Exclusive: All Five Eyes, the latest feature from American director Jaclyn Bethany, has added Sophie Kauer, best known for her role as Cate Blanchett’s protégé in Todd Field’s Tár, to its ensemble cast.

The film, which is currently shooting in Kent, England, is led by Greta Bellamacina (Tell That To The Winter) and Honor Swinton Byrne (The Souvenir). Also joining and rounding out the cast today are Aimeé Kelly (Hijack) and Susanne Wuest (Goodnight Mommy).

Bellamacina and Bethany co-wrote the script. This is their second collaboration following Tell That To The Winter Sea, which was exclusively released on Apple TV following a UK theatrical run and distributed by Kaleidoscope worldwide.

Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to horror thriller “I’ll Play Mother,” with the Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company set to release the film in September.

The film, which was acquired from Concourse Media, stars Susanne Wuest (“Goodnight Mummy”), Jo Martin and Shubham Saraf (“A Suitable Boy”). Brad Watson (“The Siege”) directs from a screenplay by Libby Adam, based on an original story by Charles Edwards.

A twisted psychological horror about the relentless and unending paranoia of parenthood, “I’ll Play Mother” follows two children who are placed into the care system after the death of their birth mother. At this point, they realize there is something sinister at play.

The film was produced by Ben Charles Edwards and Kirsty Bell for Dreamtown, commissioned by Goldfinch.

“I’ll Play Mother” marks the first film from Dreamtown’s film slate, an auteur-driven genre production label focused on horror, thriller, and sci-fi projects.

Concourse Media, the sales and distribution banner led by Matthew Shreder, is teaming with Goldfinch on its already-established genre label The Number 44.

Concourse will come aboard as sales partner for a five-picture slate, which is fully financed with production already completed on two films and three more slated for this year. Concourse is also helping develop and produce.

Exclusive: Toronto-based production company Good Question Media and Experimental Forest Films today announced the start of production on the upcoming drama Inedia.

Directed by Liz Cairns in her feature film debut, the film stars Amy Forsyth, Susanne Wuest (Goodnight Mommy), and newcomer Nova Brown. Production is underway on the flick, which is shooting on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia, Canada.

Goodnight Mommy was a 2014 Austrian horror that came and went with a small murmur of excitement, largely due to the twist hidden in its final act. Two kids, Lukas and Elias, bearing the feral stares and thin faces of baby bogeymen, arrive home one afternoon to find their mum back from the hospital. She’s undergone a cosmetic procedure and her head is mummified in bandages. But dear mother is so strange now: she refuses to acknowledge Lukas, and grows cruel and violent when the boys disobey her. Soon, they become convinced she’s been replaced by an imposter.

The film, directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala, defined itself both through its cruelty and its sparseness – a cousin to the works of fellow Austrian provocateur Michael Haneke, with a dash of The Shining’s alienating architecture.

The sneak peek for the Prime Video original showcases Naomi Watts in the title matriarchal role. Much like the first film, the movie follows a mother reuniting with her twin sons following a cosmetic surgery that requires her to wear bandages around her entire face and head. Slowly, the boys start to suspect their mother, well, isn't who she says she is, and they join forces to unmask her and find out the truth.

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired U.S. rights to “Stanleyville,” starring “Goodnight Mommy’s” Susanne Wuest, ahead of the film’s world premiere at this month’s Fantasia Film Festival.

One of the high-profile Fantasia deal announcements, the pick-up, brokered with Yellow Veil Pictures, will see Oscilloscope open “Stanleyville” in U.S. theaters this Winter.

“Stanleyville” marks the feature film debut of Canadian actor-turned-director Maxwell McCabe-Lokos, who has appeared in a slew of movies and TV series, including “Antibirth,” “Lars and the Real Girl,” “The Incredible Hulk” and “Tin Star.”

Estonia’s Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Nov 15-Dec 1) has completed the line-up for its official selection, the festival’s main competition strand.

Just in time for Christmas comes the heartwarming story of “Perfume,” which follows a half-dozen friends so obsessed with the possibilities of smell that the death of one of them dredges up some extremely unpleasant things about their pasts.

The new series is based on the 1985 Patrick Süskind novel “Perfume,” which was previously adapted into the 2006 Tom Tykwer film “Perfume: The Story of a Murderer,” starring a pre-Bond Ben Whishaw, Alan Rickman, and Dustin Hoffman. This new TV venture brings the original story into a modern context, rather than the 18th-century French environs of the novel.

In updating the historical story, this six-part season also gets a detective show twist, with a group of investigators looking into the death of a singer. What they find is a group of one-time school friends, at least one of whom stumbled into the practice of using human scents as the basis for making a one-of-a-kind fragrance.

"Why are you so sad?" Screen International has unveiled the first official trailer for László Nemes' new film Sunset and my goodness does it looks incredible. This is the next film from the highly acclaimed Hungarian director of the film Son of Saul, and it's set to premiere at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals this fall. Sunset tells the story of a young girl who grows up to become a strong and fearless woman in Budapest before World War I. Juli Jakab stars as Írisz Leiter, and the cast includes Vlad Ivanov, Susanne Wuest, Björn Freiberg, Levente Molnár, Mónika Balsai, Urs Rechn, Judit Bárdos, and Evelin Dobos. I don't know much about this film yet, but I think it looks extraordinary already, especially because I believe Nemes is a genius (for making Son of Saul). I'll be seeing this in Venice and will have a review up soon after.

"They found a man, but not his story..." A trailer has debuted for a film titled Iceman, which is premiering at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland kicking off this week. This film could be described as an ancient Neolithic man version of The Revenant, about one man who angrily seeks revenge but must first survive the brutal Ötztals Alps. Jürgen Vogel stars as Kelab, with the full cast including Susanne Wuest, André Hennicke, Violetta Schurawlow, Sabin Tambrea, Martin Schneider, and an appearance by Franco Nero. The film uses an early version of the Rhaetic language. This actually looks damn good, with some impressive hair + beards and an intense story set entirely in the wilderness. I'm intrigued enough to watch. Screen can reveal the first trailer for writer-director Felix Randau’s Locarno world premiere Iceman, which reimagines the last days of Neolithic man ‘Ötzi’.

The epic survival and revenge story charts the fictional journey of a man who lived more than 5,300 years ago as the leader of a besieged Neolithic clan in the Ötztal Alps.

The enigmatic character has subsequently become the subject of one of the great unsolved historical murder cases.

Beta Cinema handles sales on the movie, starring Juergen Vogel (The Wave), Franco Nero (Django Unchained), André M. Hennicke (Victoria), Sabin Tambrea (Ludwig II) and Susanne Wuest (A Cure For Wellness).

2016 was a very good year for studio horror movies, and 2017 is looking like it could be quite nice for horror fans as well. After spending quite some time doing massive, blockbuster movies, director Gore Verbinski is returning to the world of horror with A Cure For Wellness, which is due out early next year. Now, 20th Century Fox has released a brand new, full-length trailer, giving our best look yet at the upcoming horror thriller.

20th Century Fox uploaded the trailer online recently, and unlike the first trailer, this gives us a very good idea of the actual story in A Cure For Wellness. It looks as though this movie will be borrowing more from Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island than The Conjuring, but there are definitely enough moments in this trailer to get horror fans excited. The videos are also accompanied by a viral website, which shows how you can use meditation to "cure" yourself. It's possible these videos and the viral website could be leading to the first trailer, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Fans can visit the website at ACureForWellnesss.com, where they can begin their treatment. The site offers meditative treatments that focus on the three elements Earth, Water and Air.
