What better way to write a love letter to Hollywood than to create a scathing comedy series that highlights and laughs at everything that's currently wrong with the film industry. That's exactly what Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have done with The Studio, the new comedy series which just premiered on Apple TV+. With two episodes already available to stream, a flood of reviews have hit the internet, and the show's Rotten Tomatoes score has just been revealed. So, is The Studio a tentpole hit, or an underwhelming studio flop?
After a tidal wave of reviews, The Studio is an Oscar-caliber hit (or Emmys-caliber as it's a series), with the new show currently holding a near-perfect 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only has the show united most critics, it has also done so while scoring numerous 4/5 and 5/5 reviews. Peter Gray of The Au Review is one such critic who scored...

Hollywood is a strange place right now. Studios seem to want the best of both worlds as they push director-driven films while still finding ways to make a profit. The newest Apple TV+ show, The Studio, tackles these ideas with comedic insight. Seth Rogen leads the show as the new studio executive of the fictional continental studios, and the series finds him talking to actors and directors, while finding new and creative voices, though he still tries to make his studio profitable.
The Studio starts at the end of March. It's certainly worth marking on your calendar, as the series is already certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with 97%. With big stars like Martin Scorsese, Catherine O'Hara, and Bryan Cranston rounding out the cast, The Studio promises to be one of the more memorable shows of this year. Here's how to watch.

Apple TV+’s The Studio aims to give audiences a peek behind the Hollywood curtain. Funnily enough, it was reported years ago that Seth Rogen had pitched an idea at HBO that pre-dated Entourage, but would be very similar in navigating the glamour of showbiz and would also intend to show some inside baseball on the film industry in Hollywood. Rogen gets to do it in a different fashion with his new TV series and, just like Entourage, there are cameos aplenty by a large number of people playing a version of themselves.
The Hollywood Reporter has just revealed the extensive list of who will be appearing in The Studio. If you’d rather be surprised by who shows up, you can probably consider these spoilers.

Frank Grillo is a go-to star when looking for a gritty action movie, and his films may not always hit the mark for critics, but audiences still love to watch them when they turn up on new streaming platforms. This has been proven in the case of Long Gone Heroes, which, more than a month after topping the Tubi chart, is now sitting at number two on Paramount+’s Top 10 chart.
While Grillo has appeared in several big franchises, such as The Purge, as Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now is part of the new Dcu, Grillo has delivered many big, masculine action movies for a long line of masculine action movies that fans just cannot get enough of. However, with all that in mind, Long Gone Heroes is probably not one that will sit on the top of anyone’s personal list of Grillo greats, but is...

A producer of The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has offered an update on the casting of young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch is the mentor to Hunger Games contestants Katniss and Peeta in both the original Suzanna Collins young adult novels and their movie adaptations, in which he was portrayed by three-time Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson. The upcoming Sunrise on the Reaping adapts Collins' newly published novel of the same name, which is a prequel following Haymitch's victory in the 50th annual Hunger Games.
Variety recently had the opportunity to speak with Nina Jacobson, who has been a producer on the Hunger Games movies from the beginning. In the interview, which was conducted a day before the release of the novel on March 18, she revealed that it has been a challenge to find actors who can portray young Haymitch, especially because "we haven't been able to read actors" out of...

The Studioco-creators, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, premiered their Apple TV+ series at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival on Mar. 7, where they also appeared onstage to discuss the project as part of a Q&a after the screening. The duo were joined by several members of the star-studded cast, having worked with an impressive roster of talent on the satirical comedy. Renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese wasn't in attendance despite having a cameo on the show, but Rogen did share some insight into what it was like to work with him.
According to Variety, Rogen revealed the rather surprising and certainly amusing note Scorsese gave him and Goldberg, and it's the last thing you would expect. The director, who is prone to profanity in his movies, told the pair that he feels their swearing is excessive. "You guys say f*** too much," he said, sharing his opinion with a slightly perplexed Rogen and Goldberg,...

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has revealed that he doesn't think his Hunger Games character's death looked very realistic. Ritchson portrayed the villainous Gloss in Catching Fire.
In an interview with Wired, Ritchson answered some of the web's most searched questions about himself, which included talking about his Hunger Games: Catching Fire character. "I was the guy that slit that little old lady's throat," Ritchson said when asked about Gloss, going on to explain his character originally had a different ending. "Actually, I took an arrow to the face. So, I played it like it was to the face. And then, I think they decided in post that was a little too gruesome to take an arrow to the face by Katniss, so they changed it to my chest."
While audiences may have seen Gloss taking an arrow to the chest, Ritchson insisted that wasn't the way he acted out the scene when filming.

Apple TV+ has dropped a star-studded new trailer for its upcoming satirical comedy series The Studio, which sees Seth Rogen lift the lid on Hollywood's "meat grinder" surrounded by Tinseltown's top talent, including, but not limited to, Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Olivia Wilde, Adam Scott, and even Martin Scorsese. After all, "this is cinema," but perhaps not in the way we're used to seeing it, as the ten-episode series taps into the inner workings of the movie industry, promising lights, cameras, and plenty of action.
According to the show's official synopsis, Rogen plays Matt Remick, "the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios," who finds himself wrangling with "narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords" in the pursuit of making a good movie... that will be good forever (and we're hedging our bets that it's not going to be Duhpocalyspe). Spoiler Alert: Don't get stung — this article contains signposted spoilers for The Beekeeper.
Some buzzy news for your Friday morning! Following the global box office success of last year's David Ayer and Jason Statham action thriller The Beekeeper, The Stath's assassin-turned-apiarist-turned-assassin-again Adam Clay is set to make a busy (probably murderous) bee of himself once again in Miramax's The Beekeeper 2. And what's more, per Deadline's reporting, Indonesian action filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto is making a beeline for the director's hotseat and will be the man calling the shots on the upcoming sequel.
We know vanishingly little about what The Beekeeper 2, penned by the first movie's scribe Kurt Wimmer, will entail at this point, but we do know that cameras are due to start rolling on the sequel — which is sure to have a, er, sting in its tale — before the year is through. And while Ayer won't be at the helm for the follow-up,...

The Beekeeper 2 with Jason Statham is in the works at Miramax. Unfortunately, one member of the original movie's creative team will not be returning (at least in the same role) for the action sequel.
According to Deadline, David Ayer will not be returning as director for The Beekeeper 2, with Nobody 2 helmer Timo Tjahjanto tapped as his replacement. Ayer is currently busy filming the Brad Pitt-led movie The Heart of the Beast for Paramount. However, Miramax is hoping that Ayer will join the sequel in a producing capacity. Kurt Wimmer returned to write the screenplay for The Beekeeper 2, which is slated to begin production this fall. Amazon MGM Studios is expected to secure the sequel's domestic rights. The company previously handled distribution on the 2024 original.

When we first meet Haymitch Abernathy in "The Hunger Games", he's not particularly likable. Wielding a glass of liquor and a bad attitude, the former winner of the sinister Hunger Games, who hails from District 12, more or less tells the two tributes he's meant to mentor — Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, portrayed in the movies by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson — that they're probably not going to make it through the Games, in which 24 kids from the 12 districts of the dystopian Panem are forced to compete to the death. When he tells Peeta and Katniss his only advice is to "stay alive," they physically attack him, at which point Haymitch sobers up (a little bit) and actually helps the pair, becoming a mentor to the best of his ability.
Haymitch is clearly a very troubled man, and it has a lot to do with the fact that, years before Katniss...

The 2010s was a pivotal time for animated movies. Disney ushered in the new decade with its action-adventure film Tangled while DreamWorks started a successful fantasy franchise with How to Train Your Dragon. Recently retired animation studio Blue Sky made fan-favorite Rio and the next installment of the Ice Age franchise, Ice Age: Continental Drift. As the decade continued, so did the expansive catalog of films, including Kubo and the Two Strings, Zootopia, and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.
These films made a lasting impact that projected the path ahead for many of these studios. Some animated films, however, failed to grab the audience's attention the way these titles did. Whether due to lackluster marketing or mixed critical reviews, these films still deserve to be discussed for their originality and broadening of the animation field.

Seth Rogen has revealed the uniquely chaotic approach to his new satirical Apple TV+ series, The Studio. Speaking recently with Esquire, Rogen revealed that every scene in the show will be filmed as one, long tracking shot, enabling audiences to fully immerse themselves in the "manic energy" of studio filmmaking.
“It’s a very funny role to me. Seeing the panic and the joy and the pride that comes with success, and the risk mitigation. How much they love visiting the set, and the tragedy of the fact that nobody wants them around—that’s inherently very funny.
We wanted the show to have an immersive, manic energy to it. Because that’s our experience, being in these rooms with people yelling at each other. We wanted to throw you into it and create this sort of unpredictable, uneasy energy.”

Jennifer Lawrence Set Prank (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Alright, picture this: You’re on the set of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, living the dream, and then Bam — your co-stars decide to pull the prank of a lifetime. That’s exactly what went down for Jennifer Lawrence, and trust me, it’s as hilarious as it is disgusting.
So here’s the deal. Jennifer opened Tiffany’s box, thinking she’s about to get something shiny and sweet. But nope. Instead, she finds… crickets. Yep, a whole box of those little guys, and it was the ultimate gut-punch. “I got a Tiffany’s box filled with crickets!” Jen shared at the LA premiere. Talk about a letdown. “It was the most awful combination of feelings in the world,” she added. “Tiffany’s! Jeffrey!” The culprit? Jeffrey Wright (aka Beetee) thought it’d be hilarious to prank her with the grossest surprise ever.

The past decade has seen some surprisingly high-profile films cancelled, shelved, axed or scrapped. Here they are – all 10 of the poor things.
Film history is littered with abandoned productions, false starts and projects that have withered on the creative vine. What is relatively unusual, though, is for a movie to get through weeks of shooting only for it to be axed at the editing stage.
When we consider how much work goes into a film production before a camera even rolls – casting, building sets, securing locations – the notion that a film could be scrapped at such a late stage seems almost inconceivable. Particularly given that, in the past, films have survived genuine tragedies – The Twilight Zone, The Crow – and still made their way into cinemas.

In Suzanne Collins' 2008 dystopian teen novel "The Hunger Games" (which was subsequently adapted into a massively successful film franchise that kicked off in 2012), we're introduced to protagonist Katniss Everdeen, a young woman from the impoverished District 12 of Panem who illegally hunts to keep her family safe as they struggle to prepare for the annual Hunger Games. See, in Panem (a reworked interpretation of North America), a rebellion occurred years before Katniss was even born, and so the all-powerful Capitol flexes its strength every year by assembling 24 children (two from each of Panem's districts) to fight to the death in an arena, televising the event and dubbing it the "Hunger Games." When Katniss, played in the "Hunger Games" movies by Jennifer Lawrence, volunteers as tribute after her younger sister's name is chosen to compete, leaves her home behind and begins training for the Games, she and her fellow District 12 tribute Peeta...

The Hunger Games movies remain some of the most bingeable of all time, and fans love them all these years later. However, even the most dedicated fans probably don’t know about everything that happened behind the scenes.
Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, the franchise tells its story across four movies.
The original run was so successful that it spawned a spinoff movie The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which premiered in 2023. Another newly announced spinoff, called Sunrise on the Reaping, was recently announced. It will arrive in theaters in 2026.
We did some digging and rustled up facts from the franchise – including details about Jennifer‘s pay and the scene she hated to film, on-set injuries, roles that almost went to other actors and the moment that resulted in damage to a sacred site – that you probably weren’t aware of.
Take a look and let us know if anything surprised you!

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reapingdirector Francis Lawrence gives fans an unexpected update on the next film in the franchise.
Per Collider, Lawrence explained the difficulties in putting together an outline for the next The Hunger Games film thanks to the fact that the feature film franchise has caught up to author Suzanne Collins' original novels. "I will say it's, like, it's tricky because, you know, the book's not out, so only people know generally what it's about," Lawrence said. "I think there was an excerpt that was put out, and Suzanne maybe has a quote out there about what the thematics are. So we're, like, we're researching a little, but yeah, like, we can't put, you know, scenes out or anything like that, yet."

Frank Grillo has carved out a reputation for gritty, hard-hitting roles that have seen him jumping up the rankings of go-to action heroes. As well as appearances in big franchises such as The Purge, as Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now being part of the new Dcu, Grillo has delivered a long line of masculine action movies that fans just cannot get enough of. Now one of his 2024 offerings, Long Gone Heroes, is heading to the top of the Tubi free streaming chart.
However, with all that in mind, Long Gone Heroes is probably not one that will sit on the top of anyone’s personal list of Grillo greats – does anyone have that list? – but it is certainly proving a valuable asset to Tubi. The synopsis for the movie reads:

Before the Jumanji franchise was revived with more modern sequels starring Dwayne Johnson, a loose sci-fi spinoff film was released in 2005. Two decades later, one of its stars is looking back on the movie and its "stacked" cast.
Per Cinema Blend, Zathura: A Space Adventure was addressed by Twilight and Underwater star Kristen Stewart, who took on one of her earliest roles by playing the Lisa character. The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, who'd go on to find big success in other franchises like The Hunger Games and Five Nights at Freddy's. Thinking about Hutcherson and her other co-stars, Stewart is amused to think about the strength of Zathura's cast. She also commented on working with Jon Favreau, who directed the film.

Yes, this is what we've been waiting for. Comedy legend Seth Rogen is coming to save streaming audiences with a fresh new comedy. Rogen is breaking new ground with his upcoming Apple TV+ series The Studio, in which he plays a beleaguered Hollywood producer. The new trailer for the meta comedy series about the pitfalls of the film industry introduces us to one of Rogen's many projects: Duhpocalyspe, an absolutely bonkers zombie movie starring Jackass daredevil Johnny Knoxville and Five Nights at Freddy's star Josh Hutcherson.
The premise of Duhpocalypse is that there's a zombie outbreak, only this one spreads through explosive diarrhea – as depicted in a majorly graphic moment (see below). If the title wasn't funny enough, seeing Hutcherson covered in bloody Zombie diarrhea will definitely either make you laugh, or get sick to your stomach. In a surprising move during the Super Bowl broadcast, Seth Rogen introduced a new trailer for his upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series, The Studio. Set to premiere on March 26, the show focuses on a fictional movie studio led by Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, as he contends with creative pressures and corporate demands.
The trailer, titled Duhpocalypse, includes a notably provocative scene featuring a zombie and a graphic moment of flatulence. In a boardroom discussion, Remick declares, “No, it’s true, but I definitely want that diarrhea explosion in the trailer,” while his colleagues debate whether to keep the scene.
Presented as a movie within the series, the faux trailer stars Josh Hutcherson and Johnny Knoxville. In the clip, Hutcherson’s character faces off against a zombie amid frantic news updates. Knoxville’s remarks and Hutcherson’s alarm lend an unexpected twist to the depiction of a typical zombie thriller.

I believe it takes a well-developed sense of humor to be a horror fan. After all, none of us would be able to sleep if we actually thought that Freddy Krueger could show up in our dreams at night – and yet we always play along when the time comes to enjoy spooky stories about supernatural killers and mutated monsters.

Discounting the Fast and the Furious franchise, I really enjoy Jason Statham’s films. He has an incredible talent for playing the most ridiculous situations straight, with his deadpan, growling voice. The mix of him being serious plus utterly silly situations makes for extremely fun films (albeit The Meg was a disappointment).
He is also brilliant at the physical aspect of the films. I am sure he has stuntmen, but along with Keanu Reeves, he is one of my favourite action stars working today. He has cornered a market, that other actors might turn their nose up at, or most likely you would get the impression they were “in on the joke”. Statham does not do this, and it is to his great credit.

We're still more than a year away from the cinematic release of the latest Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, but Suzanne Collins' novel is set to hit shelves this March, and thanks to a new excerpt we now have a little more insight into the tragic backstory of Haymitch Abernathy. Portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the original trilogy, this new chapter in the epic saga will focus on his early years as he's chosen to participate in the 50th Hunger Games, which also happens to be the second Quarter Quell, meaning this time around, twice as many tributes are selected to represent their district.

The video game adaptation Five Nights at Freddy’s (read our review Here) quickly became Blumhouse Productions’ highest-grossing movie when it reached theatres and the Peacock streaming service back in October, surpassing the likes of Split, The Invisible Man, The Black Phone, M3GAN, the recent Halloween sequel trilogy, and the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and The Purge franchises with its haul of $295 million. So, of course, there’s a sequel coming our way, aiming for a December 5, 2025 theatrical release – and fans have managed to take pictures of some of the filming locations in Louisiana!
One location is, of course, the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza place:

Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 will be the second installment in the Five Nights at Freddy’s film franchise, and the rich history of the games provides more than enough material for Blumhouse to move forward with a sequel. The 2023 movie Five Nights at Freddy’s is the live-action adaptation of the popular video game series from developer Scott Cawthorn. Both the games and movie focus on Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, and the haunted, violent animatronic mascots that dwell within.
Riffing on the animatronic animals seen in restaurants like Chuck E. Cheese, the Five Nights at Freddy’s formula proved incredibly easy to adapt for movie audiences, helped by a cast that includes Matthew Lillard (Scream) and Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games). While the ending of the first movie didn’t explicitly set up a sequel, the premise alone feels more than enough to carry on into Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and beyond.

Despite being pushed to a December 2025 release, things appear to be slowly picking up for Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Spotted by Eurogamer, several fan accounts on X have snapped images of the sign for the infamous pizzeria, as well as merchandise stands for a scene in the film.
The X account Fnaf Movie Updates recently posted images of the pizzeria, which appears to be a little worse for wear, given the brush that’s surrounding the building.

Things get even more interesting from another account, this time from katfanf, taken from Reddit. Not only do these photos show merchandise stands for what appears to be a scene from the film, but another post from the same account also shows decorations for a “Fazfest” scene.
