Exclusive: Bet Networks has licensed Carl Weber’s The Family Business, based on best-selling author’s crime drama book series. The project will air as an eight-episode drama series starring and executive produced by Ernie Hudson. It is set to premiere on Nov. 13 on Bet.
The Family Business was originally developed and produced as an indie feature franchise based on the books. The first film started filming in July 2017, with Tri Destined Studios and Urban Books Media producing for a fall 2018 release. The companies subsequently put together a sequel with the same cast, which is still in production. Instead of pursuing a theatrical release, the producers took the two movies to Bet. They will now be recut into an eight-episode series, which will be a co-production of Bet, Tri Destined Studios and Urban Books Media. I hear there is talk about potential future installments.

When you think about it, it’s actually a bit crazy that Jason Voorhees hasn’t squared off against Michael Myers yet. I mean, they’re two of the most iconic horror characters around and in this particular genre, crossovers and mash-ups are a dime a dozen. Understandably, fans have wanted to see a fight between the two slashers ever since their inception and while there’s still no studio movies out there that will deliver that, we do have the next best thing.
A while back, YouTube user Stryder HD released an epic fan-made trailer for Jason vs. Michael, sending horror fans everywhere into a frenzy. Comprised of clips taken from each killer’s franchise (Friday the 13th and Halloween, respectively), and Trent Duncan’s fan film from a few years back, it was very well done and seemed to be received positively enough for the video editor to now put together a sequel.

Now that summer is over, horror hounds are looking forward to the Halloween season, which, for many fans, means revisiting their favorite horror franchises in celebration of this spooky holiday. One inventive YouTuber decided to kick off autumn by cutting together a fan trailer that pits Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise against Michael Myers from the Halloween series. The results is a blend of great scenes from both franchises along with some inventive special effects to bring these sadistic killers together.
The video was edited by a YouTuber named stryderHD, whose work we showcased back in late June with his Ghost Rider vs. Spawn fan-made trailer. The video features clips from Halloween, Halloween 2, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers and Halloween: H20 for the Michael Myers character. For the Jason Voorhees scenes, stryderHD used Friday the 13th,...

Trent Duncan directs a fan film that imagines if Friday the 13th‘s Jason Voorhees went toe-to-toe with Halloween‘s Michael Myers instead of A Nightmare On Elm Street‘s Freddy Krueger. The 9-minute long short is fun, even if it doesn’t take itself seriously, at all. Still, if you can make it past the opening, there’s an […]...

Here is a cool fan-made short film called Freddy vs. Jason. vs Ash, from filmmaker Trent Duncan. I love how it blends three iconic characters together into one short film. Watch the short below and share your thoughts:
Synopsis:
Sisters Lucy (Maddie Bright) and Holly (Ashley Brooke) are stranded with their friend Danielle (Erica Lea Shelton) on the roadside as Freddy Krueger (Danny Zetwo) and Jason Voorhees (Cheyenne Hess) team up to hunt and manipulate the stranded ladies in order to transport Ash Williams (Adam Henrickon) back to this world and seek their ultimate revenge.
