Linklater’s Hit Man remains Top 10 material, this week coming in sixth place with 4.4M views.
On the TV front, Bridgerton is still dominating. In the first full week since Season 3, Part 2 hit Netflix, the third installment collectively gathered another 16.5M views. It’s not entirely surprising to see the viewership for the second half of Season 3 dip versus the first half, though it does indicate the show might have lost some of its audience in the month-long wait for the final four episodes.
However, audiences are still gravitating toward the entire Bridgerton-verse still. Season 1 of the Regency-era series came in at No.

Since 2021, for the fourth time (including the Queen Charlotte spin-off), viewers were eagerly awaiting the Dearest gentle reader phrase. And although the main intrigue of the series was revealed at the end of the first season, the interest in Bridgerton has not waned.
The new season of Bridgerton is an excuse to invite girlfriends over, dress up in outrageously bright clothes, and drink every time Queen Charlotte looks at someone with disdain.
In a world where there seems to be less and less reason to be happy every year, Bridgerton has become a comfortable form of escapism. We watch it with our favorite snacks, and cry at yet another on-screen declaration of love.

The social season is upon us once more, this time with a long-awaited love story at its center. Netflix released Bridgerton Season 3, Part 1 on May 16. Still, before diving into the newly released Part 2, I’m unpacking the promises of the first four episodes, which welcomed back Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton as Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton amidst a whirlwind of new styles, suitors, gossip and relationships.
Season 3 promises to cash in on the mounting tension and intrigue of Penelope and Colin’s complicated relationship foreshadowed since the early stages of the series. Penelope, a frequently overlooked wallflower leading a secret life as high society’s most relished gossip columnist, has shaped the show’s atmosphere as her pen persona, Lady Whistledown. This season, can she make a splash in society as herself and finally secure a match that will bring her as much happiness as the love stories she reads by her window?...

Even though the discourse of blind casting is as old as time, there are still many people who rail against the inclusivity of every single show that comes out. Unfortunately, among the fans of every single story, there are people who are unhappy with some of the actors of color who cross the line and go online to harass said actors.

Unfortunately, after the release of season 3, part 2, which introduced the new character Michaela Stirling, portrayed by a South African actress Masali Baduza,...

One of the things that sets Bridgerton apart from other period pieces is the way it doesn't try to fit into the constraints of historical accuracy. The universe, complete with Ariana Grande, Madonna, and Pitbull instrumental covers and blind casting for all the major roles, was set up from the beginning.
While some people find the show to be too modern, that is exactly what fans love about it. And while they sometimes wish the show would tone down the unrealistic makeup and costumes, overall they are happy with Bridgerton just the way it is. Fortunately, the writers have no plans to change anything.
When Did Queen Charlotte Die?
While the Bridgerton universe is mostly whimsical and happy, the Shondaland-produced show doesn't shy away from more gruesome and heavy themes. In the first season of the show, we witnessed the murder of Lord Featherington, and in the second season, we...

With Netflix's Bridgerton Season 3 in the books, fans are reflecting on one particular scene in the finale that featured Francesca Bridgerton eyeing the cousin of her husband, Jack Stirling.
Bridgerton Season 3 focused a lot on Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington's characters, but Francesca Bridgerton (now technically Francesca Stirling) was also a major player.
Deemed the season's "sparkler" by Queen Charlotte instead of the diamond, Francesca had a lot of eyes on her. However, although she did find her match by the end of Season 3, the finale revealed she had her eyes on someone else.

Season three, part one, of the Netflix original Bridgerton ended with Colin and Penelope expressing their love for each other. Penelope was on the verge of being engaged to Lord Deblin, the traveler. Even though Penelope had issues with his idea of what companionship was, she was willing to be his wife. It was Colin’s grand gesture that made Lord Deblin back away from the engagement; he figured Penelope loved the Bridgerton boy. Colin and Penelope made love in her carriage and he expressed his desire to marry her.

Bridgerton fans know that the series, as well as the spin-off Queen Charlotte, are based on historical events. It’s based in the early 19th century and some real-life historical figures appear in the show. England’s King George III and his queen consort Charlotte Mecklenburg-Strelitz are the central figures in the spin-off.
As much as viewers love Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuvel, it’s entirely possible her time on Bridgerton could be coming to an end. Season 3 takes place around 1815. The real queen died in 1818.
So does the production team have plans to kill off the beloved character on the show?

The Ton would not be the same without Queen Charlotte, who’s as much a fixture in Bridgerton as the Netflix drama’s titular family. But historically speaking, the fashionable royal consort is poised to die relatively soon.
Season 3 is set around 1815 and the beloved monarch’s real-life death occurs in November 1818 — mere months before the birth of her granddaughter, the future Queen Victoria.

In Bridgerton Season 3, Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) and newcomer Lord John Stirling (Victor Alli) have a relatively easy time. No one is thrown from a horse, like Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) in Season 2. And neither party is holding a deep, dark secret, like Penelope Bridgerton (Nicola Coughlan). Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) even ends up quickly accepting Francesca and John’s match, paving the way for the sweet couple to have an intimate wedding in the Season 3 finale.
And then the final ball of the season arrives — and with it comes Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza), John’s cousin. Michaela swears “every sordid detail” rumored about her is a lie. “The truth is far worse,” she says with a rakish smile. Francesca is left speechless and forgets her own name. That was the same reaction Violet (Ruth Gemmell) had when she first met her late, great husband Edmund Bridgerton (Rupert...

Bridgerton season 3 part 2 reveals that the course of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin’s (Luke Newton) relationship after the fateful carriage ride was not entirely a smooth one. Bridgerton season 3 part 1 established that Penelope and Colin first had to admit that their public personas were hiding the truth of their deeper feelings for each other.

[Editor’s note: This story contains spoilers for all of Season 3 of Netflix’s “Bridgerton,” including the ending.]
When speaking to IndieWire ahead of “Bridgerton” Season 3 Part 1, new showrunner Jess Brownell teased that the word of Part 2 would be “heightened.” “‘Crescendo’ would be another one,” Brownell said. “I think things really ramp up in the back half. If the first half is pure rom-com, the back half still has elements of that, but I would say it’s very thrilling. The back half … intense.”
Indeed, gentle readers.
Part 2 of the Netflix smash found Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) immediately having premarital sex (it helps when your moral code isn’t quite as rigid as Anthony’s); Cressida (Jessica Madsen) attempting her very first blackmail; Violet (Ruth Gemmell) exploring romance with Lord Anderson (Daniel Francis); and — we’re stunned — the reveal to the entire ton, including the Queen (Golda Rosheuvel), that Penelope is gossip columnist Lady Whistledown herself.

“Bridgerton” Season 3 is no fairytale. Instead, the second half of the season, arguably some of the most vital chapters in the franchise, is about taking up space and having the courage to face the consequences of your actions. As Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) transition from friends to lovers, the pair realize if their union is going to work, they must foster an environment of openness and honesty, even if it requires standing in opposition to societal expectations.
Part 2 of Season 3 might not be the fantasy viewers expected, but it does allow us to indulge in the romance for a bit. Episode 5, in the perhaps winkingly named “Tick Tock,” opens with Penelope writing as Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews). Still exhilarated from her enchanted evening with Colin following their steamy carriage ride and his impromptu proposal, Pen wants to linger in this new exquisite era of her life.

Based on the series of novels by Julia Quinn, Bridgerton has become a much-needed way for people to escape the stresses of real life into the fictionalized Regency era. But even the world of lavish balls, glittering gowns and romantic happy endings can't protect one from the pain of heartbreak and trials of fate.
Between seasons 2 and 3 of Bridgerton, which were released more than two years apart, there was another premiere that expanded the Bridgerton universe and explained the backstory of Queen Charlotte. However, since the show's release, Bridgerton's fans have become aware of a tragedy that is now evident in every episode.

One of the things every Bridgerton fan knows about the show is that it's far from historically accurate. And for the most part, viewers tend to enjoy it. By skipping some of the etiquette rules, changing the classical music to modern tunes reimagined as instrumental covers, and creating its own fashion, the show becomes more relatable to modern viewers.
Even though fans are used to seeing all kinds of unexpected twists and turns, there are some things that are unusual even for the Bridgerton setting. But when it comes to the Queen and her glorious wigs, anything is possible.
Bridgerton Queen Charlotte’s Wigs

While a vast amount of work goes into every single one of Golda Rosheuvel’s wigs in Bridgerton, one, in particular, took especially long to design and get approved.
In season 3 of the hit Netflix series, Rosheuvel’s Queen Charlotte wears a wig complete with motorized swans that appear like they’re swimming in a body of water. During an appearance on The View with co-star Luke Thompson, the actress revealed that it took a few years to make that wig.
