The Disney “Afternoon Collection” has a special place in the hearts of a lot of Americans of a certain age. However here in the UK we didn’t get that specific block of animation, instead we got the likes of Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales and Talespin as part of various children’s TV blocks – be it early morning at the weekend and the after-school slots that every kid watched between 3.30-5.30pm. Which means you think that there isn’t that same sort of affinity with these shows. But you’d be wrong. Those shows, along with Darkwing Duck, hold a special place in the hearts of a Lot of...

It's July 7th, 2011, and I'm standing on a traffic island on a busy street in San Francisco, watching Jason Segel serve food from a catering truck to Da'Vone McDonald while his dad, David Paymer, looks on with approval. It's surprisingly cold outside, and this is just the start of what promises to be a very long day on-set. There aren't many filmmakers who I can say I've visited on the set of every single one of their feature films, but "The Five-Year Engagement" is the third feature that Nicholas Stoller has directed, and it's the third time I've joined him...

As I walked into the theater for A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas I was walking into my very first Harold and Kumar movie. I missed Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle back in 2004 and skipped Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay primarily because I missed the first film.
I did, however, catch five minutes of Escape from Guantanamo Bay on Comedy Central a couple of days before going to see this third film and got a mild chuckle as Neil Patrick Harris, playing himself, picked up Harold and Kumar on the side of the road and started doing mushrooms and drinking only to have to swerve his vehicle so as to avoid hitting a unicorn in the middle of the road. I laughed and changed the channel. No ill will... just... whatever...
So, with my 3D glasses in hand I strode into the theater to see if there...

I saw A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas last night, in which RZA plays a part in one of the film's best moments as a Christmas tree salesman alongside Da'Vone McDonald (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and while he works on his directorial debut, The Man with the Iron Fists, which he co-wrote with Eli Roth and is currently shooting G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation as Blind Master, he's now prepping to star in Quentin Tarantino's new movie, Django Unchained. Variety wrote last night that the Wu-Tang Clan star would play Thaddeus, a slave working on a Southern plantation, in Tarantino's next film which centers on Django (Jamie Foxx), a freed slave who seeks to reunite with Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), his slave wife, a journey which will see him team up with Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a German bounty hunter, to take down Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), an evil plantation owner.

He could name over 200 kinds of fish in " Forgetting Sarah Marshall " -- but now, the guy who played the sage bartender is working the midnight shift serving up whoop-ass ... at a Hollywood nightclub. 30-year-old actor Da'Vone McDonald is currently a part-time bouncer -- working Friday and Saturday nights at Tru Nightclub ( below ) -- and based on the pic, the gig comes with some sweet benefits. No worries ... Da'Vone -- who has also appeared in two...

Jason Segel may be one of the most likable guys working in movies today. As Da'Vone McDonald so elegantly puts it in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, "He's like Gandhi, but better - he likes puppets." The guy constantly puts out an amazing positive energy, whether it be as Marshall on How I Met Your Mother or Jason in Knocked Up. Hell, the guy even managed to make being a stoned out loser look adorable in Freaks and Geeks. Needless to say, I'm all in favor of Segel getting more roles and his newest sounds excellent. THR reports that Dreamworks, in coordination with Steven Zaillian's Film Rites, is setting up a project called Undercover Cop with Segel in mind to star. Currently being scripted by Jason Micallef, who wrote the upcoming Butter, the plot details are slim, but the film will be set in 1980s New Jersey and see Segel infiltrating...
