Craig Lahiff.s thriller Swerve will debut in the Us on December 6 at five cinemas, screening at prime locations in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, Atlanta and Houston.

Expansion to other cities is contingent on the initial B.O. results, according to the producer, Duoart Productions. Helen Leake. Video-On-Demand release will follow shortly afterwards.

The Us distributor, Cohen Media Group, bought the film at the Berlin Film Festival in early 2012 but postponed the release in hopes of capitalising on the rising profiles of Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby, White House Down) and David Lyons (Safe Haven, TV.s Revolution).

While it may not bear a Directed By credit, the upcoming "Green Blade Rises" seems to be putting together a lot of ingredients familiar to producer Terrence Malick. The project will be directed by A.J. Edwards, a protegé of the filmmaker who was an editor on "To The Wonder" and served various roles on "The New World" and "The Tree Of Life." Moreover, it features Wes Bentley and Jason Clarke (along with Diane Kruger and Brit Marling), who both appear (or at least shave shot scenes) for Malick's "Knight Of Cups." Sony Pictures has moved the upcoming action-thriller White House Down up from November 1, 2013 to June 28, 2013. The project will be competing against Fox's comedy The Internship, and Universal's R.I.P.D. next June. It would be going up against Summit's Ender's Game if it would have stayed in the November 1 frame.

White House Down stars Channing Tatum as a Secret Service agent who must take action when a paramilitary group takes everyone in the White House hostage. Jamie Foxx stars as the President of the United States, alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Joey King, Richard Jenkins, Jason Clarke, and Lance Reddick.

Roland Emmerich is directing from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt, which was acquired by Sony Pictures for $3 million earlier this year. No reason was given for the release date shift, although it is possible the studio may be trying to distance itself from another similar project, Millennium Entertainment's Olympus Has Fallen.

Good news for all of those out there dying for the next Roland Emmerich joint. Sony has moved White House Down, the blockbuster director’s next action vehicle, up from Nov. 1 2013 to June 28, 2013, as per the Twitter account of The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit.

From a high-in-demand spec script by James Vanderbilt (apparently purchased for $3 million), Sony has been streamlining this one ever since the acquisition, most likely in hopes to beat out Olympus Has Fallen, that other White House-gets-taken-over-by-baddies movie starring Gerard Butler.

That said, sometimes the early bird doesn’t get the worm. Case in point, Relativity’s Mirror Mirror to Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman.

The first trailer, or teaser rather (clocking only a little over a minute long) from Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow's "Zerk Dark Thirty" is finally out. Veteran director Kathryn Bigelow broke barriers in 2009 when she became the first woman to ever win an Academy Award for Best Direction for her 2008 effort The Hurt Locker. She chose to go back to the modern warfield for her follow-up project, a look at the hunt for the former Most Wanted man in the world, Osama Bin Laden. Reuniting with screenwriter Mark Boal, who penned The Hurt Locker, Bigelow has assembled a cast for the movie that includes Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, Jennifer Ehle, Chris Pratt, Jason Clarke, Mark Duplass, Kyle Chandler, Frank Grillo, Harold Perrineau, and Taylor Kinney. The actor will portray Colonel Janowitz, the handler for the Speaker of the House (Richard Jenkins). Channing Tatum stars as a Secret Service agent who takes action when a paramilitary group seizes control of the White House. Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods, Joey King, and Jason Clarke also star.

Roland Emmerich is directing from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man). We first reported on this project back in March, when Sony paid a whopping $3 million for the spec screenplay, the biggest script sale to date this year.

It isn't known when production will begin on this action-thriller as of yet.

Jason Clarke Joins White House Down for Sony In Roland Emmerich's film, a Secret Service agent must save the life of the U.S. president (Foxx) after the White House is overtaken by a paramilitary group. Clarke is set to play the group's leader called Stenz, reports Deadline. In case you wondering if we'll see Osama Bin Laden as a character in Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty," this pretty much confirms that we will with little known British actor Ricky Sekhon, who barely even has a presence on IMDb, landing the role of the infamous Saudi-born Al-Qaeda leader.

According to Baz Bamigoye, the actor has already completed his secretive work on the film in the Middle East but, before hand, "did extensive research for his portrayal" and "took the decision to drop two stone [about 26 lbs] to be more in line with bin Laden's 11st 11lb [just under 165 lb] weight." Why is this the first time we're hearing about his casting? Well, apparently, there are a few roles  that have been "kept off the official cast list because of the 'sensitive nature' of the characters."

Randall Miller's rock 'n' roll tribute "Cbgb" has found its female lead with 'Twilight' star Ashley Greene taking on the role of Lisa Kristal, daughter of the Hilly Kristel, the owner of the titular, influential New York club to be played by Alan Rickman. The story follows Kristal as she clashes with her father, ends up as the club's business manager and attends law school all while keeping the club afloat during tough times. The real life Lisa Kristal is, in fact, a producer on the film so authenticity shouldn't be an issue here. Throughout our coverage of Kathryn Bigelow’s newest untitled project, we’ve been calling the movie Seal Team 6/Hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Now it appears that Bigelow’s movie has a title. According to Slashfilm, Bigelow’s Hunt for Osama movie will be called Zero Dark Thirty. An odd title yes, but it does have a nice ring to it after saying it a few times.

Deadline has said that the movie is a working title and it isn’t official. But I do love the sound of Zero Dark Thrity. Bigelow’s ensemble Osama movie stars The movie features Jason Clarke, Joel Edgerton, Chris Pratt, Kyle Chandler, Harold Perrineau, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, Jennifer Ehle, Nash Edgerton, and Edgar Ramirez. While production delays have hampered the movie from being made, there has been confirmation that filming will begin in India.

"Zero Dark Thirty," Kathryn Bigelow's movie on Navy's Seal Team 6's hunt for, and killing of, Osama Bin Laden has run into more drama -- and major production hasn't even started.

After congressional republicans voiced concerns that the White House was leaking classified information to Bigelow and her team (a suggestion the administration summarily dismissed) and Sony postponed the film's release until after the 2012 election, the "Hurt Locker" director may have thought she was in the clear.

But new turmoil in India has further complicated filming as right-wing Hindu activists protested the production on Friday. Afp reports that members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, or Vhp, disrupted shooting in the north India city of Chandigarh and demanded that any representations of Pakistan on Indian soil be taken down.

A production company claimed it was merely making "establishing" shots and that the Abbottabad home in which bin Laden was killed would be recreated in Jordan.

After simply calling it “Kathryn Bigelow‘s untitled bin Laden project” for months upon months, Deadline brings a little bit of news that, while not the whole nine yards, is a big step in the right direction. As they report, this endeavor is now going by the working title of Zero Dark Thirty.

When one a) knows the film’s subject matter and b) takes that name at pure face value, you can figure why I assumed this was some sort of military terminology — the kind that I know nothing of. So, for the unenlightened like myself, Deadline explains that Zero Dark Thirty could be taken as code for “a very early starting time.” With bin Laden having been killed at around 1 A.M. Pakistani time, doesn’t that just make perfect sense?

Well, the cameras are now rolling in India for Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming film, and controversy is already brewing.
